Chapter 278 - Chapter 278: Overwhelming Impulse

Sapphire asked a passerby and quickly found the route to the Granite Cave.

But as she was heading toward the cave, passing a small harbor in Dewford Town, she ran right into Ruby, who had arrived with the elderly Mr. Briney.

When the two rivals met, a round of mutual taunting was inevitable.

However, Sapphire had already won a Gym Badge, while Ruby hadn't won a single Contest Ribbon, allowing Sapphire to feel triumphant.

Afterward, the two traveled together and arrived at the Granite Cave.

Sapphire was there to train her Pokémon and prepare for her Gym Challenge.

Ruby was there to search for the Legendary Pokémon Milotic.

Their goals were different, so they parted ways at a fork in the road.

However, the hard-headed but soft-hearted Sapphire called out to Ruby, saying that if she encountered the Pokémon he was looking for, she would let him know.

Ruby was about to thank her, but Sapphire had already walked into the tunnel without turning back, giving Ruby no chance to speak.

Ruby could only swallow his words, silently wishing Sapphire good luck in his heart.

While Ruby and Sapphire began their respective activities, Ace found himself with a massive headache.

Inside the hotel room, Zinnia's eyes were hazy, her cheeks flushed with a rosy color. She softly murmured, "Lord... Ace... I..."

As she murmured, she pounced on Ace...

The timeline reverts to a few hours earlier. After finishing their sunbathing, Ace and Zinnia returned to the hotel where they were staying.

It was nearly five o'clock in the afternoon. Ace and Zinnia took showers in their respective rooms, then met up to dine in the hotel restaurant.

Ace quite liked this hotel because, unlike the Opelucid House where he dined in the Unova Region, Trainers were allowed to release their Pokémon to dine with them.

So, the two chose a large private room and released their Pokémon to prepare for the meal.

However, they couldn't release their larger Pokémon.

For example, Ace's Tao Dragon and Zinnia's Wailord.

With one being over four meters tall and the other over ten meters long, releasing them both would instantly burst the private room.

Ace ordered a table full of dishes, and he also noticed that the hotel offered a fruit drink made from relatively rare Berries.

This piqued Ace's interest.

Naturally, you get what you pay for; some rare Berries were inherently valuable. To luxuriously press them into juice was quite wasteful.

Of course, the price of a single cup of this extracted juice was astronomical.

More importantly, the menu stated that this extracted juice was extremely beneficial to the human body, and long-term consumption had the effect of strengthening one's constitution.

However, Ace, currently a sugar daddy with money to burn, didn't think much of the price. He glanced at it, then ordered a dozen cups, planning to share a taste with his Pokémon.

He handed the menu to the waiter. After only a ten-minute wait, the dishes Ace ordered were delivered one after another.

Ace, Zinnia, and their Pokémon all dug in heartily.

Halfway through the meal, the juice was also delivered.

The juice was completely red. Water droplets covered the outside of the glass, clearly indicating it was chilled.

Ace wiped his hands, picked up a glass, and took a sip.

Upon tasting the juice, Ace felt it was delightfully sweet and sour, very appetizing.

But as he drank more of the juice, a distinct heat rose in his mouth, making it impossible to tell that the drink was chilled.

Swallowing a mouthful was like swallowing a ball of fire. But as the liquid disappeared, the heat in his mouth vanished, and a refreshing coolness was generated, traveling down his throat to his stomach, and then spreading throughout his limbs and body.

"Ah, that's refreshing!"

Ace couldn't help but exclaim. This peculiar juice gave him a sensation he had never experienced before. Ace could feel his entire body relax. The cool sensation made him feel slightly dizzy, as if he had been drinking alcohol.

Zinnia also picked up her glass and drank. Her eyes soon lit up, and she quickly downed the entire cup.

Ace saw this, set down his glass, which was still two-thirds full, and shook his head.

Good things should naturally be savored slowly.

Picking up his chopsticks, Ace continued to eat, occasionally taking a sip of the juice. He was in an excellent mood.

Zinnia also continued to eat, but a flush gradually spread across her cheeks, making her look extraordinarily seductive.

"I really want to devour her right now," a thought suddenly flashed through Ace's mind as he glanced at Zinnia.

Ace froze. Why would he have that thought?

Instinctively, Ace looked at his Pokémon. The others seemed fine, but his Garchomp looked wobbly, its head resting on the table as it mumbled something.

Zinnia's three Dragon-type Pokémon were the same: they looked drunk, their eyes slightly glazed over.

"Waiter!"

Ace immediately called the waiter over and asked what was happening.

The waiter saw the Dragon-type Pokémon and instantly understood. He seemed unsurprised as he explained, "This juice of ours is good for strengthening the human body, but for Dragon-type Pokémon, it's a bit like drinking alcohol. It also contains an ingredient that acts as an aphrodisiac for Dragon-types. Many places that breed Dragon-type Pokémon specifically request this juice as a necessity for breeding the next generation."

Ace: "..."

Zinnia: "..."

Ace instantly knew things were bad. He quickly recalled his Garchomp. Zinnia also hurried to recall her three dragons.

"Can induced vomiting effectively alleviate this state?"

Ace asked the waiter, holding onto a final thread of hope.

"I don't think so."

The waiter's answer instantly made Ace's mouth twitch.

Telling the waiter to leave quickly, Ace and Zinnia abandoned their meals, packed their things, and rushed back to their respective rooms.

Ace charged into the bathroom, stood in the tub, and let the cold water pour over him. But even so, Ace felt his body gradually heat up.

While the juice was primarily meant to affect Dragon-type Pokémon, Ace was the successor of the Draconid Tribe. Having absorbed so much Dragon energy, his physical constitution was actually similar to that of a Dragon-type Pokémon.

Zinnia, needless to say, had the Dragon energy of Rayquaza left inside her. After absorbing it, her physical constitution was similar to Ace's.

Their current situation was extremely precarious!

"Splash."

Ace, who was dousing himself with cold water, looked back to see Zinnia, her face flushed red and her eyes hazy, staring at him.

It was only then that Ace realized that although his room door was locked, their rooms were right next to each other. Anyone with a slightly good physique could easily reach the other's room by crossing the balcony.

"Lord... Ace..."

Zinnia murmured, and pounced on Ace...
