Chapter 95 - The First Girlfriend's Fear

Nina arrived Saturday at six carrying the medium overnight bag from our first night. She wore dark leggings, a soft cream sweater, plus no makeup beyond the lip balm she applied inside my doorway. The ordinary outfit made her vulnerability more visible than the red dress ever had.

"Do you still want to stay?" I asked after closing the building entrance without locking my apartment door yet.

"Yes," she replied, placing the bag beside the exit where it remained reachable.

I asked what she wanted for dinner, then presented three delivery options instead of preparing another tailored meal. Nina chose grilled chicken bowls, split payment, plus sat beside me on the couch while we waited.

The first twenty ordinary minutes concerned no relationship structure or negotiation at all. She complained about an interview source changing every quotation after publication review, while I described a volunteer requesting a title that did not exist.
