"Welcome to war boys!" A comedy masked Nox said as she teleported her two disciples right into the middle of a warzone.
All around them, there were soldiers fighting to the death while stray explosions were raining down around them due to the cultivators in the sky fighting for aerial supremacy.
"Okay, so I'm a go now! Have fun!" Nox said as she walked through a spatial distortion.
"HOLD IT!" Alex shouted as he shoved his hand through the distorted space and pulled his master out by the collar.
"Hey, stop being so clingy! I still have a ton of stuff to do! Let go!" Nox complained.
"YOU CAN'T JUST DROP US INTO THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLEFIELD, YOU LUNATIC! OH CRAP!" Alex shouted, quickly using his master as a human shield to block the incoming fireball heading his way.
*Boom**Moob*
However, just as the explosion made contact with Nox's body, the explosion stopped halfway through, and as if time was being rewound, it reverted back into a ball of fire, hovering completely still in the air.
"What's the big deal! It's not like I haven't done it before! Just do what you did in the battle of Oreberg and you'll be fine! Oh, and try not to let your slow-bro over there kick it, m'kay!" Nox said while directing the floating ball of fire towards the soldier emerging from Shinji's shadow with a spear in hand.
*Boom*
"AH, WHAT THE HELL DID I DO!" Shinji shouted, unaware he was merely moments away from being impaled through the back.
"THAT IS ANOTHER THING! SHINJI IS STILL TOO GREEN FOR THIS LEVEL OF CHAOS! AT LEAST TAKE US TO A CHECKPOINT SO HE CAN GET HIS BEARINGS FIRST!" Alex shouted at her.
"What? No, he's totally ready for this! Ain't that right Slowpoke?" Nox asked Shinji who was getting to his feet after that explosion.
"WHAT?!" Shinji shouted as his ears were still ringing after that explosion that went off at his feet.
"See! He agrees with me!"
"NO, HE ISN'T!!!"Alex shouted as the three of them got swept up in a tornado.
"HELP!!! SENIOR!!! HELP!!! HEY!!! OH SHIT, BOSS!!!" Shinji shouted as he was about to slam into a giant bolder covered in spikes.
"You're overreacting!" Nox said as she grabbed an enchanted lance out of a passing soldier's hand and threw it into the spikey rock.
The spear's wind and fire enchantments rocketed the boulder out of the tornado and into the trio of cultivators who created this tornado in the first place, resulting in the violent wind currents dispersing, dropping the three magicians from 200 meters.
"I mean, you were no less green when you experienced your first war!"
"DON'T COMPARE A WAR FOUGHT BETWEEN MORTAL ARMIES TO THIS! EVERYONE HERE IS AT LEAST A NASCENT SOUL OR A 4TH TIER MAGICIAN! THE SCALE IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!!" Alex shouted, shaking his master by the collar while casting a 2nd tier wind spell under his feet to slow his descent.
"Yeah, and that's why I went through the trouble of evolving Slowpoke's buddies!"
*Bang**Bang**Bang*
"AAAAAAAAAAaaaahhh-! *Cough**Cough* Ugh! Too much smoke!"
As Shinji came plummeting to the ground, the fire element energy began clustering beneath him, creating controlled explosions directly below him to slow his descent at the cost of his throat becoming sore from all the smoke he inhaled on his way down.
"You alright Shin?" The greater spriggan, Little thunder, asked as she emerged from Shinji's body.
"I'm *Cough**Cough* Fine! Just *Cough* breathed too much smoke!" Shinji responded.
"A GREATER SPIRIT CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH! YOU STILL HAVEN'T TOLD US WHERE WE ARE, AND I DIDN'T SEE ANY LANDMARKS WHILE IN THE AIR! WHICH WAY ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HEAD IN!" Alex shouted at Nox.
"*Sigh* You haven't even tried asking for directions yet? Seriously, it's not that hard! Look! HEY, YOU! HEY! DEMON WEARING THE SKIN OF A MAN! YES, YOU! COME OVER HERE!" Nox said, shouting at a soldier wearing the black armor of the dark empire who was hiding in a trench and chewing on somebody's intestines.
"Hm? *Gulp* Oh, it's you!" The man muttered as he stuck his head out of the trench.
Walking over from the trench, an enemy soldier came charging at him with a spear in hand and the wind at his back, only to be grabbed by the throat with one elongated arm. Soon after, the man's body began to enlarge, his skin tearing apart as his true form, hidden beneath the surface was revealed. A large bullheaded demon with leathery wings stood before them, as he took a bite out of the soldier's skull like it was an apple.
"What do you want now?" Hexel grumbled out while munching on the poor soldier's gray matter.
"An Haagenti? Wait, is this the babysitter you were talking about?" Alex muttered as he gave his master a look.
"Sorry to be a bother, but my idiot son forgot to bring a brain when he forgot the map! Could you point us in the direction of the nearest basecamp?" Nox asked as she spontaneously swapped outfits to look like a tourist.
As a blue glint shone in the demon's eye, he lifted a finger to point in towards a wall of lightning and fire.
"Great, thanks! Mind guiding my boys there while I go look at the sights? Great, thanks, bye!" Nox said before popping through another spatial distortion.
