Chapter 549 - 549 Peace Ambassador Grindelwald

Over the course of a single day, Wayne discovered he had actually obtained nearly twenty thousand system points.

More than half came from facilitating cooperation between the British wizarding world and the government, while the remainder came from various other sources.

The two thousand points added from the 'battlefield of love' made cold sweat drip down his back.

If not for the system's reminder, he wouldn't have noticed that he had gathered all his romantic entanglements in Britain.

Apart from Penelope and Grace, who were in London, everyone else was at Hogwarts and Hogsmeade...

This couldn't continue, or it would be the death of him.

Wayne shook his head frantically. The system had essentially saved his life; in all the complicated matters lately, he hadn't noticed this point.

He needed to find some tasks for Sakura and Cassandra, otherwise he would surely be the one to suffer.

Contemplating this, Wayne casually used all twenty thousand points for draws.

He no longer had the habit of saving points, having converted most rewards into shop points, which he then exchanged for the Dragon King's inheritance and some runic talent.

The grand prize for destroying the world in the void had yielded one percent of the Dragon King's inheritance.

He exchanged for another portion himself. Only the final part of these inheritances mentioned False Gods.

Wayne estimated that the first five percent corresponded to the Legend level, while the subsequent sections should contain knowledge about False Gods and Demigods.

Indeed, only in recent research did he discover that, above the False Gods, there was no direct ascension to true divinity, but rather an intermediate Demigod stage.

There were many ways to attain False Godhood, but they all ultimately followed the same path.

It involved pushing a particular ability or aspect of one's body beyond its limits, transforming it toward divinity, then drawing divine power into the body, utilising and controlling it, finally burning it to ignite the divine spark and achieve True Godhood.

Those possessing a trace of divine power could be called False Gods, while those who had replaced all their energy with divine power but hadn't ignited their divine spark could still be termed False Gods.

Hence, the gap between them was so vast that a separate Demigod tier was distinguished.

When divine power reached a certain concentration, it would transform the body into a divine vessel. False Gods possessing divine vessels were called Demigods.

The most famous Demigods on Runeterra were the Freljord trio: Ornn, the Fire below the Mountain, Volibear, the Relentless Storm, and Anivia, the Cryophoenix - considered the pinnacle of the continent, whom even the mortal avatars of the Aspects dared not provoke.

Wayne found his own situation somewhat special again...

A crystalline arcane rune appeared between his eyebrows. Vast amounts of magical power poured into it, transforming into more refined magical power that returned to his body at a conversion rate of approximately one hundred to one.

'Is this divine power?'

Wayne's expression turned peculiar.

He hadn't even fully reached the peak of the Legend realm, yet divine power could manifest within him. Did that make him a False God?

Not only that, when he condensed starlight power to its extreme, it could generate higher-level stellar core power, with quality not inferior to the divine power converted by the arcane rune.

So, he, a mere Legend, actually possessed two types of divine power.

This situation wasn't explained at all in the Dragon King's inheritance, leaving him thoroughly confused about his own condition.

However, one thing was certain: even if he didn't qualify as a False God, he was still far stronger than ordinary Legends.

"Now we just wait for someone to show themselves..."

The young man's gaze was profound, his hand loosely clenched as his magical power dissipated entirely.

...

The next day, Wayne didn't rush to meet Keynes and those Ministers for Magic. Instead, he summoned Sakura, Tomoyo and the others.

Wayne looked at the girls and asked:

"The situation remains unclear, but Britain is relatively safe. Is there anything you'd like to do? I can make arrangements."

Sakura and Tomoyo exchanged glances, both seeing the confusion in each other's eyes.

They weren't alone - their family members had been brought along too. Especially the Daidouji family, who held prominent positions in Japan. They wouldn't have agreed to come to Britain unless the situation was truly critical.

"I can arrange positions for them in the Ministry of Magic." Wayne, noticing their concerns, revealed the solution he'd already prepared.

"But they're not British." Tomoyo hesitated. How could a national government allow foreigners to intervene so deeply?

"This is just a temporary arrangement. They'll join the Department of International Magical Cooperation." Wayne said. "In these circumstances, communication with the outside world is essential, and they'll be among the first to learn about developments in Japan. Don't worry, I have a complete plan."

"Alright then." Tomoyo nodded gently. "Do I need to go too?"

"No." Wayne produced a scroll of parchment. "If you don't have anything specific you want to do, I recommend you and Sakura go to Nicolas Flamel's."

"He's helping me with something and is quite short-handed at the moment. Plus, you can learn a great deal about alchemy there."

"I'll go!" Sakura nodded happily. The Clow Cards represented a fusion of magic and alchemy - studying under Nicolas Flamel would surely bring her great benefits.

"These are designs for several new cards I've created. You can try to make them."

Wayne handed over the parchment. Sakura unrolled it and saw the names of three new cards - Star, Thunder, World Ender.

"Cassandra, would you be willing to work at a bank?" Wayne asked next.

"Lawrence Bank?"

"Yes."

Cassandra thought for a moment. "Could I stay at Hogwarts as a teacher instead?"

Wayne's heart skipped a beat. "In principle, I agree, but currently there are no vacant teaching positions at the school. However, Muggle Studies and Arithmancy do need assistant professors. Have you studied those subjects?"

