Perris and the emperor emerged from the temple together. Following them were a high priest bearing a splendid velvet cushion and several other priests.
They looked truly majestic, casting their gaze down upon the distinguished guests from across the continent who occupied the highest seats in the temple.
The emperor, draped in a heavy, luxurious purple cloak, seated himself on the throne positioned to the right of the altar.
It was the second-highest position within the temple, strategically placed to allow the attendees to gaze upward at the sacred flame and the emperor beyond it.
“It is time,” declared the high priest standing by the emperor, his voice resonating throughout the grand hall. He took a slow step towards the altar. “All have assembled to bear witness.”
His words, echoing against the towering temple walls, carried even greater weight.
