Li De had previously obtained a fragment of the Twelve Magic Scrolls, gifted to him by the young goblin Yor in Green City.
But clearly, this divine artifact fragment was significantly larger than the previous one and had far superior attributes.
"Mysterious Fragment
Attached Effects: Upon wearing, recovers 20 mana points per second, grants immunity to all coercion below Deity-level, and immunity to level suppression.
Contains a Tier 4 Spell - Spatial Strangulation: (Creates a fractured spatial cage that strangles enemies using spatial force)
Casting Time: 1 second
Cooldown Time: 1 day
Description: Appears to be a fragment from the corner of a divine artifact."
What a treasure, what a treasure!!
A thick smile appeared in Li De's eyes.
This one was far stronger than the previous fragment he had obtained.
Not only had the mana regeneration increased to 20 points per second, but it also came with an incredibly potent passive effect despite its simple description: immunity to all coercion below Deity-level and immunity to level suppression.
Coercion, Dragon's Might from a dragon was a standard example of powerful aura-based coercion. It could directly suppress combat power and was extremely overwhelming.
Immunity to level suppression was an even rarer trait. This meant that even if he were to face a Legendary-level being head-on in the future, he wouldn't suffer any debuff due to the opponent's overwhelming power.
High-level beings held natural advantages over lower-level ones. When the level difference was too large, attributes could even be reduced by percentage.
Just like the title 'Dark Legend' activated by his alternate identity, Iro: when facing dark beings with a lower Legend Rating than his, he could directly reduce their attributes by 30%.
Though the introduction didn't sound flashy, its practical value was immense.
Even more surprising was the sealed Tier 4 spell. A Tier 4 spell, just learning one could take a Level 15 Grand Mage an incredibly long time. And this was a powerful spatial-type offensive spell.
With a casting time of only one second, virtually instant, it could deliver a deadly, unexpected strike. The only downside was its one-day cooldown, meaning it could likely only be used once per battle.
Still, there was no doubt about the potency of this divine artifact fragment. While it might not match the Legendary grade cloak he coveted, it was definitely worth over a million Gold Pucks.
With growing anticipation, Li De promptly equipped the divine artifact fragment.
Moments later, a strong sense of joy appeared on his face.
It stacked!!
He had already been wearing the divine artifact fragment that Yor Graymount had offered him back in Green City.
Mysterious Fragment
Attached Effects: Upon wearing, recovers 10 mana points per second, grants immunity to all detection spells below Legendary level, immunity to mind control, and reduces mana backlash by 50%.
Description: Appears to be an insignificant corner fragment of a divine artifact.
Other traits aside, that smaller divine artifact fragment granted 10 mana points per second. And the one Mohr gave him granted 20 per second. The most important part was, they didn't replace each other, they stacked.
After wearing both fragments, his mana regeneration reached 30 points per second.
If all he did was cast Small Fireball, he could do so infinitely.
Even when casting the nearly Tier 3-level spell Scorching Fireball, which consumed 40 mana per cast, his sustainability saw a qualitative leap.
Scorching Fireball, when optimized, could be cast once per second at a cost of 40 mana. Calculated out, the net cost was only 10 mana per cast due to the 30 points regenerated every second.
With nearly 900 mana at his disposal, he could unleash terrifying firepower, and that was even without activating Mana-Infused Blood.
Li De was immensely satisfied.
Furthermore, with increased mana regeneration, his Dragonscale Shield would also have remarkable endurance.
After conducting a few experiments, Li De took the divine artifact fragment back into his hand. As he gazed at the one-third palm-sized, yellowish fragment made of unknown material, its matte texture stirred his curiosity.
"Mohr, divine artifacts are supposed to be incredibly sturdy. How did you tear this off?"
Divine artifacts were the highest-tier equipment in this world, beyond the reach of most. The idea of tearing off a piece from one was almost inconceivable.
And the one who tore it was a weak goblin, that made it all the more unbelievable.
Upon hearing the question, Mohr's eyes revealed a hint of recollection. Fear surfaced on his dragonfire scorched face as he took a deep breath and began to speak slowly.
"Majestic, we discovered this Twelve Magic Scroll during an expedition to an ancient goblin ruin.
We ventured into the deepest part of the ruins, where a black altar engraved with mysterious inscriptions stood atop the wreckage. The scroll rested on the core of the altar's magic array.
No one would ever abandon such treasure found in a ruin, not even goblins.
Once we confirmed there was no danger nearby, I retrieved that long-sealed scroll." As he said this, a look of indescribable fear emerged in Mohr's eyes.
"The moment I took the scroll, the dormant magic array, silent for countless years, suddenly activated. The energy sealed within the altar for several hundred million years exploded all at once.
The energy, powerful enough to obliterate a city of one hundred thousand people, surged into my body.
In less than a minute, I broke through to Level 15.
But that energy was far too immense, I was nearly torn apart by it."
A flicker of lingering fear flashed in Mohr's eyes. "At that moment, I was holding the Magic Scroll and instinctively channeled the power into it.
That terrifying surge of energy directly activated the divine artifact.
The artifact unleashed an extremely violent magical fluctuation, perhaps spreading out over a hundred kilometers.
A black dragon was drawn to it.
No one knows how the black dragon appeared in the ruins. Perhaps it used spatial magic, or maybe it had been sleeping there all along.
That black dragon was far too powerful. None of us could stop it."
