Warning: attempted sexual assault by third party
Calevik was walking diligently towards the parking lot where he had parked his car.
There were two reasons why he had bothered to come to school today.
One was that the liberal arts class was determined to be either "completed" or "not completed" solely based on attendance. For other classes, even if his attendance score was bad, he could get the lowest grade of D- if he just paid a little attention to the exam. But if he didn't attend the liberal arts class, it would be "not completed," and since it was required rather than optional, he would have to take the same class again later to graduate.
The other was that the liberal arts subject was physical education. He enjoyed moving his body. But after taking the yoga class for the first time today, he wondered if he could continue to take it.
If he got involved with that damn Pussycat like today in two weeks, he felt like his annoyance would explode. It was quite bothersome that he kept hanging around in front of him, but he wasn't really doing anything wrong, and if he took him seriously, he was so small that he didn't even make a handful, so he felt like he would only look ridiculous.
In any case, Calevik was held back by the Pumacat instructor after class because he had been absent from the first class two weeks ago. She was kind without any intention or ulterior motive, but for Calevik, those kinds of people were more difficult to deal with than those who were cold and impolite like him.
Had he been sick before, why was he late again today, was he upset because she had paired him with a Pussycat student…. He couldn't ignore the teacher's words or leave without answering, so he barely managed to escape after answering vaguely and perfunctorily.
But the sight that greeted him as soon as he came out of the gym was a spectacle. The Pussycat in question was bowing his head to Leon Mathias Krueger as if offering tribute, and was handing over cookies with both hands. Moreover, Leon was going even further and stroking his head.
Calevik was not at all surprised because he had heard Rudin agonizing over the gift he was going to give Leon in the car when they were moving to take physical measurements the week before last. Even if he hadn't heard that story, he was sure that there was no reason for him to be embarrassed at all. What did it matter to him whether the Pussycat liked Leon or not, or even if they were dating?
Calevik passed them indifferently. Witnessing them should not affect Calevik's mood in the slightest. It was right and natural. Whether Leon stroked Rudin or a passing stray cat, it was all the same to Calevik.
What started to make him feel uncomfortable was when he felt Rudin following him. The faint sound of his labored breathing, as if he was out of breath, was quite annoying. But he didn't think he would follow him.
"Cale, Calevik…."
When he heard a small voice calling him, Calevik wanted to run away. He didn't want to see Rudin, and he didn't want to face him. He didn't want to know why he had followed him, and he didn't want to hear what had happened with Leon.
Right now, Rudin's very existence was endlessly uncomfortable.
"Um… Cale…."
When he heard the calling sound again, Calevik increased his pace. If he, who already had long legs, walked with all his might, the Pussycat with his poor stamina, who was panting even with a little running, would never be able to follow him.
Calevik wandered around places where he had no business to shake off Rudin. He usually only went between the new building where the fashion design classrooms were located and the parking lot, and he never visited the library or the student union building.
As Calevik appeared here and there on campus, posts such as 「Calevik appeared in front of Eureka Lake!」 and 「Calevik appeared in front of the university headquarters – the real thing is amazing」 were uploaded one after another to FDS Caniversity. Calevik didn't look at Caniversity at all, but his classmates, including Leon, were puzzled as to why Calevik was wandering around the school.
As Calevik was walking aimlessly, he suddenly turned around and saw that Rudin was nowhere to be seen. Only then relieved, he walked towards the place where his car was parked. He wanted to get in his car quickly and escape from this damn school and hole up quietly in his own safe area.
When he finally arrived in front of his car, Calevik found something lying next to the wheel on the driver's side. It was a common black crossbody bag.
What caught his eye was not the bag but the keyring hanging on the ring. It was a doll about 10cm in size with large rabbit ears on its head, wearing a cute hoodie and jeans.
Although it was much smaller, it was too similar to the doll he had seen on Rudin's workbench at home to ignore. But it was possible that this kind of doll was becoming popular without Calevik knowing it.
In any case, he was very uneasy about the fact that this bag had fallen in front of his car as if it had been targeted. After hesitating for a moment, he opened the bag. It was something he would never have done normally.
Inside the bag were a design theory book, a sketchbook, and a pencil case. When he turned the sketchbook, there were fashion illustrations drawn on each page. Calevik, who had been flipping through them without much thought, suddenly blushed.
The excessively strange designs of clothes that he had deliberately chosen to wear were being reborn as very fashionable combinations with different items. He was really dumbfounded that this stalker-like Pussycat had memorized the clothes he had been wearing and was doing this on his own.
After turning the sketchbook to the end and closing the back cover, the name "Rudin Greenwood" was written as if confessing. As expected, this bag was definitely Rudin's. But he didn't understand why Rudin, who he had lost track of while following him, had bothered to come to the place where his car was and drop the bag.
At that moment, he heard a strange sound. It sounded like sobbing, or perhaps pleading. It was a very faint sound coming from quite a distance, but as Cale was a white tiger, the Tigercat with the best hearing among the superior species, he noticed the sound and felt something was amiss.
The keyring attached to his bag seemed to be desperately looking at him with its blue eyes.
Could it be…
Cale opened the back door and tossed Rudin's bag inside, then trudged towards the source of the sound. The sound was coming from a small guardhouse near the parking lot. It looked old and neglected, as if it hadn't been used in a long time. Weeds grew rampant around the guardhouse.
"Hngh… Don't! Let me out!"
"Why are you like this? I just want to have some fun. Don't you want to do it with a superior species?"
"Don't! Don't come near me!"
"You were so excited during yoga class, lifting your butt up high. Didn't you want anyone to fuck you? I can smell something strange right now, you even wear perfume to seduce men, but you're pretending you're not."
"Hngh…! Don't say such ridiculous things! If you come any closer, I'll, I'll stab you with this!"
Cale peeked inside through the broken window of the guardhouse and was dumbfounded. Mikhail and Cresus were threatening Rudin. Rudin's face was flushed red, and his eyes were filled with tears as he wildly swung a cleaning grabber, but Mikhail easily grabbed it and snatched it away.
"I don't want to! I said I don't want to! Huff, go away! You bad bastards!"
"What should we do? Should we gag him?"
"Wait a minute. If we stuff his socks in his mouth, he'll be quiet… Aargh!"
Mikhail, who was bending down to take off Rudin's shoes, had his shoulder violently jerked back, and his body fell backward. Cresus, who didn't know what was going on, soon suffered the same fate.
"What the fuck…!"
Mikhail rubbed the back of his head and looked up, freezing as soon as he saw the cold blue eyes of the large man standing before him.
"C- Cale…"
"Get lost."
"No, listen to me! It's not like that, that Pussycat started seducing us first…"
"I said get lost."
The oppressive aura of the Tigercat descended upon them, and Mikhail and Cresus felt a terror that made it difficult to breathe. Cresus, who barely managed to regain his senses first, nudged Mikhail and gave him a look. Hesitantly, they got up and quickly ran out.
Cale glared at their retreating figures with contempt, then finally turned to Rudin, who was in the corner.
"Hey. Are you okay…"
Cale's usually long eyes widened up and down.
Rudin was nowhere to be seen in the spot where he had been crouching and sobbing. Only the clothes he had been wearing were scattered on the floor. It was as if the person had vanished like smoke.
But something was strange. The light gray t-shirt was rising and falling rhythmically. Cale cautiously approached the spot where Rudin's clothes were scattered.
Could he have transformed? He had heard somewhere that unlike the superior species, who were good at controlling their transformations, Pussycats could turn into cats against their will when they experienced a major emotional shock.
In any case, he had to see for himself. Cale carefully moved the t-shirt aside.
There, a tiny light brown cat was lying unconscious.
It was lying on its side, revealing the soft, pure white fur on its belly. It was breathing, but its eyes were closed, so it seemed to have lost consciousness.
The moment Cale carefully picked up the cat, he felt a dizzying sensation. Unspoken information that any feline beastmen could instinctively recognize, even if it wasn't tattooed somewhere on their body, struck his mind.
In a daze, Cale's lips moved on their own.
"A Snicat…"
"Listen carefully. Your birth mother is a filthy Snicat. Your father is a White Tigercat with superior blood and a conglomerate heir, so she flaunted her vulgar pheromones to seduce your father, hoping to change her fate by giving birth to you."
"If that bitch of a mother had even a shred of conscience or human heart, she would have come to see you. But she has never once been curious about you or even contacted you. She extorted tens of billions from your father using you as an excuse, so she's probably living lavishly somewhere with that money, isn't she?"
"Snicats are the shame of Feladia. Do you know where they gather the most? It's the red-light district, without a doubt. Because they are an inferior species that can't do anything but sell their bodies."
"You have an incurable defect. It's that the dirty blood of a Snicat flows in your veins. Even the child of a criminal wouldn't be more disgraceful than that. In the history of the Alstadt Family, there has never been anyone as troublesome as you. The stench of cheap blood will waft from your body, so make sure to wash yourself thoroughly every day."
Snicat.
The Snicat that his stepmother Charlotte had told him was so filthy, vulgar, and inferior that his ears bled from hearing it.
The same Snicat as his mother, whom he had longed for his entire life, desperately clinging to the fading memories and stuffing them into his heart.
That very Snicat was in Calevik's arms. He felt so small and light that the phrase 'a handful' was not an exaggeration. In Calevik's memory, his mother had always felt like a large, strong, and all-capable superwoman, but was she actually this small?
