Chapter 563 - Chapter 563: Everything Returns to Calm?

July 1st, an ordinary day.

It was as if Kang's Dynasty had never existed. The vast majority of people in the world had no memory of its presence; only the heroes who participated in the final battle remembered what had happened. Of course, even they did not remember many of the details regarding the final resolution of events.

Thus, after speaking with the others, Peter took some time to visit a bar while wearing his Anti-Venom suit, finding a seat and sitting down.

"Minors aren't allowed to drink," Bruce Banner joked. Peter sat down helplessly: "That's one of the perks of being Spider-Man. In reality, no one suspects Spider-Man is a minor."

"So, what exactly happened in the end? All we remember is a flash of blue light, and by the next day, everything seemed normal."

Logan looked at Peter with uncertainty: "We all know Korvac set everything back on the right track, but what were the specifics?"

"Kang is dead. At least, the Kang the Conqueror we knew is dead, along with all the variants he summoned. As for Kang's Time Stone, Strange took it, as he felt it was unreasonable for two Infinity Stones to be kept under the supervision of the scientific side."

After all that wandering, the Time Stone had ended up back in Strange's hands. As for Kang, he was utterly destroyed by a casual strike from Korvac; at the very least, no version of Kang existed in the 21st century anymore.

Simultaneously, the survivors among the cloned superheroes would return to the 31st century before reality was fully restored. They would become the new heroes of that era, protecting their world.

"There are a few people who weren't resurrected, such as Zemo and Sinister. After all, everyone who participated in the battle against Kang remembers everything—or rather, that is the true reality."

The month of June preserved in the memories of others was one without Kang's Dynasty. While everyone else held a more logical and normal memory of this June, the heroes simultaneously remembered the events of Kang's Dynasty.

The world had basically returned to its original state. Aside from Kang, Zemo, and Sinister, no one was hurt—though Peter secretly wondered if Sinister was truly dead.

Furthermore, Dr. Pym began deleting all of Ultron's programming, and Professor X returned to the Academy. Everyone was gathered together like never before, and everything seemed to be moving in a better direction.

Though Doom hadn't died, he had been stabbed by Logan's claws and had sold out his allies only to gain absolutely nothing. It was truly a case of "losing the bait along with the fish."

After hearing all this, Banner couldn't help but ask.

"What about Korvac?"

"He left. Just as we knew before, he used the majority of his power to create a logical June without loopholes or problems. He tore himself apart and went back to the past to provide us with the clues needed to defeat Kang."

After Peter finished, he looked at the group: "Well, even though I can't drink, perhaps this is the last time the New Fantastic Four gathers?"

"I still think the name 'New Fantastic Four' isn't any good."

Logan spoke while looking at the others: "Let's change it, even if this is a one-time team."

Peter looked at the other three: Spider-Man, Wolverine, Ghost Rider, Hulk...

He thought of an obscure Marvel team.

"How about the Circle of Four?"

...

Was everything truly as Peter Parker said? Or rather, was everything truly fixed exactly as Korvac had designed?

Perhaps so, or perhaps not.

Many things were still silently progressing.

For example, on Hydra Island in the Pacific, Hydra scientists were studying a corpse. This body belonged to Otto Octavius, who had died a month ago in battle against Spider-Man.

Make no mistake, Doctor Octopus was definitely dead, but there were other things on him worth salvaging. Through S.H.I.E.L.D., Hydra had managed to obtain the body.

"Fragments of the symbiote that originally bonded with Spider-Man, plus the artificial symbiote tissue on Otto's body—by combining these with the data Otto left behind, we can create a symbiote that possesses most of Spider-Man's abilities, just like Sample No. 1."

Arnim Zola introduced his plan to Hydra's new leader, Madame Hydra (Viper): "And according to Otto's notes, a living symbiote is influenced by its original host. Therefore, I have selected a sufficiently excellent host for him."

"Sufficient to defeat Spider-Man?"

"Sufficient to kill Spider-Man."

Arnim Zola watched the active, brand-new red symbiote being born from Otto's cloned corpse and smiled: "Trust me, Madame."

"This will be a Maximum Carnage."

"...I don't care much about that. I want to know why Lord Zemo has gone missing."

"He participated in a battle—a battle in which everyone believes he died."

Zola explained as they walked: "Only by making everyone believe you are dead can you better masquerade as someone else, Madame."

Viper shot Zola a glance. She didn't know how much of what Zola said was true, but regardless, Project Insight was ready to move forward officially.

Meanwhile, at the New York Sanctum Sanctorum, Strange was summarizing the traces of Mephisto he had found recently. He was still unsure what exactly Mephisto had brought to Earth-616, but he already had clues.

However, he was short-staffed.

"Perhaps I should form an Avengers team of my own?"

Strange spoke half-jokingly, but then suddenly turned serious, summoning a list with magic.

Spider-Man, Magik, Scarlet Witch, Ghost Rider... These magic-related heroes could very well become a team specifically targeting magical enemies—a team unlike the Avengers, responsible for fighting enemies in the darkness that people did not understand: The Midnight Sons.

Perhaps he could recruit even more people to build a true "Avengers of the Magic World."

Finally, back in 2012, somewhere in the universe.

A rift in space-time opened. Korvac, having restored his full functions and expanded his persona, flew beyond the Multiverse. He saw a great door open. Then, from within the gateway, a figure reached out a hand toward Korvac.

"Welcome, young Cosmic Cube. You will continue to grow here until you awaken to your true self." The figure looked at him kindly: "You will become one of us; you will become a brand-new Beyonder."

"Oh, uh... thank you..."

Korvac spoke bashfully, but then noticed another figure standing behind the gateway. He was shocked to see that person cross the barrier between realities directly, entering the Multiverse.

"That person is..."

"That is the most powerful existence among us, the Beyonder of Beyonders, representing the Beyonder who is the Beyond-Realm itself."
