Emily stood there, the shock of what she had just seen sinking into her bones. "How the hell did she just do that?" Humans did not just ward off missiles as if they were slapping away flies.
"It has got to be the suits they are wearing." Dr. Ramesh said in a small squeaky voice. "We should give up and leave right now, it is not too late. Look at our numbers and look at theirs." He struggled to release himself from the hold of the two Emily loyalists that were keeping him firmly in place.
Both were men with that ability to turn their skin into metal. Emily had asked them to protect the doctor because he was their emergency blood bank. Ideally, he should not have been on the battlefield but she needed him to be somewhere within her reach.
