Chapter 509: Hidden Motives, Temporary Ceasefire!

"Primordial Master…" The expressions of the Third King and the others shifted slightly as they gazed at the colossal figure wrapped in brilliant purple-gold light.

Hmph!

The Grand Heavenly Evil Demon King let out a low, guttural roar from its twisted maw. Dark demonic energy surged from its body to push back against the overwhelming purple-gold brilliance.

"You damn beast… you're harder to kill than I thought," the Primordial Master muttered with a shake of his massive head, his tone carrying a hint of regret.

Back in the day, they had paid a heavy price to seal the demon king. Who would've thought it would still manage to escape?

"You only succeeded back then because of trickery. If we had fought fair… the outcome might've been very different!" the demon king's sinister voice echoed across the skies.

"Not convinced? We can settle that now," the Primordial Master replied, war intent rising from his vast frame.

The Third King shot Lin Fan a long look, then said calmly, "There will be another day. But not today. When the time comes, don't expect us to show mercy."

He had already clashed briefly with Lin Fan and understood the current battlefield didn't favor them.

The Grand Heavenly Evil Demon King had just broken free and hadn't fully recovered. The Second and First Kings weren't present. If they fought now, it would be disadvantageous.

"If that day ever comes, perhaps we'll be the ones showing no mercy," the Flame Master said coldly.

"Flame Master, you shouldn't talk so big," the Fourth King sneered, his eyes filled with killing intent.

"This time, the ones who will fall… will be you. There will be no more second chances. This world will belong to our Demonic Race."

"Oh? I'd love to see you try," the Space Master said with a faint smile. His silver pupils gleamed with icy brilliance.

Tension surged between the two sides. Their power rippled through the air, clearly dividing the battlefield into zones of supreme pressure.

These were the peak existences of this world, and the fate of countless lives rested on their decisions.

"There will be a time… But not now," the Third King said, glancing again at Ying Huanhuan. "You're waiting for the Ice Master to fully awaken. We're waiting for the Heavenly King Hall to return. When both sides are ready—then we'll settle the ancient score."

He gave Ying Huanhuan one last look, then turned away. "We're leaving."

With a sweep of his sleeve, the Third King stirred the air into a vast whirlpool of demonic energy.

The swirling vortex swept up the remaining demons like a tide, retreating from the battlefield.

Soon, the darkness blanketing the land dispersed. Warm sunlight once again cascaded from above, shining down on Wu Hui Island.

Lin Fan watched this unfold and hesitated for a moment, but didn't pursue.

Though the battle hadn't lasted long, it had consumed a lot of his power—he was now at about sixty percent of his peak strength.

The Primordial Master had just emerged and likely hadn't fully recovered either. And Ying Huanhuan… was still far from being the Ice Master she once was.

If they were to engage in a full-scale battle now, even if they won—it would be a hollow victory.

Lin Fan couldn't bear to see the Flame Master, Space Master, or Primordial Master once again fall into deep sleep due to grievous wounds. Nor could he endure watching Ying Huanhuan be hurt again.

The truth was, neither side was ready for a final showdown.

Lin Fan had already made up his mind. Next, he would enter seclusion within the Ancestral Palace, using the divine statue to push his spiritual power to the Divine Palace Realm. Then, with Ling Qingzhu's help, he'd seek out the Plane Seed.

Once his strength was fully elevated and he held the Plane Seed in hand, he would have the absolute advantage needed to crush the Demon Kings—and even the Demon Emperor—without tragedy.

The Flame Master, Space Master, and Primordial Master seemed to have reached the same conclusion and made no move to stop the enemy's retreat.

As the demonic army vanished and the skies cleared, the Primordial Master's colossal form rapidly shrank, eventually transforming into a towering two-zhang-tall figure.

His skin shimmered with a purple-gold glow, and a staggering sense of might radiated from him. In terms of raw physical strength, he was likely unrivaled.

"Heh, thanks for holding the line," the Primordial Master said, cupping his fists toward Lin Fan with a smile.

Lin Fan returned the gesture with a nod. "No need for thanks, Senior. Against the Demonic Race, we stand as one."

"Well said!" the Primordial Master laughed heartily.

The Space Master looked at Lin Fan with visible approval.

The Flame Master, however, appeared more conflicted. Due to his past with Ying Huanhuan, he had once viewed Lin Fan with hostility—and he hadn't expected much from him.

But now, in just a few short months, Lin Fan had grown to match his level.

In fact, the Flame Master could even sense a subtle pressure from Lin Fan now.

He stared deeply at Lin Fan, exhaled softly, and looked toward Ying Huanhuan. "The Lord of Thunder and the Lord of Darkness should be arriving soon."

Lin Fan raised an eyebrow but wasn't surprised. "Let's head to the island and wait for them."

The others looked to Ying Huanhuan. She gave a light nod, then took Lin Fan's hand and led the way toward the island.

The three ancient masters followed behind, their eyes flickering as they exchanged glances.

"Lin Fan-ge, wait for us!" Qing Tan called out, rushing to follow with Lin Dong.

Wu Hui Island had descended into chaos after the battle, its terrain ravaged.

Lin Fan and the others made their way to a pavilion in the heart of the island.

Leaders from various factions in Tianfeng Sea followed at a distance, but none dared approach. Their eyes brimmed with awe—they had all witnessed the rise of the Primordial Master and could sense the terrifying auras of the others as well.

Some could vaguely guess their identities.

These were the legends of the ancient era—the peak powerhouses of all time.

Inside the pavilion, no one spoke.

Qing Tan's large eyes wandered curiously over the Flame Master, Space Master, and Primordial Master.

Ying Huanhuan sat beside Lin Fan, her ice-blue hair cascading past her waist. She idly twirled a lock of hair between her fingers.

The three ancient masters sat in silence, each lost in thought.

Lin Dong seemed nervous. Lin Fan, by contrast, sat completely still—like a mountain.

"They're here."

After an hour of silence, Ying Huanhuan lifted her gaze toward the horizon.
