Mancini's POV
Immediately, the ladies left the house for their shopping. Dan came to the house, and we went in my car to a site Dan controlled, which had one of the major routes for the guns. The sun was already high when we got to the site. Dust rose from the ground as the cars pulled over.
Dan got out first. I followed, buttoning my coat slowly. The place was full of men. They didn't look like Dan's men either. Dan's men were not a lot and were not as macho as the ones I saw. Some wore dark jackets with no markings, others carried rifles slung over their shoulders.
The trucks that were supposed to arrive two nights ago were lined up, damaged, tires flat, and with bullet holes all over. I wondered what happened to them.
"Who's in charge today?" Dan asked one of the guards.
The man didn't even look at him. "He doesn't get through, Sir," he said. He didn't look at me, but we knew he was referring to me.