He could feel Rudin, who had turned into a cat, trembling without even opening his eyes. It would be a disaster if anyone were to see this by chance. Calevik picked up Rudin's discarded T-shirt and wrapped it around his body.
Calevik held Rudin in one arm and gathered his pants and sneakers with the other, then exited the guard post. Fortunately, Mikhail and Cresus were nowhere to be seen. If he hadn't found Rudin, he couldn't help but imagine what might have happened, and Calevik was deeply disturbed.
Rudin, in a state of danger, would have been unable to withstand the shock and transformed into a cat in front of them, and they would have immediately realized that Rudin was a Snicat. Since beastmen cannot maintain their animal form for more than 12 hours at most, Rudin would soon have returned to his human form.
And after that, he might never have seen the light of day again….
Arriving at the place where he had parked his car, Calevik put Rudin's pants and shoes in the back seat where his bag was, and carefully placed Rudin, wrapped in the T-shirt, on the passenger seat. He got into the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove off.
Only after leaving the campus and reaching the main road did Calevik let out a shallow sigh of relief.
What to do now…
He knew where Rudin's house was, but even if he went there, he wouldn't be able to enter immediately because he didn't know the door lock password. Calevik was reluctant to go to a hotel or similar place with a cat because he was somewhat well-known.
In the end, the safest place to avoid people's attention was his own home.
Calevik decided to take care of one thing that bothered him in advance, in case it became troublesome later. He pressed the voice recognition button in the car and said,
"Call Bernard."
– Calling Bernard.
The artificial intelligence system linked to his phone responded. As expected, Bernard answered the phone before the second ring, his voice cheerful.
"Yes, Young Master. This is Bernard."
"Turn off the CCTV in front of my apartment elevator and front door in 10 minutes."
"When should I turn it back on?"
"When I call you."
Calevik was about to hang up the phone when Bernard's urgent voice stopped him.
"Just a moment, young master. I apologize for saying this, but Madam told me to report even the smallest thing about you."
Of course, she would. Calevik snorted as he listened to the 'Mother's loyal dog' trailing off.
"So?"
"I must report that I am turning off the CCTV in the penthouse elevator and in front of your apartment door, so I ask for your understanding."
Calevik's brow furrowed in annoyance.
"Since when did you get my permission to report?"
"…I'm sorry."
Without waiting any longer, Calevik pressed the end call button on the steering wheel. He couldn't help but sigh in annoyance.
There was a risk that his stepmother might be even more curious about who he was bringing home that he had to turn off the CCTV, but there was no other way. There was no way to explain how Calevik had entered the house alone, but a Pussycat young man came out shortly after.
He could make up an excuse, such as a school assignment, but in that case, there was no way to explain that he was in cat form when he entered. Creating a plausible scenario was tiring in many ways.
It would have been easier if Calevik had been a social person and had many people coming and going from his house, but unfortunately, Calevik was an outsider who never invited anyone to his house. The only people who visited his house were the cleaning staff and Bernard, who came to run errands.
Whatever. It'll work out somehow.
If Charlotte barged in and saw Rudin, who had just turned back into a human, naked and mistook him for something else, it would be quite amusing to watch her rage. Of course, considering the position of this faint-hearted cat, such a thing should never happen.
He sometimes imagined revealing to the world that he was not Charlotte's biological child. It would be like throwing dirt on the 'perfect married life' that she had worked so hard to build throughout her life.
The best husband who still only knew her even after 40 years of marriage. A hot and passionate marital relationship that allowed them to conceive a late-born youngest child 10 years after giving birth to four children in a row. A beautiful family like a painting that the whole nation envied the most among the many turbulent conglomerate families.
If Calevik revealed the secret of his birth, the crystal tower that Charlotte had built with so much effort throughout her life would crack and collapse.
"Calevik, the youngest son whom Charlotte had even publicly announced the results of a genetic test that he was her biological child, was actually an illegitimate child born from his father Geoffrey's affair! Moreover, his biological mother is a Snicat whom she usually despises!"
If this fact were to be known, it would be a sure thing to be ranked first in real-time search terms on various portal sites. It would be noisy for at least a few months. As much as it would cause such a big ripple, the announcement of the secret of his birth was a card that Calevik cherished without carelessly speaking it out.
Whether he could use that hidden card as a tool for negotiation to become free in the future, whether it would come or not, was still unknown.
Arriving at the underground parking lot, Calevik parked his car in his designated space. Rudin was still in cat form.
Listening to Rudin's body wrapped in the T-shirt, his breathing was regular and stable. Calevik got out of the car with the cat, which looked like just a bundle of T-shirts, in his arms.
Riding the penthouse-only elevator, Calevik glanced up at the ceiling. Judging by the fact that the CCTV was turned off, Bernard had already taken care of it.
Arriving at the top floor, Calevik opened the door lock and entered the house.
Once he arrived home, he wondered where to put Rudin. There was no guest room in Calevik's house, who hated people and never invited anyone. He would be naked when he woke up, so he couldn't just leave him anywhere.
After thinking about it, he had no choice but to go up to the duplex. Although it was a duplex, the floor height was high, so it was practically a second floor. There was a huge, high-end reclining bed that could be used to watch movies while lying down and could also be transformed into a sofa. Calevik was using the second floor as a cinema room.
Calevik put Rudin down on the bed and pulled off the T-shirt. The texture of the fur that touched his fingertips was very soft. Rudin, sleeping in cat form, looked so harmless that he didn't even feel the strangeness and discomfort of letting someone else into his most private area.
Rather, it was affectionate. If he wasn't a beastman who turned into a human, he might have even adopted him and taken care of him. If he only looked at the cat, not Rudin Greenwood.
Calevik covered Rudin's body with a thin, soft blanket. He didn't know if cats actually slept with blankets, but he thought he would be embarrassed if he had nothing to cover his naked body when he turned back into a human. He put Rudin's T-shirt, pants, and bag that he had brought from the car on the massage chair on the edge of the bed.
After watching Rudin, who was sleeping comfortably, for a while, Calevik went down the stairs and collapsed on the single sofa.
A subtle and sweet aftertaste lingered at the tip of his nose. It was as if the texture of the soft fur was still on his hands. He didn't know if all Pussycats who turned into cats had such soft fur, or if Rudin was particularly soft because he was a Snicat.
The memory of his mother was summoned again by the word 'Snicat'.
As far as Calevik remembered, his mother had never shown him her cat form. He had seen a picture of himself as a baby tiger being held by his mother on her cell phone.
"Mom is a cat, but why is Calevik a tiger?"
When Calevik asked, touching her cat ears while being held by his mother, she smiled faintly.
"Oh, well… Calevik's late father was a tiger."
"I don't like tigers. Calevik wants to be a cat just like Mom."
"Really? Mom really likes Calevik being a tiger. Later, if bad guys come to harass Mom, they'll be scared and run away when they see Calevik, who is a strong and big tiger."
"Hmm… is that so…"
"That's right! Mom is so proud of our Calevik. You're cool now, but you'll be even cooler when you become a big tiger."
It would have been better if that damn 'tiger father' had really passed away. That old man was almost seventy years old, but he was still energetic as if he would live for another hundred years.
"Did my biological mother really seduce my father on purpose because she wanted to change her fate by giving birth to me?"
The day Calevik made up his mind to ask when he was in high school, his father Geoffrey turned his gaze to the newspaper he was holding and mumbled.
"Well, I don't know. Who knows what's in people's hearts."
"Is it true that my biological mother received tens of billions from my father and sold me?"
It would have been better if that were the case. If this meager body was worth tens of billions, and if his mother was living well and eating well with that money, the huge anger that was dangerously surging every moment would have subsided a little.
"Did your mother say that?"
Geoffrey chuckled. Calevik could know the answer without him having to explain the meaning of that laugh.
"Can you contact her? Are you sure she's living well somewhere?"
"She's dead. I know that the death report has been completed."
Calevik's breath caught in his throat.
She was living well, she had received tens of billions in exchange for selling him, and she was living luxuriously, what was this all about?
"What do you mean… why, why did she die?"
"Drug addiction or something, I don't know the cause of death well."
"Drug addiction?"
He couldn't believe it. It was as if it was a trick to prevent him from finding his mother. Geoffrey said coldly to his youngest son, who was glaring at him with eyes that looked at something dirty, driving a wedge.
"Don't try to find out anymore. If you know that your mother, who is not related to you by a drop of blood, accepted you and raised you without anything lacking until this day, you should have at least a minimum of shame."
by misacchi
A person with at least a minimum of shame does not take it for granted that they do not know the life or death of their biological mother who gave birth to and raised them. He doesn't shamelessly mention the death of the woman who gave birth to his child like it's the story of a complete stranger. Who is the human being who doesn't even have the right to say the 'shame' consonant?
Sometimes he hated his mother so much. Calevik himself could not find his mother due to the control of the Alstadt Family and the surveillance of his stepmother, but his mother could easily find him if she wanted to. Yet, he resented her for not appearing until now.
He thought of three possibilities. She was no longer in this world, she had forgotten Calevik and was living well with another family, or she was living under surveillance and control like Calevik and could not contact Calevik at all.

