Cherreads

Chapter 157 - 157

The atmosphere was a little dull. The banquet, which was originally scheduled to last for a day and a night, ended abruptly. The transcendents also left. They were going to look for the children who were teleported here, so they could live well in this world full of magic.

As for the other side... Irene didn't listen to anything Ur said about being a mother. In truth, Irene hadn't had a good meal for hundreds of years, and food was far more attractive to her than Ur's lectures.

Ur was also a little desperate. The gap between people was sometimes really big. And then... because of some strange reasons, Irene and Erza started arguing again. It seemed that this mother and daughter couldn't go a single day without a fight.

So, Caesar went through a lot of trouble to find an open and empty place for them and told them to let it all out there. After the fight, everything would be fine. Of course, everyone in the guild was very interested in this little "show."

As for Jellal... on one side was the girl he liked, and on the other was his potential future mother-in-law. It was hard for him too!

In the wilderness, Erza and Irene stood facing each other. Mirajane walked up to Caesar and whispered, "The two of them are fighting again. Are you okay with that?"

"I'll keep an eye on them. If anything happens, I'll pull them apart," Caesar said helplessly. If he had known this would happen, he would never have brought Irene back. It would have been better to just return with Mirajane to the Alvarez Empire. That way, there wouldn't be so many problems.

At that moment, Erza and Irene moved. Erza put on her strongest Fairy Armor and charged forward, her two swords sweeping toward Irene. Seeing her use her strongest armor right from the start, everyone in the guild could tell how much pressure Erza was under.

And honestly, Irene deserved it. With four hundred years of experience and immense magical power, her strength was enough to make anyone despair. That's why she was called the Scarlet Despair.

Facing Erza's attack, Irene didn't panic. She pointed her staff, sending out a beam of light that clashed with Erza's swords.

A huge explosion followed. Erza flew backward, sliding across the ground before stopping. Irene didn't move an inch.

"Is that all?" Irene sighed, waving her staff. A fireball over ten meters wide appeared and shot toward Erza.

"The Flame Emperor's Armor!" Erza instantly changed armors, dodging the attack. Her twin ponytails flew behind her as she swung her flaming sword, slashing toward Irene.

Irene tapped her staff lightly, and the flaming attack disappeared. Erza took the chance to switch into the Heavenly Wheel Armor.

"The Sword of Chaos!" she shouted. Countless blades shot forward, stabbing toward Irene.

Irene laughed as the swords fell. Dust filled the air.

"That's a good move," Irene's voice came from within the dust. "A little red flower as a reward."

She waved her staff, and the smoke cleared. Irene stood untouched. Around her, Erza's swords were stuck neatly in the ground, forming the shape of a flower. Everyone was speechless. They had never seen Erza humiliated like this. Irene was terrifyingly strong.

"If you only have this much strength, you'll be spanked," Irene said as she pointed her staff. The swords melted into molten iron and scattered. The next moment, an invisible shock wave slammed into Erza.

Her Heavenly Wheel Armor shattered. She flew back and hit the ground hard.

"Too weak!" Irene raised her hand. A massive orb of light appeared, engulfing Erza.

Boom!

When the explosion ended, Erza was left injured, barely standing by using her sword as support. She hadn't even unlocked her Second Origin yet. Meanwhile, she was facing an "old monster" who had lived for over four centuries.

"The Garment of a Pure Heart." She changed again. Her outfit was red with yellow flame patterns and white flowers near the bottom. Her upper body was wrapped in bandages, and she was barefoot. Her weapon changed to the demon sword Hongying.

"Don't you need protection anymore?" Irene smirked. "The gap between you and Her Majesty is too big. Accept it."

An invisible wave rushed toward Erza. She didn't retreat. Instead, she advanced, her sword slashing down.

Under Irene's surprised gaze, Erza's sword cut through the shock wave, and she charged forward.

"Your Majesty, you learned swordsmanship from me!" Erza shouted, slashing again.

Irene blocked with her staff, unleashing a burst of magic power. Erza didn't care. Despite her wounds, she pushed through and struck again.

Their weapons clashed hard. Irene was pushed back, dragged half a meter across the ground. Before she could react, Erza launched another furious series of slashes.

"It looks good," Irene said calmly. A massive sphere of light appeared above her and exploded.

"Tsk." Caesar clicked his tongue. The next moment, time stopped. As the explosion went off, Caesar vanished, grabbing both women and pulling them out of the blast zone in an instant.

The explosion shook the entire area. Everyone in the guild staggered from the shock.

When it was over, they saw Caesar standing between Erza and Irene, punching both of them on the head. The two immediately squatted down, holding their heads in pain.

"We're mother and daughter, and you're trying to kill each other? Reflect on yourselves!" Caesar roared.

Both Erza and Irene fell silent. If they truly fought for real, neither of them could stand against Caesar. When he unleashed his full power, only the top-level beings in the Fairy Tail world could compete with him.

After all, in this world, the one with the bigger fist always has the final say.
