LUCIUS'S POV.
My jaw tightened as Logan's last words echoed in my head and that smug tone, that grin that made my blood boil. I wanted to slice it off his face with the shards of glass still embedded in my palm. My claws itched beneath my skin, begging to come out, to spill blood. But I try as much to control my wolf.
I turned away sharply, forcing my legs to carry me out of that suffocating hall before I did something that would start a war between packs. My veins pulsed black beneath my skin… the darkness inside me was awake, restless.
I exhaled harshly, muttering under my breath, "You're lucky, Logan… you're damn lucky."
The glass pieces cut deeper into my palm as I clenched my fist, but I barely felt it. Pain was nothing compared to the storm raging inside me.
