Chapter 269: Are You Ready to Die Like a Dog?
As they drew closer to the central region, Lin Fan and his group could clearly sense the presence of several powerful and concealed auras.
Even here, Nine Yuan Nirvana Stage experts were not uncommon.
"All the other super sects have arrived," Lin Fan said, sweeping his gaze over the area. He soon spotted the various factions—including the Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace.
With the arrival of the Dao Sect disciples, numerous gazes turned toward them.
But when some saw who had arrived, their expressions changed into smirks, as if watching a good show.
Everyone knew that Yuan Gate would be present at the Burning Heaven Ancient Treasury.
And in most people's eyes, given the deep grudge between Dao Sect and Yuan Gate, the Dao Sect should have wisely avoided this place.
Yet here they were, openly walking into the lion's den.
It was clear that a clash between the two sides was inevitable—and people were eager to see the drama unfold.
"It's Big Brother Lin Fan!"
In the Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace camp, Su Rou spotted Lin Fan's group and immediately smiled with excitement.
"So Dao Sect came too…" Ling Qingzhu looked over, her brows subtly furrowing.
"What are they thinking? Do they not realize Yuan Gate is here? Do they take Yuan Cang and the others for harmless saints?"
Behind her, Wu Qun of Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace commented indifferently.
"Big Brother Lin Fan isn't the reckless type. If he brought the Dao Sect here, he's not afraid of Yuan Gate's intimidation," Su Rou quickly retorted.
"Oh? And do you think he can stand up to Yuan Gate's Three Kings?" Wu Qun smiled faintly.
Su Rou hesitated, then responded seriously, "He won't back down from them!"
"Perhaps," Wu Qun shrugged, not pressing further.
Meanwhile, across the basin, other major sects were also discussing the brewing storm between Dao Sect and Yuan Gate.
But unlike Su Rou, few outsiders supported Lin Fan or his group.
Most agreed that Dao Sect arriving here and risking an early confrontation with Yuan Gate was an unwise move.
Under countless watching eyes, the Dao Sect disciples descended into the center of the basin.
Xiao Xiao gave a gesture, and the disciples quickly sat down to cultivate.
Still, there was tension in their eyes, and they grouped in formations of five, forming several small battle teams—ready to fight at a moment's notice.
Not long after Dao Sect arrived, two disciples from Yuan Gate's camp walked out.
The pair made their way to two other forces—neither of which were part of the Eight Great Super Sects, but still carried significant influence.
Soon after, both factions stood up.
Then, under the gaze of the crowd, they slowly made their way toward the Dao Sect's position.
It was clear—they were not here to talk nicely.
"That's Ghost Blade Sect and Fire Cloud Sect," Xiao Xiao said, her voice heavy.
"Both are quite well-known in the Eastern Xuan Region, and they've always been close to Yuan Gate. They usually act under Yuan Gate's instructions."
As she spoke, the two groups closed in and stopped not far from Dao Sect's position.
From the Ghost Blade Sect, a black-clad man stepped forward, exuding a cold and sharp aura—a clear Nine Yuan Nirvana Stage expert.
From the Fire Cloud Sect, a red-robed man strolled out with a faint smile. Heat radiated from his relaxed movements.
"Ghost Blade Sect, Meng Duan."
"Fire Cloud Sect, Yang Huo."
The two cupped their fists with polite smiles—yet there was no warmth in them at all.
"Something you need?" Lin Fan asked coldly, barely lifting his eyelids.
"Hehe, I'm sure you know why we're here," Yang Huo said with a smile.
"Brother Yuan Cang doesn't want to see you here, so he sent us to deliver the message."
"If there's any problem, it can be settled at the final location. He's being generous by not starting trouble here. If you leave now, you might still walk out of the Domain unharmed."
Meng Duan added with a chuckle, "This is for your own good. What happened at the last Sect Competition… is best not repeated."
As their words landed, the Dao Sect disciples' faces turned dark.
Yuan Gate was too arrogant. Not only did they send this kind of warning, they didn't even come in person.
Instead, they sent pawns to deliver their threats—utter contempt.
Lin Fan remained calm, but his voice turned frigid. He stared directly at the two and said:
"So Yuan Gate doesn't dare show their faces and sends out their dogs instead?"
"If you're so eager to be their lapdogs—have you prepared to die like one?"
His voice was not concealed at all, and the words rang out clearly.
Yang Huo and Meng Duan's expressions froze instantly, and gasps of shock rippled through the crowd.
"You've got a death wish!"
The two men's faces twisted in fury. Yuan Power surged around them like a storm as they took a step forward.
But Lin Fan's eyes turned cold.
His hands moved in a blur, forming a strange seal.
"Stasis!"
A faint sound slipped from his lips.
Boom—!
Time froze.
Yang Huo and Meng Duan's bodies suddenly stiffened in place. Even the powerful Yuan Power surrounding them came to a grinding halt.
They looked like they were caught between time and space—completely immobilized.
In that instant, Lin Fan summoned two flaming spears, each swirling with fiery vortexes at the tips.
Then—he hurled them like lightning.
Boom!
The spears tore through space, trailing blazing tails, and instantly pierced through the chests of the two frozen enemies.
The stasis lasted only a split second—but Lin Fan had already acted.
As Yang Huo and Meng Duan regained their senses, they saw the spears impaling them—and terror filled their eyes.
"AHHH—!"
Their screams echoed as their bodies exploded into clouds of flame and blood, showering the sky with sparks like fireworks.
What…?!
The entire battlefield fell silent in the wake of the blast.
Everyone's expressions were frozen in disbelief.
