Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: As Expected, Codename Amelia S Came to Deliver Benefits

Reid found himself momentarily speechless under Chang Wufei's accusations.

From a third-party perspective, Wufei's words seemed justified.

In the G Invasion worlds, Reid's usual approach was to take what he needed and leave, never concerning himself with how those worlds would develop afterward.

For instance, what would happen to this world without the Epyon Gundam? Reid neither cared nor had the capacity to intervene.

However, Reid wasn't one to burden himself unnecessarily. The system had presented the G Invasion battles precisely to involve him in warfare—honing his skills while scavenging technology from these parallel worlds.

Moreover, based on his deductions so far, Reid believed his impact on these worlds wasn't excessively destructive. After all, apart from the protagonist of MS 08th Team, he had spared the lives of all other main characters.

As long as Apsalus III was destroyed, the story of MS 08th Team wouldn't deviate from its historical course. Shiro Amada, the protagonist, would simply fade into obscurity after the events, playing no further role.

As for the other Gundam pilots who lost their machines—well, if losing their Gundams rendered them useless in their worlds, then they were destined to be mere pawns. Those in power could always replace them and proceed with their plans.

Reid now sensed the system's purpose had always been clear: everything was geared toward ensuring he completed the salvation mission of his primary world. The system had made it plain—he was to act as a risk manager, preventing anything that could lead to that world's destruction.

From the perspective of the G Universe system, these branching parallel worlds likely held little significance. If saving the main world required sacrifices in the parallel worlds, so be it. As long as the main world endured, countless parallel worlds could be spawned anew.

This was a classic case of "the universe is merciless, treating all things as expendable."

While Reid himself didn't place much value on these G Invasion worlds either, he couldn't outright dismiss them as unimportant.

Thus, in response to Wufei's accusations, Reid adopted an air of profundity and replied coolly:

"Treating the world as a playground? Willfully destroying it? What nonsense are you spouting? Do you have any idea what I've done in other worlds? And in the instances you've witnessed, where exactly have I caused destruction? You don't seriously think seizing a few Gundams counts as world-ending behavior, do you? How could a handful of Mobile Suits sway an entire world? What kind of world do you take this for?"

On the topic of worlds, Wufei—who had only just glimpsed the vastness beyond his well—was in no position to debate Reid.

Not stopping there, Reid immediately struck at Wufei's conscience:

"As for actively participating in war—how dare you, a Gundam pilot of the Meteor Project, point fingers at me? When your team descended to Earth, you indiscriminately attacked Earth Sphere Unified Nation bases across the globe, paving the way for OZ's rise to power and the ensuing rebellion.

To put it bluntly, the kindling for war would have piled up with or without you. But you Gundam pilots were the sparks that ignited the inferno. My involvement changes nothing—the blaze you started won't be easily extinguished.

So when it comes to wrecking this world, you Gundam pilots have done far more damage than I ever could. In fact, you're one of the root causes of this war."

Reid's words also left Chang Wufei silent, because he himself knew that as a Gundam pilot, his initial purpose was to break the oppression of space colonists under the Earth Sphere Unified Nation's OZ.

The outcome was clear to all—OZ used the Gundams' attacks to incite rebellion and nearly took control of Earth.

Then it escalated into infighting within OZ (Wufei was unaware that space colonists had also formed White Fang), turning Earth into a complete battlefield.

After his silence, Chang Wufei firmly declared:

"Precisely because of this, I must use the G Generation System to directly eliminate war and create a world where Earth and space colonists can coexist in harmony. Only a world management system can achieve such a miracle."

Hearing this, Reid thought, Not this reasoning again. Codename: Amelia S really has a one-trick pony approach, doesn't she?

So Reid could only refute once more:

"If only the world could be saved so easily. The cost of directly eliminating war is piling up infinite kindling that could ignite conflict, then snuffing out every spark that could light it—until the world itself can no longer bear the pressure and explodes. That's when you'd have a true 'no survivors' scenario."

"And do you even know how the G Generation System would eliminate war? Have you considered that its method might be to erase the very source of war? What if you accidentally delete the entire human race with a single click?"

Chang Wufei clearly didn't accept this answer, dismissing it as alarmist, and retorted:

"Hah, how do you know it won't work unless we try? Have you already experimented with it?"

