Chapter 365 - The Moment the Masks Fell

The carriage rolled to a halt after traveling a long distance.

It stopped directly in front of Shirou Emiya and the others.

From the lead carriage, two figures stepped down in quick succession.

The first woman had straight, glossy white hair and long, slender limbs. Her eyes were sharp, like a cat's, and her appearance was undeniably beautiful. At a glance, it was obvious she was female. Yet the demonic aura radiating from her was fierce, heavy, carrying the pressure of a seasoned warrior.

The second woman followed closely behind.

Her hair was a striking mix of gold and black, flowing down in two distinct tones. She possessed a voluptuous figure, and her snake-like eyes shimmered like polished gemstones. On the surface, she appeared elegant and composed, almost gentle. But the cold aura surrounding her made her feel distant, unapproachable.

Rimuru, currently in his Slime form and being held in Shion's arms, quietly observed the two demons.

"These two are no ordinary figures."

"Just from their magicule levels, they're on par with Phobio."

"Just as Shirou and I predicted," Rimuru concluded internally. "They're heavyweights. Most likely core executives from the other side."

As Rimuru continued assessing them, the snake-eyed woman stepped forward first.

"First meeting," she said calmly. "Lord and Vice-Lord of the Great Jura Forest."

"I am Albis."

"'Yellow Serpent Horn' Albis. One of Demon Lord Carrion's Three Beastketeers."

Before departing, Carrion had personally instructed her to treat the Lord and Vice-Lord as equals. According to him, the strength of the opposing side might even surpass his own.

However, before Rimuru could respond, the woman beside Albis suddenly scoffed.

"Hmph! There's no need to greet these small fries, Albis."

She folded her arms, eyes filled with disdain.

"I was wondering what kind of monster ruled the Great Jura Forest. And what do I see?"

"A weak Slime?"

"There's a limit to how much you can insult people!"

"Suphia," Albis said sharply, "don't behave like that. You'll bring shame upon Lord Carrion."

"Shut it, Albis!" Suphia snapped back without hesitation. "Don't order me around!"

"Dwarves are one thing. But dealing with tiny, cunning, despicable humans?"

"That's beneath the dignity of monsters!"

Watching the two demons argue openly in front of them, Shirou Emiya and Rimuru felt no anger at all.

If anything-

They wanted to laugh.

Here it comes.

The probing.

"So they're looking down on you, weak Slime," Shirou Emiya remarked through thought communication.

"And they're looking down on you too," Rimuru replied calmly. "Tiny, cunning, despicable human."

The two exchanged silent jabs.

Then, almost simultaneously-

They laughed.

"So?" Rimuru asked. "How should we teach them a lesson?"

"Huh?" Shirou Emiya replied. "Is that even a question?"

The two of them remained outwardly calm.

But the orders had already been given.

"Shion," Rimuru said aloud, his tone steady. "Have a spar with this envoy."

"Let her understand our strength."

"Yes, Lord Rimuru!"

Shion had been holding herself back ever since Suphia started belittling them. The moment she received Rimuru's command, she burst forward without hesitation.

"Interesting!" Suphia roared, her fangs flashing. "Then I, 'White Tiger Claw' Suphia, will personally see how much a Slime's subordinate is worth!"

The ferocity of the tiger tribe erupted from her body.

The two collided head-on.

In an instant, Shion and Suphia vanished into the jungle, their clash tearing through trees and flattening wide swathes of forest.

At the same time, another figure stepped forward.

Souei emerged silently from the crowd, his gaze fixed on Albis.

"Although I'm merely Lord Emiya's weakest subordinate," he said calmly, "I still hope to exchange blows with a warrior of the Beast Kingdom."

"And let you see the strength of humans."

"Is that so?" Albis glanced at him briefly, then turned her head. "Cruxis."

"Deal with that human."

From the rear, a lean young man stepped forward with an annoyed expression.

Gray hair.

Gray eyes.

Brown skin.

He casually juggled several large knives in his hands.

"Even if I'm at the bottom of the Beast King's Warrior Division," Cruxis muttered, "this is still a bit much..."

"...But fine."

"I'll play with you, human."

Though his words were dismissive, his gaze told a different story.

Sharp.

Focused.

Like a hunter locking onto prey.

There wasn't the slightest hint of carelessness in him.

"As expected of Carrion's subordinates," Shirou Emiya thought quietly, watching the exchange.

Their warriors were sincere.

Truly sincere.

"Indeed," Rimuru agreed.

Just like that, two battles unfolded at once.

At first, both clashes seemed evenly matched.

Shion and Suphia tore through the forest in a brutal exchange of power.

Souei and Cruxis traded swift, precise blows.

But as time passed, the balance began to shift.

Souei gradually gained the upper hand.

His movements became sharper.

Cleaner.

More decisive.

Though he had only trained under Shirou Emiya for a few days, those days had fundamentally changed him.

Shirou Emiya had guided his swordsmanship, correcting the discordant elements in his style.

After all, every sword style is best suited to its creator.

When others adopt it, there will always be mismatches.

But once a swordsman reaches a certain level, they can identify what doesn't belong to them. They strip those parts away, refining the style until it becomes their own.

Hakurou was the perfect example of this.

If Souei had trained alone, it would have taken him at least ten years to reach this point. Ten years to fully reshape his swordsmanship.

Under Shirou Emiya's guidance, he crossed nearly a decade of progress in mere days.

While his current strength hadn't skyrocketed, his foundation had been completely rebuilt.

His future ceiling was far higher.

His growth would be steadier.

And now-

That slight technical edge was enough.

Cruxis began to falter.

However, no one was watching them anymore.

All eyes had shifted.

On the other side of the battlefield, the decisive moment between Shion and Suphia had arrived.

A vast amount of magicules gathered in Shion's hand, compressing into a violent, unstable mass.

Suphia noticed instantly.

The two women locked eyes.

Both of them smiled.

"So you're finally ready to use your trump card?" Suphia laughed. "I've been waiting."

"Then let's try it," Shion replied.

They charged at each other.

But before they could collide-

A figure appeared between them.

"The match ends here."

A weapon blocked their path, forcibly separating the two.

Albis stood between them.

Her form had changed.

No longer purely humanoid.

She had transformed into a half-beast, half-snake hybrid, her body radiating overwhelming pressure.

"Whoa," Rimuru muttered internally. "So this is Beastification."

"What a sight."

Shirou Emiya chuckled as well.

An eye-opener indeed.