But death from drug addiction. The mother in Calevik's memory was never a person who fit that description.
"Is there a grave? Or even a columbarium…"
"There's no way a drug addict would have something like that. If you had grown up in her hands, you would have grown up as a drug addict in all likelihood, so you should be grateful to your mother a hundred times over."
Far from being grateful, Calevik became even more twisted after that day. But remembering his mother became more and more heartbreaking and painful, so he tried not to recall her at all.
But…
Knowing that Rudin was a Snicat, the memory of his mother kept coming to mind uncontrollably.
Calevik tried to shake off the dark mood and watched internet news and played cell phone games while sprawled on the sofa. After a couple of hours passed, he suddenly wondered if he could just leave Rudin like that. Was he supposed to just leave him alone without taking any action?
He didn't have any close Pussycat friends at all, and he didn't know any Snicats even more, so he couldn't think of a way to do it. After thinking for a while, Calevik accessed a portal site on his smartphone.
"When Snicat is shocked"
"Time for Snicat to return to human form"
"If Snicat becomes a cat"
When he entered a few search terms, various information came up. Calevik touched a question posted on the 'Knowledge Cat' bulletin board.
Q. My friend is a Snicat and suddenly became a cat because he was shocked. It's been three hours now and he's still a cat, so I don't know what to do. Should I take him to the hospital?
A1. It depends on the person, but some kids don't turn back into human form until ten hours have passed.
↳ The time it takes for a Snicat to return to human form is between 1 and 12 hours, but it varies from person to person.
↳ Yes, my friend wakes up after filling twelve hours.
A2. What hospital, just make a lot of food. When he wakes up, he'll ask for food like he's been starving for three days
↳ Hahaha This is really true. I heard that if a Snicat becomes a cat by force because he was shocked, not because he transformed himself to rest, he's extremely hungry when he comes back
A3. Snicat friend… sniff… Can you introduce me? It's my lifelong wish to meet a Snicat
↳ Meet? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Does that mean you'll be satisfied with just looking? Really? Would you really?
↳ Don't sexually harass Snicats
↳ What did you do to get so angry? Is this Snicat himself appearing?
↳ It would be welcome if it was him. Snicats are pretty regardless of gender
A4. If his breathing is stable and his expression looks comfortable, just leave him alone. He'll wake up when the time comes
A5. My family is Snicat, and if they become a cat by force, you must feed them a lot of anything as soon as they wake up. They're very dizzy and have no strength in their body as if they haven't eaten for a week, not three days. They can't even walk alone
↳ Isn't this just a disability?
↳ Yes, Snicats are really a cancerous existence in society. They receive benefits such as tax cuts and medical insurance, but they don't help at all. So I think we should legally establish a system to contribute to the healthy expression of sexual desire as a public good. If we legalize prostitution by utilizing Snicats, there will be no worries about Snicat employment and sex crimes will be reduced, creating a happy society for everyone
↳ I agree! I second that! You to the National Assembly!
↳ Are you crazy? I feel like throwing up. I hope all the people who liked it die
↳ Seeing the trigger button pressed on the right words, Snicat himself has completed the authentication
Calevik, who had searched the internet, put down his smartphone and got up from the sofa. He had obtained the information that 'he will return on his own if you leave him alone', but there was an inexplicable feeling of unease.
While going to the refrigerator to drink water, he suddenly realized the cause of the unease. It was the annoyance stemming from the assumption that his mother had lived in such prejudice all her life.