Cassandra fell silent. Ilvermorny didn't offer those courses - she couldn't teach what she hadn't learned.

Seeing this, Wayne secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Problem solved, at last.

...

At the Ministry of Magic, Wayne ultimately didn't get to meet Keynes and the visiting Ministers for Magic.

They had left last night. Compared to Britain's relative calm, many places had descended into chaos.

It wasn't just the disturbances caused by ancient wizards - wizards were still human, after all. Aside from the occasional madmen who wreaked havoc, most retained their rationality.

The real trouble came from the beasts and dark creatures. Just like in Japan, thousands of Goblins had emerged from deep mountains, causing tens of thousands of casualties in just one day.

The Muggle governments had no energy to spare for the 'suddenly appearing super-powered individuals'. Containing the spread of these monsters was their primary task.

"I had a brief meeting with the Muggle Prime Minister. He's quite a decent man."

Dumbledore was in reasonably good spirits. Jim Hacker's attitude had reassured him considerably - at least the other party approached with friendliness and hadn't shown significant hostility towards wizards.

"Currently, two Aurors are responsible for his security. Tomorrow he wants me to attend a Muggle government meeting with him, but I think you'd be more suitable than me..."

Dumbledore looked at Wayne. He knew his own weaknesses - to put it nicely, he was good-tempered; to put it bluntly, he was weak and insufficiently firm.

In negotiations between two races, if he conceded too much, it would put the wizarding community in a passive position.

"My identity is rather sensitive; I'm not suitable." Wayne shook his head. "My uncle is still a senior official in the Muggle government. How do you expect me to negotiate?"

Dumbledore slapped his forehead in annoyance - he'd forgotten about that. "Then Crouch it is."

"Crouch won't do either." Wayne vetoed Dumbledore's suggestion. "The power he's demonstrated isn't enough to make those politicians think twice. I think Grindelwald would be good."

"Are you trying to wipe them all out?" Dumbledore looked at him with a strange expression.

Sending Grindelwald to negotiate peace with Muggles - what kind of... wisdom could come up with such a method?

"Professor, you can't always judge people by old standards," Wayne advised. "If Grindelwald dares to cause trouble, I'll kill him. Is he willing to die now?"

"I suspect he'd already figured out how to negotiate with Muggles back then, but you and Senior Newt stopped him."

"..."

When put that way, he really couldn't refute it.

"Let's ask his opinion first." Dumbledore took out the two-way mirror and quickly contacted Grindelwald, who was far away at Durmstrang.

Upon hearing that Wayne wanted to invite him to negotiate with the British government, he immediately became interested.

"Now you're showing some insight. I guarantee, in the entire wizarding world besides you, no one understands those fat pigs better than I do." Grindelwald said with full confidence.

...

Number 10 Downing Street was hosting a cabinet meeting.

British Prime Minister Jim Hacker, Civil Service head Humphrey, various departmental ministers, and opposition shadow cabinet members were all present.

These represented Britain's most powerful individuals, each to some extent representing the interests of certain behind-the-scenes figures.

They had only one topic to discuss: their attitude towards wizards.

"We have one hundred thousand army personnel, with an equal number in reserves. Wizards? How many divisions do wizards have?" The Defence Secretary pounded the table, full of bluster.

"Do you want to start a war on our own soil against people who are British nationals?" Hacker looked at him as if he were an idiot. "Twenty thousand wizards, most of whom can easily destroy a building and appear mysteriously in anyone's fireplace."

"We still have Trident." the military representative said. "Lure them all together for a surprise attack and blow them all up."

"Don't mention that thing." Hacker said irritably. "Fifty-year-old antiques work better than it does."

"The two largest wizarding gathering points are both in central London. Do you want to raze Downing Street to the ground as well?"

"Prime Minister, I believe you have the courage for that." The opposition stirred maliciously. "For national security, necessary sacrifices are unavoidable."

"Very well, I shall announce publicly that this was your decision, Pitt."

"Wait a moment!" The opposition leader broke out in a cold sweat. "I believe we should deliberate this matter more carefully."

He wanted to bring Hacker down, not commit political suicide.

Anyone who gave such an order would destroy their political career along with their party's prospects for decades to come.

"Prime Minister, how can we be certain your intelligence is accurate?" The military representative remained sceptical. "If these... freaks are truly so powerful, why have they remained hidden until now?"

Twenty thousand reusable humanoid missiles could overwhelm not just the British Isles, but even the North American continent.

"Because many wizards share the mentality of ordinary people - they fear death too," Hacker explained. "In fact, given their population, even a few dozen casualties would be considered a major catastrophe in the wizarding world."

"Claims without evidence mean little, and I must admit my knowledge of the wizarding world remains limited." Hacker pressed the red button on his desk.

"But no matter - I've invited two wizards who can answer whatever questions you may have."

The doors swung open to reveal Kingsley Shacklebolt in traditional wizarding robes and Grindelwald in a high-collared black trench coat.

Grindelwald entered with his hands clasped behind his back, his piercing eyes sweeping across the room before his mouth curved into a brilliant smile.

"Good day to you, gentlemen who govern Britain. Allow me to introduce myself - I am Gellert Grindelwald, peace envoy dispatched by the Ministry of Magic."
