Chapter 385 - Chapter 385: The Silver Sable of Lisbon

"A school trip, hotel reservations for over a month, about forty days, we're going to Lisbon, Madrid, Naples, Rome, Venice... Why are there three stops in Italy and only Madrid in Spain? It's fine if places like Toledo and Granada aren't famous, but they didn't even consider Barcelona!"

As soon as Peter sat down on the plane, he complained to Harry and Amadeus while holding the promotional booklet. Looking at Peter, who was sitting by the window, and then at Cindy and Gwen, who were sitting across the aisle, Harry could only nod and agree with a "Yeah, yeah."

What else could he say? Why didn't Peter go sit with those two?

It felt a little ridiculous.

"So, we actually have a secret mission this time, and that's why S.H.I.E.L.D. arranged this trip for us?" Harry asked in a low voice after the flight attendant left, raising his doubts: "If the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. can't get close for the sake of secrecy, will it just be up to you and Cindy? Oh, and Felicia."

Catching sight of Felicia talking to Jessica far away, Harry calculated their side's combat power: two Spider-Men plus a Black Cat. Could they win?

He heard the enemies were all exaggeratedly monstrous figures.

"Fury said he contacted a local organization for us, but I'm completely in the dark about who it is." Peter shrugged helplessly. Harry then moved on to other topics: "Well, at least we can have a few days of fun in Lisbon, right? I heard the beaches in Lisbon are great. Maybe there will be lots of beautiful older girls."

Peter looked at Harry in surprise.

"First of all, it's only February."

Harry naturally refuted Peter: "First, this is Southern Europe."

Peter: ...

"Secondly, you have a girlfriend."

"Yeah, speaking of that." Harry suddenly stopped talking, but Peter could probably guess what he was going to say—he was likely wondering if Liz brought a swimsuit.

Peter didn't really want to talk about this topic. The plane had begun its descent, and the full view of the city of Lisbon gradually appeared outside the window. Peter was getting ready to disembark and, as per Fury's request, find the person Fury said could provide them with assistance.

So, after they got off the plane, they would have to "disappear" for a while.

"You have to realize how troublesome it is to deal with Jessica; she's incredibly smart," Felicia grumbled, carrying her suitcase as she walked through the staff corridor of Lisbon International Airport. Peter hummed in response while dragging his own suitcase and looking at his phone: "The envoy from this 'Wild Pack' is nearby? Why is it called that?"

"This unit originated from the anti-superhuman special forces during the former Soviet era. Its creation records can be traced back to the battles between the Soviet Union and Hydra during World War II, and it was later stationed in the Republic of Symkaria," Cindy informed Peter, sharing the information she obtained from inside S.H.I.E.L.D.: "After the collapse of the Soviet Union, this special forces unit was renamed the Wild Pack and became a security mercenary group, specifically recruiting retired special forces from various Eastern European countries."

A specially trained mercenary unit, anti-superhuman, and formerly Soviet... Nick Fury must have pulled some serious strings to find them—they barely had any connection to S.H.I.E.L.D. at all!

As he muttered, Peter and the others arrived at the door of a staff lounge. After Cindy knocked in a specific rhythm, the sound of the door lock unlocking came from inside. Cindy then tentatively placed her hand on the doorknob, before perplexedly tilting her head.

Her Spider-Sense was tingling.

"Alright, you two kids, please step aside."

Felicia smiled and took over the door. After a quick look, she chose a straightforward way to open it—she kicked it open, then swung her suitcase at the person inside. The person in the room seemed startled by the move and scrambled to dodge.

"Some people want to test our skill level, but they forget they aren't that great themselves."

Felicia shook her head and walked straight in. Peter and Cindy followed, seeing who the person preparing to strike was. It was a girl, not much older than them, with silver hair like Felicia, but wearing white tactical gear and clutching a dagger.

Undoubtedly, if they had opened the door normally, they would have had a confrontation with her dagger, but Felicia chose an unconventional way. The girl had no contingency plan for a flying suitcase and could only retreat two steps.

"Smashing people with a suitcase—you should be glad I didn't actually have a firearm ready, or your lousy suitcase wouldn't stop anything."

The young woman's (actually older than Peter) tone was not very polite, and Felicia wouldn't be polite either: "If you really had a firearm ready, it wouldn't be a suitcase waiting for you."

"You wouldn't have the chance to swing a suitcase either, American. So S.H.I.E.L.D. sent three high schoolers? Do I have to babysit?"

The girl put away her dagger and introduced herself: "Silvija Sablinova. You can call me Silvija, the support commander of the Wild Pack. Your boss is very generous and paid me a lot of money to look after you super-powered kids."

"Silvija Sablinova..." Peter repeated the name a couple of times before suddenly realizing: "Wait, Silver Sable?"

"If you ever plan to hire the Wild Pack for a job, you can call me that. Right now..."

"Don't act like the boss." Felicia interrupted Silvija unceremoniously: "You aren't much older than us."

"I at least graduated high school, which is better than you."

"You don't even have any superpowers. Your physical condition is just that of a trained human."

"Wanna try me? I've arrested and killed more super-powered criminals than you've probably ever met."

Felicia actually laughed: "Really? I've never heard of any super-powered crime in Europe. New York is much livelier than here."

"That's because we take care of them before they make trouble. Only you Americans wait until super-powered criminals are running wild in the streets before trying to catch them."

"Are you two fighting because you both have silver hair? Are you repelled by your own kind?"

Peter's single sentence interrupted the two of them. Black Cat and Silver Sable both looked at Peter Parker with looks of displeasure. Peter raised his hands in surrender: "I was just trying to lighten the mood, and also... Isn't the person here with the most experience, who has saved the most worlds, me?"