Even ordinary Pussycats receive all kinds of grievances as a lower species, so how much more would Snicats, who are mutants of those Pussycats, receive. Furthermore, Rudin, a Snicat who can get pregnant and give birth to babies even though he is a male, may have lived every day feeling like he was walking on thin ice.
This experience of considering things from another person's perspective was quite unfamiliar to Calevik. If his biological mother hadn't been a Snicat, Calevik, who had never had to bow his head to anyone in his life, would never have even considered such a thing.
Calevik poured cool mineral water into a glass, added ice, and gulped it down. Suddenly, he remembered Rudin's reply: "Just make sure there's plenty of food." Come to think of it, he hadn't had lunch himself and was feeling hungry.
Wasn't it going too far to not only rescue him from danger and bring him home to rest but also to feed him? But it would be troublesome if Rudin didn't go back to his own place, claiming he was too weak from hunger. It would be better to feed him something and quickly send him away.
By the way, were there any foods that a Snicat shouldn't eat? Even though Snicats were people, their tastes would vary widely, but he was worried that there might be something that would kill him if he ate it.
Calevik rummaged through his old memories of his mother, the only Snicat he knew. His mother was holding him in her arms, reading a picture book.

"Toto filled his basket with fruit. Apples, grapes, strawberries, and tangerines filled the basket."
"Tangerines? What are tangerines?"
"Tangerines are similar to oranges in taste, but they're smaller and rounder. The peel is soft and easy to peel."
"I want to try them. Why haven't you ever bought me tangerines?"
"Haha, tangerines don't grow in this country. And I don't like tangerines."
"Why?"
"Hmm… they're a bit sour, I guess. I just haven't liked the taste and smell since I was little."
"Then what fruits do you like?"
"Strawberries and peaches. I also like Canakana. Now that you mention it, shall we go buy some fruit?"
"Yes! Hooray!"
That day, he and his mother went shopping, made delicious food, and ate plenty of fresh fruit. No matter how rare and precious the food Calevik ate while growing up in the Alstadt Family, it was never as delicious as the simple meals he had with his mother in a foreign country during his childhood.
Recalling those carefree and happy times, a faint smile appeared on Calevik's lips. However, his memories with his mother were like bones that had been simmered a thousand times to make broth. He had no new memories to draw upon when he was feeling tired and lonely.

