Chapter 219 - Chapter 219: Pewter City Gym Challenge

The battle between Graveler and Rhydon raged, their auras forming a stark contrast.

Although Graveler also displayed the strength of a Senior Level Pokémon, it seemed somewhat intimidated by Rhydon's mountain-like aura.

Takeo, as the referee, kept a close eye on the movements on the field, occasionally explaining the moves and tactics of both sides.

As the sound of the ground shaking echoed.

"Graveler launched Tackle first!" Takeo shouted.

Under Flint's command, Graveler charged fiercely towards Rhydon, but Rhydon merely sidestepped, easily dodging the attack.

This alone fully illustrated the disparity in strength between the two sides in this battle.

"Rhydon, unwilling to be outdone, retaliated with its Stomp!" As Takeo's words fell.

Under Giovanni's command, Rhydon's massive foot stomped heavily on the ground, creating a powerful tremor that caused Graveler to lose its balance.

And Rhydon was already eager to fight.

"Graveler, Harden!" Flint, seeing this, quickly ordered Graveler to use Harden, attempting to boost Graveler's defense.

However, Giovanni and Rhydon did not give it that chance.

Giovanni waved his hand, "Rhydon, Horn Attack!"

Rhydon used Horn Attack without hesitation, its constantly rotating horn fiercely striking Graveler's body.

With a loud bang, it sent Graveler flying backward.

Giovanni seized the opportunity and had no intention of letting go, "Continue, Arm Thrust!"

To be fair, Graveler was quite resilient, taking a Horn Attack from Rhydon only resulted in some loose pebbles falling off.

It quickly recovered and, by rotating, dodged Rhydon's Arm Thrust.

"Graveler, don't lose heart, use Rollout!" Flint encouraged his Pokémon.

He tried to use Rollout to avoid Rhydon's frontal attacks and look for opportunities to counter.

Although Rhydon was not as agile and flexible as a rolling Graveler, its ability to remain as still as a mountain and move like thunder could aptly describe it.

Giovanni sneered coldly, "Hmph, focus, Drill Run!"

Rhydon quickly adjusted its posture, swiftly turned its body, and in an instant used Drill Run, which directly sent the rolling Graveler flying.

Graveler fell heavily to the ground, temporarily losing its balance.

Giovanni wouldn't give up this good opportunity, "Go, use Tackle."

Rhydon paused only briefly before charging out again.

"Graveler, use Rock Throw!" Flint shouted loudly upon seeing this.

Graveler, unable to steady itself, hastily used Rock Throw.

Giant rocks appeared in mid-air, then fell with immense power, heading towards Rhydon.

However, due to its unstable body, this move was destined not to be very accurate.

This allowed Rhydon to nimbly dodge the falling rocks, and it even provocatively smashed a nearby boulder.

Giovanni glanced at the arrogant Rhydon, clearly not pleased, "Don't be too arrogant, use Rock Blast!"

Rhydon, reprimanded by Giovanni, immediately wilted. It put away its arrogant expression and instantly used Rock Blast.

Rocks imbued with powerful energy appeared around it, and as Rhydon channeled its energy, the rocks shot out one by one.

At this moment, Graveler had only just managed to steady itself; there was no chance for it to dodge this move.

A series of explosions constantly rang out.

Until the scarred Graveler still stubbornly held on, refusing to fall.

"Graveler, use Self-Destruct to take Rhydon down with you!" Flint, seeing this, could only resort to the worst option, he shouted loudly.

Upon hearing this, Graveler immediately began to gather energy, its body gradually emitting a dazzling light, and scorching heat brewed within its body, about to unleash a terrifying explosion.

"Sandstorm!" But just then, Giovanni suddenly shouted.

When Rhydon suddenly used Sandstorm, the battlefield was instantly engulfed in swirling sand, and the dense grit obscured Graveler's vision.

Making it unable to accurately locate Rhydon.

Once Self-Destruct is used, it cannot be stopped.

Boom!!!

A deafening roar echoed through the battlefield; the explosion caused the battlefield to shake violently.

The swirling sand was evaporated by the explosion.

A large amount of smoke and dust filled the battlefield, and when the dust on the battlefield dispersed, the incapacitated Graveler fell to the ground with a thud.

Whoosh!

As if a strong gust of wind had been forcefully blown, a large amount of dust instantly dispersed.

Rhydon, with only a layer of dust on its body, appeared perfectly fine in its original spot.

Flint's eyes held disbelief, and his face showed dejection, but he had no way to counter this. He simply raised his hand and recalled Graveler.

Takeo, as Flint's father-in-law, did not indulge him at all and immediately announced:

"Graveler is unable to battle, Rhydon wins."

Then he urged Flint, "Continue."

"I really can't." Flint was somewhat conflicted.

Takeo, exasperated, scolded Flint:

"How did Lola go blind and fall for a blockhead like you! If you can't do it, then get out of here quickly, don't make a fool of yourself."

Hearing that Takeo had resorted to personal attacks and even dragged his wife into it.

Flint gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, then released a Senior Level Sandslash.

Giovanni's gaze swept over Sandslash; there was still some surprise in his eyes. Although Flint kept saying he couldn't do it.

In fact, his Pokémon were all well-trained; he just lacked practical battle experience and was a bit nervous.

If Flint took his role as a Trainer seriously, he still had a chance to become an excellent Gym Leader.

It was a pity that his mind never seemed to be on serious matters.

Although Takeo's words were maliciously demeaning, when Flint released his Pokémon, he was still very happy.

However, he still grumbled about Flint, "Hmph, dawdling, wasting time."

Flint was so scolded by his father-in-law that he didn't dare to utter a single word. Only after Graveler's defeat and another scolding did he finally regain some spirit. "Again!"

Giovanni smiled slightly, "As you wish."

Rhydon immediately stomped its feet repeatedly! Bang! Bang! Then it let out a roar!

The Sandslash opposite flinched and pulled its head back, but for its master, it was still willing to fight Rhydon!

Takeo, from above, waved his hand and spoke again:

"The second match begins: Sandslash versus Rhydon."

The two Pokémon immediately charged at each other! A great battle began once more!
