Lukas laughed quietly.
"So basically you have no idea what will happen."
"Exactly. Generally, people are cool. But today? I won't lie, bro, it's going to be different. Everyone watched the game. Everyone saw the goals. Even the United fans are going to look at you like you personally ruined their family."
Lukas looked back out the window as the car turned onto a quieter road.
"I can't wait."
Ryan stared at him for a second, then grinned.
"You're actually crazy."
Lukas smiled but said nothing.
The Mercedes continued forward, carrying him away from derby night and toward something somehow a bit more intimidating — school.

About fifteen minutes later, the black Mercedes-Maybach rolled through the entrance of St Bede's College and eased into the driveway.
Ryan McAidoo glanced out of the window first, then looked back at Lukas with a grin.
"You ready?"
Lukas adjusted the strap of his backpack and smiled faintly.
"How hard can it be? It's just school."
