Chapter 350: Reverse Robbery, Shocking the Four Corners!
"Greetings, Senior," Lin Fan and Lin Dong exchanged a glance, then cupped their fists respectfully toward Mu Lan.
Though Mu Lan appeared to be only slightly older than them in appearance, they both knew well enough that he was likely an ancient being who had lived for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years. Addressing him as "senior" was more than appropriate.
"Heh, Lin Fan and Lin Dong… your names are already well known," Mu Lan chuckled, his tone enigmatic and knowing.
Lin Fan smiled politely. "The intelligence network of the Undying Whale Clan is truly impressive."
Mu Lan shook his head with a small smile. "It's not because of our clan's information network. Rather, it's due to an old friend of mine. This young man here—" He glanced at Lin Dong, "—cultivates a technique closely related to that old friend."
"You're referring to Senior Qing Zhi?" Lin Dong asked, clearly surprised.
Mu Lan nodded. "Not many juniors caught his eye back then. But after seeing you both today… I can see why he paid attention. You two are indeed quite remarkable."
"Thank you for the compliment, Senior," Lin Fan replied with a calm smile, while Lin Dong offered a humble bow.
"Grandpa Mu, what are you doing all the way out here?" Mu Lingshan asked suddenly.
Mu Lan sighed. "It's because of you, of course. I received reports from the Blood Demon Shark Clan and grew worried. I thought I'd better come and check for myself."
"Ugh, those nasty sharks again," Lingshan muttered. "That old geezer Shen Liao even put a seal on me. If it weren't for Brother Lin Fan and Brother Lin Dong, I would've fallen into their hands."
Though Lin Fan hadn't originally intervened with the intention of saving her, Mu Lingshan had firmly associated his actions with her safety. And indeed, without him, her escape would have been far more difficult.
Hearing this, Mu Lan's eyes turned icy. He gently patted Lingshan's head and said, "Shen Liao, is it? Don't worry. I'll personally pay him a visit."
"The Blood Demon Shark Clan is getting too arrogant—daring to target someone from our Undying Whale Clan. It's time we reminded them who rules these waters."
He turned to Lingshan. "Still, a little girl like you wandering around is just too dangerous…"
"I'm not going back!" Lingshan immediately shook her head, eyes filled with rebellion and defiance.
Mu Lan sighed and tried to reason with her, but no matter how gentle or firm he became, Lingshan refused to budge.
After several minutes of back-and-forth, Mu Lan gave in.
Helplessly, he smiled and pulled the giggling Lingshan over to Lin Fan and Lin Dong.
"You two… this girl's determined to follow you," he said, cupping his fists. "So I'll have to trouble you both to look after her."
Lin Fan and Lin Dong glanced at each other, then at the little girl who was now winking and making faces at them.
Lin Fan laughed. "No need to be so formal, Senior. We've already traveled together for a while. She's our friend. As long as you don't object, she's welcome with us."
"Then I'll leave her in your care." Mu Lan nodded gratefully. "I've received an invitation from Qing Zhi and have other matters to attend to. I can't take her along."
Lin Fan didn't press for details.
"You're heading to the Heavenly Thunder Sea, aren't you?" Mu Lan asked, shifting the topic.
"We got one of the silver towers from Evil Wind Cave. It seems to be a key to a Reincarnation expert's dwelling. We couldn't pass up the opportunity," Lin Fan replied.
"Hmm… the Heavenly Thunder Sea is indeed… unique," Mu Lan mused. "If a Reincarnation Dwelling is going to appear anywhere, that's as good a place as any."
"You're familiar with it, Senior?" Lin Dong asked, curious.
"We're sea creatures," Mu Lan said with a smile. "Naturally, we know these waters better than most humans."
Mu Lan then gave them a brief overview of the Heavenly Thunder Sea, including dangers, terrain, and ancient rumors.
He also confirmed that there were three silver towers in total. The other two had already fallen into the hands of Xuantian Hall and Nine Nether Gate.
"Thank you for telling us all this," Lin Fan said sincerely.
"No need for thanks. Just be careful when you get there." Mu Lan paused, then added, "Though… judging from your strength, I doubt you'll have much to fear."
He gave them a few more words of advice—especially to Lingshan, urging her to listen to Lin Fan and Lin Dong, and not to act rashly.
Finally, Mu Lan took his leave.
After witnessing Lin Fan's overwhelming strength, he no longer felt the need to escort them personally.
With their goodbyes said, the trio once again boarded the Sea-Suppressing Profound Whale and set sail for the Heavenly Thunder Sea.
"Phew! That nagging old man finally left!"
Lingshan raised her tiny fists triumphantly and laughed like a little devil.
Lin Fan and Lin Dong exchanged amused looks.
However, their journey soon attracted attention.
Because of their unique and conspicuous mount, they caught the eyes of several pirate crews.
These weren't just any pirates, either. Most were infamous throughout the Chaos Demon Sea, known for slaughter and plunder.
When they saw a Sea-Suppressing Profound Whale carrying only three passengers, they saw an easy target—their eyes practically turned red with greed.
But they soon learned the error of their ways.
Lin Fan slaughtered them all.
Every pirate who charged at them was killed without mercy. Their corpses fed to sea beasts, their loot confiscated.
Lin Fan, Lin Dong, and Mu Lingshan began reverse-robbing their way across the sea, turning from prey to predators.
At the same time, a shocking piece of news exploded across the Chaos Demon Sea:
The Lord of Evil Wind Cave, Wu Xuan, was dead!
And not just dead—killed.
A major sect like Evil Wind Cave always maintained spiritual life imprints for its top elders and leaders. The moment they perished, the sect would know.
This was how Yuan Gate had learned about their fallen spiritual generals back in the Eastern Xuan Region.
A thousand miles away from Tianshang City, in one of the surrounding sea regions, Zhou Qian, Chen Ying, and their elite squads froze midair.
None of them moved.
The silence shattered as someone gasped, "How is this possible? Lord Wu Xuan is… dead?"
"He went to avenge the Scorpion Elder…"
"Which means… this has something to do with Lin Fan!"
"Impossible! How could Lin Fan kill someone at that level?!"
The chaos that followed was immediate—and deafening.