Reid felt exasperated—this guy was impossible to reason with. How could anyone even experiment with something like this? Who'd take responsibility if things go wrong? So he stated decisively:

"Such a dangerous experiment is absolutely forbidden. Otherwise, do you think Codename: Amelia S—a former system administrator—was sealed away for no reason?"

"She became a relic of the past precisely because her dictatorial rule over multiple worlds overloaded the G Generation System until it self-destructed. And now you want to aid her in destroying countless newborn worlds all over again?"

Here, Reid deliberately mentioned Codename: Amelia S being sealed to test Wufei—to see if she had already broken free.

Wufei didn't catch the implication. At a loss for words, he opened the cockpit of the Altron Gundam EW and stepped out, saying solemnly:

"I can't bring myself to believe what you're saying, but I have to admit the risks you mentioned might be real. So, I'll investigate further. However, per our wager, my life is yours to take. What do you say now?"

Hearing this, Reid knew Codename: Amelia S was likely still sealed—after all, Wufei hadn't denied the sealing at all.

This eased Reid's mind somewhat. A freely mobile Codename: Amelia S and one limited to pulling strings from the shadows were threats on entirely different levels.

But given how little Wufei trusted him, recruitment was impossible. Killing him outright seemed pointless too—Codename: Amelia S could always find others to manipulate. So why not plant a landmine for her instead?

Moreover, Chang Wufei was far easier to manipulate than Teletha. When talking to Teletha, the only slip-up had been due to flawed intelligence from Codename: Amelia S. Otherwise, Teletha hadn't revealed a single piece of information. But Wufei? A simple bluff was enough to extract intel about Codename: Amelia S still being in a sealed state.

Thus, Reid decisively replied:

"Your life is worthless to me. I have no use for it."

Upon hearing this, Wufei nodded, and red code began to envelop his body—clearly preparing to exit this world.

Still, Reid felt somewhat dissatisfied with letting him leave just like that and added:

"Oh, by the way, I lied to you earlier. My name isn't Rau Le Creuset—it's Reid Isaac. If you end up dying while investigating Codename: Amelia S, make sure your soul comes to find me and tells me exactly what's going on over there."

At these words, Wufei's anger flared up again. In his eyes, only despicable cowards would leave behind a fake name... Well, then again, this Reid Isaac had never exactly hidden his underhanded nature.

And so, Wufei teleported away in a huff. At the same time, the Altron Gundam EW dissolved into red code and vanished completely.

With Wufei gone and the Epyon Gundam captured, the battle in Luxembourg had come to an end. The Duras at the castle had disappeared, and the Romefeller Foundation didn't seem inclined to deploy any more MD Virgos.

Seeing this, Reid prepared to return as well. The Hermes Zero had been forced to maintain triple speed at Mach 3 in MS Mode within the atmosphere, leaving the Mobile Suit in need of repairs. In this state, there was no way it could head into space to cause trouble for the Wing Zero Gundam.

As for Treize Khushrenada, Reid judged that he would have already retreated from the castle after witnessing the Epyon Gundam's failure.

Right on cue, as if echoing Reid's thoughts, the castle where Treize Khushrenada had been suddenly self-destructed. The entire structure was blown to pieces, ensuring that all data on the Epyon Gundam inside was lost.

With that, Reid abandoned any thought of pursuing Treize. After retrieving an MD Virgo with over 70% integrity from the battlefield and reclaiming the Three-sided Yata-no-Kagami Shield, he promptly returned to the CE universe.

Back in the Factory Module, Reid followed routine and fed both the Epyon Gundam and the MD Virgo to the system.

Since it had been confirmed that Codename: Amelia S was still sealed, Reid decided there was no need to linger in the Factory Module for more than half a day this time. He immediately checked his gains.

180 Merit Points—combined with the unused points from the previous two battles, Reid now had a total of 650, enough for six ten-draws. But there was no rush to summon characters; he could do that after leaving.

As for G-Coins, the rewards from this battle were decent. After all, among the mass-produced Mobile Suits in the Gundam universe, the MD Virgos were relatively high-performance. Even a Gundam like the Buster, which was completely countered by them, might end up getting wrecked if it faced a Virgo.