His mother had passed away, and Calevik's heart was hollowed out. That hole would never be filled with anything.
Calevik opened the refrigerator. He saw the expensive ingredients that Bernard had stocked. He took out a thick sirloin steak for steaks and left it at room temperature, then washed and prepared various vegetables and seafood.
When did he start cooking for himself?
As far as Calevik could remember, it was in high school. At that time, a bizarre thing called "The Double-Edged Potion" was popular on the internet.
It involved adding more than 5cc of one's own blood to various ingredients, including vitamins and herbs, boiling it, and then cooling it. This was then mixed into a drink or food and given to the intended target. If love was desired, love would be achieved, and if a curse was desired, something bad would happen to the target.
The key here was "blood." Since blood was life, it was a rumor that one had to sacrifice a portion of their life force to complete the love or curse.
At first, everyone scoffed at the idea, but as countless unsubstantiated success stories appeared online, the number of people experimenting with the Two-Edged Potion for fun exploded.

Whether the purpose was love or a curse, eating someone else's blood, even in small amounts, was extremely unsettling. There were even cases where victims who unknowingly ate food containing the Double-Edged Potion reported it to the police.
Then one day, Calevik saw a newly hired Servalcat employee at the Alstadt Family's main residence secretly putting something into the stew he was going to eat.
Calevik had returned from school, feeling hungry, and asked the employee to prepare a snack for him, then went to his room to watch TV. While flipping through channels with the remote, he happened to see a screen showing the CCTV footage from various parts of the house. The main residence was such a large mansion that there were many security cameras installed throughout.
The employee in the kitchen seemed unaware that there was a CCTV camera in the cooking room, perhaps because she had not been employed for long. Calevik witnessed her taking out a small vial, opening the lid, pouring the contents into the stew bowl, and stirring it with a spoon in real-time.
A few moments later, when Calevik entered the kitchen, the employee presented him with a tomato stew containing beef and vegetables as if nothing had happened. When Calevik asked her to eat it herself, she hesitated, looking flustered. He took her directly to the cooking room and showed her the CCTV camera in the corner of the ceiling.
He gave the employee the choice of quitting on her own or having the police come and review the CCTV footage. She chose the former, tearfully packed her bags, and left as if fleeing.

