The alchemical bomb has been completed??
A look of delight appeared in Li De's eyes.
From the time the goblins arrived in Dawn City until now, half a month had passed, and they had finally produced results.
Although the alchemical factory was still under construction, the temporary area assigned to the goblins hadn't been idle at all, alchemical bombs were being made there in full swing.
However, due to the severe lack of tools and raw materials, everything had to start from scratch. So even though the goblins were extremely familiar with alchemical bombs, they still couldn't produce them quickly.
Now, upon receiving this good news, Li De was in a great mood.
After forming the Blade of Kings, he had ample manpower. Once the alchemical bombs were ready, he could proceed with assembling the magical version of an air force he had planned.
This would undoubtedly be a groundbreaking milestone for Dawn City.
Moreover, alchemical bombs weren't solely for military use, they could also be used in civilian applications such as mining, building bridges, and paving roads. Their diverse uses could provide a considerable boost to productivity.
"Take me there immediately."
Unable to contain his excitement, Li De stood up and headed toward the goblins' temporary base together with Harrison.
"Yes, Patriarch."
Seeing Li De in high spirits made Harrison just as pleased. As the head of City Hall, he knew all too well the significance of the alchemical bomb.
Since the alchemical factory hadn't been completed yet, in order not to delay the research progress, Li De had temporarily allocated a small area on the southern edge of the Southern District as a goblin research site.
For safety reasons, he had also evacuated all surrounding residents, turning this area into a restricted zone.
Transforming into a bat, Li De flew across the city and, in less than a minute, arrived with Harrison at the goblins' camp.
The surroundings were tightly enclosed by makeshift high walls. Patrols could be seen keeping a watchful eye. Rather than a manufacturing base for alchemical bombs, the place looked more like a prison.
Upon seeing Li De, the patrolling guards stationed at the high wall's entrance immediately stood at attention and saluted in unison, hastily opening the tightly sealed gates to let Li De and Harrison inside.
Inside the walls stood more than ten three-story buildings. The ground was paved with bluestone. This had previously been a residential area, but since it had been uninhabited, it was temporarily repurposed as a goblin research facility.
Hundreds of green-skinned goblins were now moving in and out of the buildings.
Just as he stepped through the gate and before Li De could take in his surroundings, an excited voice rang out.
"Majestic, the Graymount Tribe welcomes your arrival. We've produced the alchemical bomb!!"
Li De looked up and saw that in the clearing behind the wall, more than a hundred short green-skinned creatures were gathered to greet him, clearly waiting for his arrival.
Among them, one old goblin stood out in particular. Leaning on a green staff and with a face full of scars, he held an alchemical bomb about two sizes smaller than a basketball.
Its turtle shell-like casing, crooked green runes, and sharp-eared pull ring, every detail marked this unmistakably as a goblin creation.
Curious, Li De stepped forward, but then suddenly seemed to recall something. With a wave of his hand, a faint Dragonscale Shield shimmered to life around him.
He hadn't forgotten what Mohr had said, Tier 2 alchemical bombs were unstable and prone to explosion.
Although this was a Tier 1 alchemical bomb, it was their first time producing one, and there were no guarantees for its safety.
He had no intention of letting this thing turn him into an idiot.
"This was just made?"
Li De gave the alchemical bomb, roughly the size of Mohr's head, a curious look.
"Yes, Majestic. This is the very first alchemical bomb we've produced!!"
Mohr was waving his hands excitedly.
He had been under considerable pressure lately. The clever goblins knew full well their own value, if they didn't produce an alchemical bomb quickly, their importance in Li De's eyes might plummet.
That was something Mohr absolutely couldn't allow.
"Can we test its power now?" Li De asked eagerly.
"Of course, if that is your wish." Mohr patted his chest, looking elated. The old goblin was positively brimming with pride at this moment.
Li De nodded, then curiously checked the alchemical bomb's attributes.
"Alchemical Bomb
Grade: Tier 1
Description: A goblin-made explosive with decent power. Its casing causes significant damage upon detonation."
The description was simple and didn't reveal much. There was no way to judge its actual power without conducting a live test.
He gestured to the vampire guards behind him.
"Take it outside and test it on the plains."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
After taking the alchemical bomb, the vampire guards led the group straight toward the plains outside the compound.
Since they were at the edge of the Southern District, there was a wide open area just beyond the gate, so there was no need to look for a special testing site.
Excitement and anticipation filled Li De.
Although he had tested an alchemical bomb once before, that one had been brought from Green City by Grote. This was different.
This alchemical bomb had been produced in Dawn City itself.
That made all the difference.
If the test was successful, it would mean Dawn City had officially gained the ability to produce alchemical bombs, a fearsome weapon to add to Li De's arsenal.
Mohr, sensing the excitement on Li De's face, felt just as thrilled inside. The more Li De valued alchemical bombs, the better life would be for the goblins.
Over the past two weeks, Mohr had deeply enjoyed the thrill of receiving unconditional support.
Anything the goblins needed was immediately delivered to his hands, he didn't have to worry about a thing. His sole focus was on researching alchemical bombs.
Compared to their previous life in the Graymount Tribe, where even food was scarce, living in Dawn City felt like paradise.
Even a strange feeling began to arise in his heart, if he had to choose again between returning to the Graymount Tribe or staying in Dawn City, the scales within him now tilted more toward Dawn City.
This city was drawing him in with a unique kind of charm, one that was hard to resist.
"We may begin!"
Li De waved his hand at the vampire flying in the sky with the alchemical bomb, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Behind him, Harrison also watched the scene with excitement. If this test succeeded, then from this day forward, Dawn City would rise to new heights.
This was a moment worthy of being recorded in Dawn City's history books.