The Tri-Directional Circular Magnetic Shield alone was practically a bug-tier piece of equipment in the realm of mass-produced units. And on top of that, the MD Virgos were entirely constructed from AC Gundanium Alloy, giving them astonishing defensive capabilities—something no other grunt Mobile Suits could boast.

As for skills, since they were only fighting drone soldiers and Chang Wufei was an invader, the only notable drop from the battle was Heero's "Shooting Weapon Efficiency" skill again (which enhances the user's energy management for ranged weapons).

This skill was decent enough. Reid planned to equip Flay with it later, as she was the one in the team who loved full-barrage attacks the most. Given that future battles would likely be prolonged, it was better for her to manage her firepower properly—otherwise, she might find all her weapons still cooling down when she needed a Beam shot to fend off close-range enemies.

But what truly surprised Reid was the loot summary panel. This G Invasion had yielded something unprecedented—technology blueprints.

Reid even rubbed his eyes in disbelief and checked again. Indeed, there were three items in the loot list that had never appeared before:

-

MS Dragon-Type Frame Blueprint

-

Electromagnetic Armor Crafting Process

-

Butterfly Backpack System Blueprint

These were clearly dropped by the two Danazines and the Altron Gundam EW.

Reid hadn't seen these three Mobile Suits in the kill list earlier and assumed they were external units outside the system's control, meaning no rewards for destroying them. Yet, at the very end, they had given him such a massive surprise.

Leaving aside the MS Dragon-Type Frame Blueprint for now—it was essentially an MS beast-type frame, using a force distribution structure different from humanoid frames—the Electromagnetic Armor Crafting Process was far more interesting.

This could be widely applied to mass-produced units. The armor was essentially a budget version of Phase Shift Armor combined with a budget anti-beam coating. Against weapons like the Beam Spray Gun used by GMs in the 0079 era, Electromagnetic Armor could almost completely negate the damage. Its physical defense was only slightly weaker than Luna Titanium Alloy, meaning it could easily withstand large-caliber machine guns from Mobile Suits.

The best part? The crafting process wasn't overly complex. It could be manufactured even without a Factory Module, and the cost wasn't high—only marginally more expensive than High-Tensile Steel. While it was still power-hungry, compared to PS Armor, the cost-performance ratio was outstanding.

Moreover, this technology could be semi-publicized. Other nations would simply see it as a low-end, mass-produced version of PS Armor, not suspecting it to be alien technology.

As for the Butterfly Backpack System, it wasn't very compatible with most of the Gundams Reid currently had. For now, he'd keep it as a technical reserve and see if Tem Ray might use it to cook up something new later. Alternatively, a downgraded version could be adapted for the Assault GM Dominion.

All in all, seeing the Mobile Suits summoned by Amelia S's Transcendent Impact drop technology blueprints left Reid extremely satisfied. This was far more valuable than G-Coins or even Merit Points.

The reason Reid had only rolled three ten-pulls in the system's equipment pool so far was precisely because the rewards were too unpredictable. Now that even A-rank Mobile Suits could be produced with Factory Modules, most C-rank units were practically meaningless to him, and the tech was mostly redundant.

But Transcendent Impact Mobile Suits directly dropping blueprints? That was an entirely different story.

After all, fighting these units was practically free for Reid—since the Mobile Suits summoned by Transcendent Impact would most likely attack him anyway, he had no choice but to retaliate.

Reid had no confidence in persuading Teletha and Chang Wufei with just a few words. The next time they met, even if it was just for show in front of Amelia S, they would still summon Mobile Suits to attack.

However, both of them were kind-hearted people at their core. The seeds of suspicion had already been sown, and they would surely give Amelia S a surprise in the future.

If Amelia S summoned someone like Kowloon, Reid wouldn't show any mercy—such people should be crushed immediately. What they pursued was war itself, and they would only collude with Amelia S.

Now, Reid was almost looking forward to encountering Amelia S's next envoy. The more bizarre Mobile Suits they summoned, the better. It would be ideal if they could summon the Arcus II from Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon. That way, Ange's "exclusive weapon," the Villkiss, might have a chance to be developed into a Mobile Suit version.