Calevik later realized that he hadn't asked her whether her intention in using the potion was love or a curse. He had been too upset and had forgotten.
The "Two-Edged Potion" craze disappeared as quickly as it had appeared, but even after that, a sense of unease remained in a corner of Calevik's mind.
At the time, his father was away from home for more than 300 days out of the year. He claimed it was because he was busy with work, but Calevik thought he was just avoiding his stepmother and enjoying himself elsewhere. His half-siblings had already become independent, and his stepmother had many social gatherings, so Calevik often ate alone at the main residence.
But after the Double-Edged Potion incident, he felt nauseous whenever he tried to eat food at home. This was despite knowing that most of the employees were honest and diligent.
Did that Servalcat want Calevik's love? She had only been hired recently, and they had never even had a simple conversation, let alone a proper one. If she had fallen for Calevik, it would have been solely because of his appearance and wealth, like so many others who had approached him.
Or was the employee trying to curse Calevik? Did she dislike him because he seemed curt and fierce? Did she find him annoying because he was the son of a superior species employer and arrogant to boot?
Bernard stocked the ingredients twice a week. He was always careful when shopping, perhaps because he was tired of Calevik's threat that if any of the ingredients were not fresh or the packaging was opened, he would assume that Bernard had personally injected poison into them.
Today's ingredients were quite satisfactory. Calevik seasoned the thick sirloin steak and let it age, then put it in the oven. He figured he would eat first, since he didn't know when Rudin would wake up.
If Rudin woke up late after he had finished eating and insisted on staying because he was hungry, he could just tell him to eat cereal or bread and quickly kick him out.
Rudin, who had been sleeping soundly, suddenly opened his eyes at a strange sensation.
An unfamiliar mattress, a ceiling he had never seen before, an unknown blanket, the scent of fabric softener he had never smelled before, and above all, the feeling of his bare skin so vividly…
"Ugh… Haa!"
Rudin abruptly raised his upper body, felt extremely dizzy, and pressed his hands firmly against his head. After a moment, he cautiously raised his head and saw that he was indeed in a place he didn't remember at all.
Rudin, who had just turned back into a human from a Snicat, was naturally naked. Pulling the blanket up to his neck, he trembled with fear and looked around.
His wavering gaze turned to the edge of the bed, where he spotted familiar T-shirts, pants, and a bag. They were all his.
After reconfirming that there was no one around, Rudin wrapped the blanket around himself and slowly crawled to the edge of the bed. How could a bed be this big? It seemed like three or four people could sleep together in it. It was also the first time he had seen a bed with a massage chair.
Rudin picked up the training pants first. Fortunately, his underwear was still inside. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he put on his pants and underwear at once, pulling his tail out through the tail hole. He also put on a white short-sleeved shirt and a light gray sweatshirt in turn. Although he didn't have socks, he felt somewhat calmer after getting dressed.
Regaining some composure, Rudin picked up his bag. Everything inside, including his phone, was still there. It was well past 3 PM, but compared to his previous experiences, he had returned to human form relatively quickly.
As Rudin was about to stand up with his bag in hand, he felt severely dizzy and slumped back down on the bed. What on earth was going on? He pressed his hand to his forehead and tried to recall what had happened earlier.
Rudin had been following Calevik.
He had no intention of explaining what had happened with Leon. He had mentioned before that he was planning to thank Leon, but even if he hadn't, Rudin knew very well that whatever he did with Leon wouldn't be of interest to Calevik.
But somehow, he felt uncomfortable. He couldn't explain why, but he wanted to talk to Calevik, even if only for a moment. He also had a suitable topic to bring up: deciding on a date to buy materials for their team project.
So Rudin followed Calevik. He only intended to exchange a few words, but it felt like Calevik knew he was being followed and was running away. He felt a little dejected, wondering if Calevik hated talking to him that much, but when he came to his senses, Calevik was nowhere to be seen. Rudin had lost track of Calevik.
Rudin turned back, thinking that if he followed any further, he would really be mistaken for a stalker. He decided to go out through the back gate and take the subway, but as he was walking, someone quickly approached from behind and put their arm around his shoulder. Startled, Rudin struggled.
"W-What is this…"
"Wahahaha! No classes in the afternoon, so great, right?"
"Let's go eat, eat!"
It was Mikhail and Cresus. Rudin tried to get away from them, but they held onto Rudin's shoulders tightly from both sides, making it impossible for him to move.
Most of the shops in FDS were concentrated on the front gate side of the school, so the back gate near the gymnasium was sparsely populated. Whenever Rudin saw someone passing by and tried to ask for help, Mikhail and Cresus would loudly pretend to be friendly to stop him.
Feeling uneasy as he was helplessly dragged along, Rudin realized their intention when he saw the guardhouse located in a secluded area.
"Don't do this! Let go of me! I don't want to!"
Rudin resisted with all his might, but eventually collapsed. By coincidence or fate, Calevik's car was parked right in front of him.
Rudin was resisting with the determination to prevent himself from being dragged to that guardhouse, even if it meant lying down in the parking lot, when Mikhail suddenly lifted him up and slung him over his shoulder. Because his head and upper body were facing downwards, Rudin's bag, which he had been carrying on his shoulder, was pulled off and fell to the ground.
"Aaaah! Put me down!"
"Shut up! If you keep making noise, I'll rip off that tail of yours."
Cresus growled lowly, pulling Rudin's tail roughly. They carried Rudin straight to the guardhouse. Rudin tried to resist with the cleaning tools inside the guardhouse, but he couldn't possibly withstand the strength of two superior species alone.
Just as he was despairing that he was going to suffer something terrible, a huge black figure appeared at the entrance of the guardhouse. Rudin saw Calevik, who had approached with icy, clear blue eyes, drive Mikhail and Cresus away in an instant.
The moment a tremendous storm of emotions, a mixture of fear and relief, washed over his body like a wave, everything went black. Rudin lost consciousness and woke up here.
So Calevik had brought him here? Or had Mikhail and Cresus quickly returned with weapons, knocked Calevik down, and kidnapped him? Rudin was very afraid because it wasn't clear which it was.
At that moment, Rudin's cat ears, sensing danger, flattened back. Someone was coming up the stairs.
Startled, Rudin frantically looked around for a place to hide and spotted something. He quickly jumped into it, curled up as small as possible, and buried his head between his knees.
The approaching footsteps stopped right in front of him. A familiar low voice fell over Rudin's trembling back.
"What are you doing?"
Calevik was dumbfounded to see Rudin neatly tucked into an empty cylindrical rattan basket. How on earth had he squeezed his body into such a small and cramped space? Was Snicat like an octopus, a soft-bodied animal? Calevik couldn't understand why he was doing that, leaving the perfectly good, wide bed.
"Ah… Calevik…"
Rudin cautiously raised his head and looked at him, looking considerably relieved. As if his strength had given out, his large eyes were even glistening with tears. The fear on his pale face was so pitiful that goosebumps rose on Calevik's arms.
"You, you saved me, right? Thank you so much. How should I ever repay this…"
How much fear does a person have to experience for their lips to turn blue? Calevik had no memory of experiencing that level of fear in his life. Seeing Rudin trembling visibly, yet looking relieved that the person who had appeared before him was him, made him feel very strange.
In order to quickly calm down the uncomfortable fluttering somewhere in his chest, Calevik spat out curtly.
"If you're awake, go home."
The oven in the kitchen downstairs chimed merrily, signaling that the steak was done. Rudin, still sitting in the rattan basket, looked up at Calevik with clear amber eyes and fidgeted with his hands.
"I'm sorry. I know it's really rude and shameless, but… I'm too dizzy and hungry to move… If you could just give me some time to recover…"
A sound like air escaping leaked from Calevik's mouth. If he hadn't read the "Knowledge Cat" Q&A earlier, he would have thought Rudin was a truly brazen person.
"There's food downstairs."
Rudin blinked his large eyes at Calevik's blunt voice. Did that mean he could eat something if he went downstairs? Was it permission to eat the food downstairs? Since he was someone who didn't even have basic conversational etiquette, let alone speak kindly and considerately, it was always up to the listener to interpret Calevik's words.
"Is it okay for me to eat? I'll only eat a little. I can even pay for the food if you want…"
Before Rudin could finish speaking, Calevik turned around and walked towards the stairs. But he hadn't even taken five steps when he had to turn back at a loud crashing sound. Rudin was sprawled on the floor, having apparently fallen while trying to get out of the rattan basket.
"My family is Snicat, and if they're forced to become cats, you have to feed them a lot as soon as they wake up. They get really dizzy and have no strength in their body, as if they haven't eaten for a week, not just three days. They can't even walk on their own."
The reply from "Knowledge Cat" flashed through Calevik's mind. If what the person who said their family was Snicat was true, then Rudin must have fallen because he was dizzy and had no strength.
Why was he so much trouble? Calevik sighed and approached Rudin. He put his hands under Rudin's armpits and lifted him up, and his light body followed easily. Calevik sat the surprised Rudin on the reclining bed, turned his back to him, and bent down.
"Um… excuse me…"
"Zip it."
Rudin felt a bit awkward seeing the tips of the man's ears, with his broad shoulders and back like a regular person, turn red. It was clear that this wasn't the sweet, fresh excitement of a budding romance, but simply embarrassment at an unfamiliar situation.
Rudin was glad he was a mature Pussycat enough to distinguish between the two. He was also three years older, so he had to act more composed as the older one.
"Thank you so much. I'll only accept your help this once."
Rudin obediently climbed onto Calevik's back. His back was full of muscles and all hard, yet strangely comfortable. Maybe it was because he trusted him as the person who had saved him from a scary situation.
Rudin knew very well that if the person being carried straightened up and leaned back, the center of gravity would shift backward, making it very difficult for the person carrying them. Garnet, who often carried the weak Rudin, had taught him that. So, Rudin relaxed and clung to Calevik's back, resting his cheek on his shoulder.
As he descended the stairs on Calevik's back, the interior of the house came into Rudin's view. Rudin never imagined he could use the adjective 'vast' to describe a house instead of a playground or field.
The living room had a floor-to-ceiling glass window that extended to the second floor. He could see the Cairn city center, the Tenus River, the largest river in Feladia, and the Camile Tower, a symbol of Cairn, so the house must be located on a very high floor. The night view would be absolutely fantastic.
The interior of the living room was decorated in a modern and clean style based on black and white. There were no flashy colors or patterns like the clothes Calevik usually wore. Everything visible was luxurious, making it clear at a glance that it was the home of a chaebol.
Could this be Calevik's main family home? With this size, it would be enough for about ten people to live together. Since no other family members were visible, they must have all gone to work.
Calevik went to the kitchen, pulled out a chair, and placed Rudin on it. Sitting down, Rudin's eyes widened again as he looked at the table.
A Burrata cheese salad with fresh vegetables, tomatoes, olives, and figs, Vongole pasta with lots of expensive-looking seafood, steaming hot crab soup, truffle cream gnocchi with a savory aroma, seafood tomato risotto with a delicious color, and Rudin's favorite Chilean sea bass steak—which looked like the most expensive part of the body—filled the table. Thin warming plates were placed under each dish to keep the food warm until the end of the meal.
With the same expressionless face, Calevik placed a personal plate and cutlery in front of Rudin with a thud. He even gave him individually wrapped wet wipes, as if to tell him to wipe his hands. The packaging was so pretty that it felt too precious to use.

