With the vast sky available, Aerodactyl's speed was finally no longer restricted. It freely displayed its proud high-speed movement, disappearing completely from Charizard's field of vision as it flew back and forth.
'What a troublesome guy!' Charizard thought irritably, continuously spewing flames from his mouth to sweep the surroundings, intending to burn Aerodactyl's wings. Unfortunately, it was useless—Aerodactyl had already figured out Charizard's attack patterns and could predict the direction of the flame attacks in advance.
Sharp stone blades attacked again. Charizard immediately used Dragon Claw to shatter them, then flapped his massive wings and used Air Slash to attack in Aerodactyl's direction.
Seeing this, Aerodactyl's wings glowed with silver light as it used Steel Wing to withstand the power of Air Slash. It then used Agility to appear behind Charizard, baring its fangs and using Thunder Fang to bite Charizard's neck.
'I'm not afraid of electric current!' Charizard said disdainfully, using his electricity-charged right fist to strike Aerodactyl's wing hard.
'Oh no! That was a mistake!' The pain from the electric current made Aerodactyl cry out. Unlike Charizard, who could resist half the damage from Thunder Fang, Aerodactyl was hit with double effectiveness by Charizard's Thunder Punch and nearly lost its ability to battle.
'It looks like your stamina is almost depleted too. Let's both use our final moves!' Charizard said leisurely, barely giving this Sky King some face.
Aerodactyl couldn't help but chuckle softly and nodded in agreement to Charizard's request.
Aerodactyl flapped its wings to fly higher, then used all its strength to dive toward Charizard. The impact force created airflow that wrapped around Aerodactyl's front—it had used Giga Impact.
'Bring it on!' Charizard said excitedly, letting scorching flames cover his entire body. The flame-covered Charizard flapped his wings and similarly used Flare Blitz toward Aerodactyl.
The battle between Charizard and Aerodactyl had already attracted the attention of Charmeleon, who had been dozing earlier. Its gaze remained fixed on Charizard and Aerodactyl, yearning to participate in this powerful duel.
The battle between the two Pokémon also drew the attention of trainers who were preparing to leave. They were all shocked by the two Pokémon fighting in the sky above, questioning themselves whether they could be as strong as Charizard and Aerodactyl.
"What an intense battle! This is perfect footage!" a young reporter said excitedly, quickly taking out his camera to photograph the collision between Charizard and Aerodactyl.
Originally, the young reporter had wanted to photograph the excavated ancient fossils, but unexpectedly captured such a heart-stirring scene—this trip was definitely worthwhile.
The collision of the two powerful moves produced acrid smoke, and everyone watching eagerly anticipated the battle's outcome.
When the smoke completely cleared, Charizard spread his massive wings and let out a dragon roar that echoed all around, proving he was the victor of this match.
The Pokémon released by trainers all cowered in fear, trembling and lowering their heads in submission to Charizard's dragon aura.
The defeated Aerodactyl helplessly shook its head, acknowledging Charizard's strength, then fell powerlessly. Just as it was about to crash to the ground, the approaching Charizard caught it with his claws, preventing Aerodactyl from taking secondary damage.
'Couldn't you use a better position?' Aerodactyl said speechlessly, then closed its eyes powerlessly.
"Thank you for your hard work, Aerodactyl," Red said gently, throwing a Poké Ball from his waist to capture Aerodactyl and using his Pokédex to transfer it back to Professor Oak's laboratory.
"Well done, Charizard!" Red praised the victorious Charizard. The joyful Charizard nuzzled Red's cheek, completely lacking his previous dignified appearance and seeming as innocent as when he was a Charmander.
"Big Brother's Charizard really is amazing..." Ash said in amazement, staring at the dragon scales on Charizard's body for a moment. Would his own Charmeleon be able to have such a form when it evolved into Charizard?
"Roar—"
Seeing Ash focus all his attention on Charizard, the nearby Charmeleon angrily spat flames to teach Ash a lesson.
After attracting Red and Charizard's attention, Charmeleon "domineeringly" approached Charizard, looking at it with fighting intent. Charmeleon roared a few times at Red, indicating it wanted to duel with Charizard.
'Is this silly kid getting cocky? Did he forget about me so quickly?' Charizard was also amused by Charmeleon's comical display. He never expected that the little guy who had been completely dominated at Bill's Lighthouse would now dare to be arrogant enough to actively challenge him.
After seeing Charizard disdainfully shake his head, Charmeleon angrily stomped its feet, mistakenly thinking Charizard was looking down on its Charmeleon form and trying to force it to evolve.
Evolution light emanated from Charmeleon's body. Seeing this, both Red and Charizard simultaneously showed displeased expressions, then Charizard roared and forcibly interrupted Charmeleon's evolution.
Having its evolution forcibly interrupted, Charmeleon panted heavily to adjust its condition. Seeing this, Red immediately released his Viridian Power to heal Charmeleon's unaffected muscles.
"Too foolish—willing to sacrifice future talent for temporary strength," Red scolded. His stern tone made Charmeleon cower and lower its head, not daring to meet Red's angry gaze.
'Brat, if you can withstand my flames, I'll acknowledge your strength and agree to battle you,' Charizard said displeasedly. After seeing Charmeleon's stubbornness, and to prevent it from going down the wrong path in the future, Charizard decided to give Charmeleon a chance to challenge him.
"Charmeleon, just give up. Big Brother's Charizard isn't something you can defeat with your current strength," Ash advised. Although he trusted his Pokémon, Ash wasn't foolish enough to ignore reality—he didn't want his Charmeleon to go to its death like this.
Scorching flames shot from Charizard's mouth, and the thick pillar of fire instantly rushed toward Charmeleon's position. Charmeleon looked in shock at the approaching fire pillar, not understanding why it felt such fear. As a fellow Fire-type Pokémon, it instinctively wanted to dodge and avoid the fire pillar in front of it.
But the stubborn Charmeleon still chose to stand its ground, using its body to withstand the damage from the fire pillar. Charmeleon's entire body was burned by the flames—there wasn't a single intact spot.
"How is this possible! Even Charmeleon, being a Fire-type, can't handle Charizard's flames!" Ash said in shock, looking in disbelief at Charmeleon's burned body. His proud Charmeleon had such a vast difference in strength compared to Red's Charizard.
"Give it up, you can no longer battle." Sensing Charmeleon's persistent gaze, Red gently advised it to give up and stop torturing itself.
But Charmeleon refused to admit defeat, shouting provocatively to try to anger Charizard.
"How stubborn, just like Ash..." Red said helplessly, releasing his Viridian Power to heal the injuries on Charmeleon's body.
"Hey, Big Brother, I'm not like that!" Ash said embarrassedly, his face turning red.
At Red's signal, Charmeleon used Flamethrower. The scorching flames hit Charizard's body, but Charizard yawned dismissively.
After the flames ended, Charizard opened his mouth and absorbed all the flames into his belly, not forgetting to make a mocking retching sound, implying that Charmeleon's flames were weak.
"Seismic Toss!" Red commanded.
Charizard flapped his wings and flew in front of Charmeleon, forcibly grabbing Charmeleon's body with both arms, then quickly flew into the sky while continuously spinning like a ball.
The dizziness from spinning made Charmeleon dizzy, and it gave up any desire to struggle.
Seeing that Charmeleon had given up struggling, Charizard quickly flapped his wings to descend. Just as he was about to crash into the ground, he slammed Charmeleon down with a powerful throw, defeating it in one move.
