Chapter 321 - Reaching LV.7 - Salvation at the Edge of Exhaustion

"Aah!"

Screams echoed across the battlefield as Shirou Emiya continued to charge forward.

Dual swords in hand, his body stretched and twisted between attacks coming from every direction. He slipped through gaps, forced openings, and tore paths through the crowd with relentless momentum.

Once his speed fully unfolded, the density of the battlefield no longer mattered.

If there was no space-

He created it.

The twin blades were sheathed.

A spear was summoned in their place.

Only then did Shirou Emiya truly begin to fight freely.

The reason for the sudden shift in style was simple.

His Durability had finally reached its limit.

All he needed now was a little more Agility.

And Dexterity.

That was enough.

So within the sea of enemies, Shirou Emiya stopped anchoring himself in one spot. He began to move. Constantly. Roaming through the battlefield.

At this moment, Reinforcement Magecraft was active across his entire body. His limbs were reinforced to their limits.

He had been fighting here for five days.

Five days and five nights.

Continuous combat.

Even though he managed to eat and drink during brief lulls, it barely helped. By the end of the first day, his body had already entered a state of deep exhaustion.

To force out more potential, Shirou Emiya had pushed himself mercilessly.

By the third day, he had nearly collapsed.

Yet relying on steel-like muscles and stubborn willpower, he endured.

Until now.

His condition was beyond poor.

Without Reinforcement Magecraft, he wouldn't even be able to charge forward anymore.

And it wasn't just stamina.

His magic power was nearly gone as well.

He hadn't cast many flashy spells, but maintaining his physical condition required constant healing magecraft. Over and over again.

Iron weapons striking iron flesh still caused damage.

Dents accumulated.

Micro-fractures formed.

And Shirou Emiya endured all of it.

Normally, his magic recovery rate would make this kind of expenditure irrelevant. But now-

There was nothing left to convert.

Energy didn't appear from nothing.

Physical energy.

Spiritual energy.

Both were drawn from the body.

And his body had reached empty.

As a result, his magic recovery rate dropped to its lowest point.

This was the end of the line.

With his spear in hand, Shirou Emiya blasted through the enemies blocking his path.

He no longer conserved magic.

There was no reason to.

His goal was right in front of him.

Before reaching it, he wanted to experience this battle one last time.

Who knew when he would ever get another chance like this?

"Watch me," Shirou Emiya shouted, voice carrying through the chaos.

"A single rider against a thousand!"

The spear swept and pierced relentlessly.

Orc soldiers fell in droves.

Strikes flowed seamlessly into punches, then into kicks. The methods he had learned in Orario for dealing with overwhelming numbers were executed flawlessly.

Human wave tactics meant nothing.

Finally-

At the very center of the battlefield-

A crescent moon sweep tore through the area.

Within a five-meter radius, no life remained.

"It's finally over."

Shirou Emiya glanced at his Divine Blessing panel.

His lips curved upward slightly.

"It's been a long time since I felt this good."

"This really is exhilarating."

With that, he collapsed backward onto the ground.

He couldn't stand anymore.

His stamina was gone.

His magic power was gone.

Everything had been burned away.

The battle that lasted five days and five nights-

Ended here.

The remaining Orc soldiers slowly surrounded him.

His weapons slipped from his hands and faded away.

Looking up at them, Shirou Emiya smiled faintly.

"Going to finish me off?"

"And then eat me?"

He paused.

"Only those prepared to be killed are qualified to kill."

"But even so-"

"You still can't kill me."

The surrounding Orc soldiers looked confused.

They didn't understand.

Shirou Emiya smiled wider.

Then shouted.

"Little Rimuru!"

"I have received your message, Father!"

A clear voice answered.

In the next instant, a crimson arrow blazing with fire pierced through the void and landed directly on Shirou Emiya's face.

Then-

A deafening roar.

Raging flames erupted outward, engulfing everything around him.

That arrow-

Was fired by Little Rimuru.

"Even if I have fire immunity," Shirou Emiya said calmly while chewing his food, "can you not aim for my face next time, Little Rimuru?"

He continued eating and drinking, steadily restoring himself.

"Yes, Father. I understand."

Little Rimuru sat beside him, smiling quietly as she watched him.

"...You don't look remorseful at all."

Shirou Emiya sighed inwardly as he glanced at her expression.

Had she inherited my bad habits?

Is she becoming a troublemaker already?

I really need to educate her properly.

The thought passed quickly.

There were more important things to deal with.

Leveling up.

Shifting his focus, Shirou Emiya opened his Divine Blessing panel.

The numbers began to change.

His attention sharpened.

"What traits this time?"

"...Luck?"

"Then there's nothing to think about."

"Luck it is."

After confirming his choice, a brand-new status panel appeared.

Staring at the panel, countless thoughts surged through Shirou Emiya's mind.

The changes were enormous.

His level increase and basic attributes were expected.

Among his development abilities, only Forging and Mystery had increased, along with the newly added Luck.

A pity.

If he had forged Little Emiya and Little Rimuru completely on his own, his Forging skill might have jumped straight to S.

Forging sentient weapons was no small feat.

His magic remained unchanged.

But his skills-

Those were completely different.

Shirou Emiya had anticipated major changes after obtaining the Hero's Egg skill.

Even so, this exceeded his expectations.

On his first level-up after becoming a Hero-

His skill set had been thoroughly rewritten.

And Shirou Emiya understood.

This was only the beginning.