Rudin stammered, looking at Calevik's broad back as he took something out of the oven with thick gloves on.
"This, um, well, is this a meal that your family is going to eat together?"
Calevik stopped cutting the steak for a moment, then resumed, placing the sliced steak on a large plate and adding roasted potatoes and asparagus.
"What are you talking about?"
"There's so much food… I thought you were going to eat with your family…"
For Rudin, it was a huge shock that Calevik himself was doing the kitchen work, not an employee. Calevik placed the steak plate and a glass of water in front of Rudin, then sat across from him with his own steak.
"I live alone."
"Huh…?"
He was going to eat all this food by himself? Calevik must have a huge appetite because of his large size. He said bluntly to Rudin, who tilted his head.
"Eat and go home."
Calevik started eating as if Rudin wasn't even there. Rudin was so hungry that he couldn't possibly be reserved, so he quickly wiped his hands and grabbed a spoon.
The moment he scooped up the crab soup in front of him and put it in his mouth, Rudin's cat ears perked up.
"Wow…"
Calevik glanced at Rudin, who was eating ravenously. He was eating so frantically, like a cat that had been dozing off and suddenly smelled Churu, that Calevik was more worried than pleased as the one who had made the food.
"Hey. Breathe."
What if he ate so quickly and got indigestion, then didn't go home and just lay down? Then he would really pick up that cat and put him outside the front door.
Rudin quickly finished the crab soup and was already scooping up other dishes. When he met Calevik's eyes, he wiggled his cat ears excitedly.

"Ier ean anhin oeisus (I've never eaten anything so delicious)."
"Swallow and talk."
"Uh ches he besn eorld (Your chef is the best in the world)."
When Calevik was young, he was severely scolded and humiliated by his adoptive mother for speaking with even a little food left in his mouth, being told that he was 'raised by a cheap mother and was utterly vulgar.' Having grown up like that, he couldn't understand why Rudin was trying so hard to speak in that state.
But he didn't feel bad. Come to think of it, it was the first time he had ever fed someone food he had made himself, and the first time he had ever sat down to eat with someone in this house.
"Actually, I was a little puzzled when you said before that you 'don't eat food made by others.'"
Rudin, who had finally swallowed everything in his mouth, said in a clear voice as he took some pasta onto his plate.
"But now I understand a little. If the food you eat at home is so delicious, I wouldn't want to eat anywhere else either."

That wasn't the reason, but Calevik didn't dislike the compliment that it was delicious, so he didn't say anything. Watching Rudin eat made him feel strangely full already, so Calevik put down his fork. Rudin, who was eating the Chilean sea bass with a happy smile, tilted his head at him.
"Are you done eating?"
"Yeah."
"Is it because of me? Is it because I'm eating too much, so you have less?"
Calevik looked at Rudin with a sulky face. Rudin, realizing that Calevik would never be so considerate, babbled awkwardly.
"I guess not, right? I was just asking because I was worried. I don't usually eat this much, but I'm so hungry right now that I feel like I'm going to die…"
"That's how Snicats are, right?"
"Yeah, that's right! That's how Snicats are originally. After being shocked and turning into a cat, then turning back into a human, they eat enough for three days at once…"
Rudin, who was talking enthusiastically, suddenly covered his mouth with his hand. Calevik was nonchalantly drinking rooibos tea with ice, his expression unchanged.

Oh my god. Now that he thought about it, Calevik, who had taken him in and brought him here after he had turned into a cat, couldn't possibly not know that he was a Snicat. Rudin's ears lost their strength and drooped down.
"That's right. I'm… a Snicat."
"..."
"I told the school everything when I transferred and submitted the documents! So, it's not like I'm illegally enrolled or anything. There was no condition that transfer was restricted for Snicats either…"
Calevik looked as if he didn't care, as if no one had said anything. So, Rudin was actually a little relieved. He wouldn't be surprised even if Rudin was actually a Reptilia beastmen from Reptilia. Not because he was generous, but because he was so uninterested in others.
"Um… are you going to tell the people in the department…?"
Still, he had to ask this question. It would be very burdensome and frightening for all his classmates to know that he was a Snicat. Rudin was the only Pussycat among the FDS students, so the rumor that he was a Snicat would definitely spread like wildfire throughout the school.
"Why would I?"
At his dry answer, Rudin recalled Calevik's rare appearances at school.
He was ten to one late, entering long after the class had started. Even if classmates crowded around him during breaks, asking questions or talking, he rarely responded. He never went to the library, participated in club activities, or hung out with friends, so he would go straight home after class.

