Chapter 456 - Chapter 455: Juggernaut Stands Atop the Raft

Electro's intense surge caused Peter to temporarily lose consciousness, falling to the ground. Had the Sinister Six chosen to stay, they might have achieved a total victory by relying on Electro's sacrifice—though even that was unlikely.

Before the impact hit, Peter had anticipated the situation and modified the spell he was casting into an Astral Projection. His astral form appeared around his physical body, allowing him to continue fighting the Sinister Six in that state.

Furthermore, even if he had been unable to fight and had simply passed out, the Sinister Six likely wouldn't have had the time to eliminate Spider-Man. Peter had overheard the news: the Fantastic Four had arrived.

"...I don't believe Otto developed teleportation technology on his own."

Looking at the breach torn open by Doctor Octopus, Peter sighed and returned to his body, regaining consciousness. Once the Sinister Six had departed, all his abilities returned to him.

"If only Venom were out of its recovery period. Ever since the battle with the Green Goblin, Venom hasn't been at full strength; it's like it has chronic fatigue or something."

After a few helpless complaints about Venom, Peter intended to continue rounding up the escaped prisoners. Otto was undoubtedly well-prepared. Whether it was his clone resurrection plan or the rescue of Electro, these were events Peter hadn't anticipated. He couldn't have judged this prison break based on things he simply didn't know.

But what was Otto's goal this time? Just to assemble a Sinister Six to deal with him? Releasing hundreds of super-villains just for that?

This was no longer just a crime; it was a terrorist attack. He had to hit them hard.

"I hope I can get in touch with Frank or Logan for help, if they're available. Otto is surely still planning his revenge against Osborn as always. As long as that's certain, he'll be easy to deal with."

Peter moved forward as he spoke and soon saw Wanda running toward him. Wanda used her chaos energy to slam a generic henchman no one recognized against a wall, then rushed over to check on him. "Are you alright, Spider-Man? Pietro told me you were in a hard fight."

"That group gave up the fight and teleported away the moment they heard the Fantastic Four were coming."

Wanda looked confused at the mention of teleportation. Peter didn't know how to explain it easily, so he simply asked, "Wait, why are you alone? Where are the others?"

"The Fantastic Four went to deal with an incredibly terrifying individual. Dr. Pym said he's the most dangerous prisoner in the entire jail; the whole Avengers team combined might not be able to beat him."

It was Quicksilver who spoke. He ran over before Wanda could open her mouth and briefly explained the situation: "Dr. Pym is quite badly injured and is resting now; Wasp is looking after him. We have to deal with the remaining prisoners. The good news is I've taken care of most of them. The bad news is that I mostly handled the ones with no fighting power. The ones left are all major trouble."

"A super-enemy who can take on the entire Avengers?"

Peter found it hard to believe. He didn't remember anyone like that on the list. Had some big shot been locked up in the last few days without his knowledge? "Who is it?"

"He said his name is, uh, Juggernaut. He's Professor Charles's younger stepbrother." Quicksilver rubbed his head. "A brother nearly twenty years younger than himself. That's pretty rare."

...Your old man had kids at seventy, I think he's the rarer case.

But could Juggernaut really fight the entire Avengers? Peter felt it was a bit absurd, but then he realized—if it were a future version of the Avengers, perhaps not, but the current Avengers were still in their early stages. Juggernaut probably was indeed a massive problem for them right now.

Could the Fantastic Four handle him?

"I want to appeal! I want to file a complaint! The evil Magneto's son locked me in here and forced me into prisoner's clothes! I'm actually innocent!"

Deadpool was locked in a room barricaded with furniture, shouting helplessly. Facing his roars, the Thing, who didn't recognize him at all, leaned in curiously. He peered through the gaps in the furniture at Deadpool, but upon seeing Wade's "handsome" face, he immediately recoiled.

The Human Torch, flying nearby, saw a very human-like expression appear on that stone face and asked playfully, "What did you see?"

"I don't know. Probably a bad guy. He doesn't look like a good person, anyway."

"I heard that, big guy! I heard that! That is blatant discrimination against the disabled! Tomorrow, I'm going to lead a protest at the government gates against the famous superhero 'That Thing' for suspected discrimination! A guy with no ears and only four fingers has the nerve to talk about someone else's face!"

"He's trying to provoke me into opening the door." The Thing looked at the Human Torch with a grin. "I'm not falling for it."

"I suggest you better let me out, or you're going to be in big trouble!" Deadpool shouted feebly. Suddenly, he seemed to hear something, and his expression turned to one of utter shock. He heard very heavy footsteps, as if some terrifying monster was treading closer step by step. Wade seemed to realize something and immediately screamed, "Wait! No! Never mind! Don't you dare let me out!"

"Looks like the big guy Pym mentioned is coming."

The Thing grinned and cracked his knuckles, looking ahead. Then, he saw a figure tear through the wall in front of them and step out. The person was exceptionally tall, over a head taller than both Hulk and the Thing. For some reason, he was still wearing a suit of heavy red metal armor.

Why hadn't the Avengers stripped him of his armor?

"Sorry, pal. Whoever you are, you'd better head back to your cell." The Human Torch flew out first, stopping in front of Juggernaut. "You're a criminal; you should have a little criminal self-awareness."

Juggernaut looked at the Human Torch and uttered a single word with utter indifference.

"Move."

"You're doing this the hard way, buddy!" The Human Torch immediately went full power, unleashing a torrent of flames at Juggernaut. To this, Juggernaut had only one reaction: he stood perfectly still, soaking in the flames. His red metal armor began to radiate terrifying heat. He peered through the eye-slits of his domed helmet at the Human Torch and narrowed his eyes.

Then, he reached out, grabbed the Human Torch by the head, and slammed him violently into the ground.

"Is that all you can do?"

"Of course not," the Human Torch mumbled incoherently from the floor. "I've got backup."
