Lukas jumped and took it on his chest. Behind him, McTominay had clattered Bernardo and left him on the floor, but the referee waved play on because City had the advantage.
Lukas turned to face Spinazzola. The Italian sank low, wary of the pace and the feet. Lukas shifted his weight as if he was going to knock it down the line, and Spinazzola stepped up to close the space. At the last moment Lukas opened his body and slid it through his legs with the outside of his boot, into Cherki on the other side.
"Lovely from Brandt! Through the legs!"
Lukas was already gone down the flank, past Spinazzola before the Italian could turn round. Spinazzola spun and grabbed at his arm, right in front of the linesman. Lukas knocked the hand away and kept running, and Cherki, without an extra touch, rolled the ball into the space in front of him.
Napoli's left side had simply vanished. One pass had taken the defenders out of it, and Lukas was through with the goal in front of him.
