Shen Mu was indeed running a fever, probably because her wound had reopened. In order to make it more realistic, she took a cold shower for an hour. Now that her goal was achieved, she took out two fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory pills from her luggage and swallowed them before collapsing onto the bed and falling asleep.
When Gu Xiong walked in, Shen Mu was sound asleep due to the fever-reducing pills. "Miss Qin? Miss Qin? Are you asleep?" Gu Xiong tentatively called out to her. Shen Mu frowned slightly but still didn't open her eyes. She just turned over and went back to sleep.
Gu Xiong walked to the bedside and looked at Shen Mu's closed eyes and steady breathing. He knew she was really sick and probably at her most vulnerable right now. Gu Xiong placed the medicine box on the table and took out a syringe from it. He flicked the medicine inside and found the right spot on Shen Mu's slender arm.
