Chapter 159 - Three Possible Noes

I read Agreement v2.0 twice before writing my refusal condition across the final page. The words felt severe because imagining exit required me to stop treating successful negotiation as proof every future version would remain acceptable. Love could motivate repair without obligating any person to remain through conduct she no longer accepted.

Our final trial meeting began Friday morning with Yuna's train leaving in four hours. We agreed that departure could end discussion without signature, preventing a clock from manufacturing consent through fear of unfinished business.

Nina placed her carefully printed draft copy beside our original signed relationship agreement. Thea carried handwritten notes, while Yuna kept her unsigned copy inside the same waterproof case holding selection documents.

"Each person names one condition that makes her refuse entry today or leave later. Nobody debates whether the condition is reasonable until the speaker finishes defining it," Nina said.