'Hey guys, I found out something really interesting. You all know the Pussycat who transferred in, right? Rudin Greenwood or Yellowwood or whatever his name is. Turns out he's not just a Pussycat, but a Snicat!'
Imagining Calevik spreading rumors like this to his classmates seemed extremely awkward. He wouldn't believe it even if twins who looked exactly like him but had completely opposite personalities did that. Well, it was really an unnecessary worry.
"It's getting cold. Just eat."
Calevik frowned when he saw Rudin's hands and mouth stop abruptly. Rudin hesitated for a moment, then laid his cat ears back and asked worriedly.
"Is it okay if I eat everything here?"
"I'll just throw it away if there's any left."
At the word 'throw away,' Rudin perked up his ears and pounced on the food again. As he was eating diligently, he suddenly raised his head and his eyes sparkled.
"You know, the chef who made this. I think they must be a really warm-hearted and kind person."

Calevik, who was wondering whether to have chocolate pudding or gelato with fresh mango for dessert, narrowed his eyes. What was this out-of-the-blue nonsense again?
"It's so amazing that they can make so much delicious food. I can feel their warm heart in the food. Could it be an elderly mother who has raised many children?"
Calevik barely managed to swallow the rooibos tea that he almost choked on and barely replied.
"…It's a man."
"Really? Then I feel like he'd be a big, hearty guy with a loud laugh. Someone who laughs well at anything you say, like, 'Hahaha! Is that so!'"
Rudin put his hands on his stomach and made a face, pretending to laugh loudly. Calevik, who couldn't even remember the last time he had laughed, let out a snort.
"You're very prejudiced."
"Am I? You know who the chef is, right?"
"…Yeah."
"If I ever get to meet them, I'd really, totally, amazingly tell them that it was so delicious that I was really touched. Ah, you might not want anyone to know that someone came to your house and ate your food. Sorry. Just forget it."
Rudin shook his head so hard that his perked-up ears fluttered, and then he concentrated on eating again. Of course, he had no idea that the 'chef' was hearing his compliments directly in front of him.

Whether Calevik listened or not, Rudin rattled off a few stories. He said that he was so bad at cooking that he often ate cup ramen or convenience store lunch boxes when his brother wasn't around, that sea bass was actually his favorite dish, and other TMI that Calevik hadn't asked about.
"Don't force yourself to eat."
Calevik said a word to Rudin, who was breathing heavily as if he was struggling with the amount of food, but still stubbornly eating until the bottom of the plate was visible. Rudin shook his head with his mouth full of food.
"I'm eating because I want to."
"Your breathing is making me uncomfortable."
"Snicats originally have small stomachs, so it's like this. Even if I'm a little breathless, I have to eat as much as possible now to get energy."
If that's what he said, what could he do? Calevik let out a light sigh and got up from his seat.
Calevik approached the refrigerator and took out a few dessert ingredients. He didn't usually enjoy sweets, but after Charlotte had visited, he often looked for them because of stress, so Bernard had prepared a few.

Calevik placed chocolate pudding on a plate and decorated it with raw chocolate and large cherries. He scooped vanilla gelato into a crystal ice cream bowl and garnished it with fresh mango and blueberries.
Two kinds of desserts were suddenly placed in front of Rudin, who had almost finished his meal. Rudin's cat ears soared high towards the ceiling and his tail wagged.
"Wow… pretty."
He had just put things together, so he didn't know what was pretty, so Calevik pretended not to hear and looked away. Rudin blinked his big eyes at him.
"What about you?"
"I'm fine. I'm full."
"Can I eat both?"
"I'll throw it away if there's any left."
It was the same blunt tone as always, but somehow it sounded like he could eat comfortably. Rudin thought that Calevik must be so rich that he could eat this every day, so he wasn't very attached to it.
"Hyaa…"
Calevik didn't want to watch Rudin eat, but he had no choice but to look when he let out a strange exclamation.
Rudin's eyes, with their amber irises, sparkled as if sprinkled with stardust. When the spoon full of ice cream went into his mouth, his narrowly closed eyes drew a curve, his eyes turned downward, and the corners of his lips turned upward. The face of the lovely cat that Calevik had held earlier overlapped with that image.

It was the cat that was lovely, the cat, not Rudin.
"It's really delicious! Everything I've ever eaten before seems like a imitation of this."
"..."
"Did the chef make this mango too?"
"How can you make fruit? He must have bought it."
"I guess so."
Rudin grinned as he put a large piece of mango in his mouth. Calevik glanced at him as he chewed on what was in his mouth with a happy face.
The tongue that was visible in his mouth seemed even redder in contrast to the bright yellow mango. Come to think of it, his blue lips had already returned to their original cherry-like color.
The thought that it was a relief gave him goosebumps.
What did it matter to him whether Rudin's lips were blue or black? He had not only rescued someone from danger and brought them home, but he was also feeding them food he had made himself and even dessert, doing things that he would never normally do, so he felt like his head was going crazy.
"Um, actually, I was following you from the gym earlier."
Rudin, who had already eaten the pudding and had chocolate on his mouth, said carefully. Looking at his small, youthful face with large cat ears that were pink on the inside, Calevik wondered how old Rudin really was.
Was he really twenty-six years old? Could he actually be sixteen years old?
"Why?"
Calevik, who was actually the one who knew Rudin was following him and had run away after circling around the school, retorted sullenly. He belatedly thought that if he hadn't run away for no reason and had listened to Rudin, he might not have suffered such a thing from trash like Mikhail and Cresus.
But it was just a tragedy caused by a series of coincidences, and it wasn't Calevik's fault.
"I just wanted to talk for a bit."
"You said you wouldn't act friendly."
"I was just going to talk about the team project."
Rudin, who put the last chocolate pudding in his mouth and swallowed it with a regretful expression, continued.
"Are you worried that if people see me talking to you, they'll think you and I are close?"
That wasn't exactly the case. If Calevik cared about people's reputations, he wouldn't wear such shitty clothes. It was actually more comfortable for anyone to think of him as an incorrigible delinquent. Calevik himself couldn't give a clear reason why he had run away from Rudin earlier.
