Cherreads

Chapter 250 - 250

"Caesar, tell me, is what Elfman said true or false?"

Outside maze area, Mirajane and Caesar fed each other fruit.

Both looked worried while staring at last remaining magic screen.

Elfman face mixed with Abbey Green glasses appeared on small baby body.

Image felt absurd and cruel.

Mirajane felt tears welling up.

Heart nearly broke.

"It is obviously fake.

Just distraction."

Erza spoke seriously.

Yet eyes softened.

"But having child would be nice."

Voice drifted into dream.

Mind wandered toward Elfman and Abba Green.

Fantasy felt strangely warm.

"I think Jellal will win this year S class assessment."

Laxus stared at screen.

"Luck stayed with him.

Mana use stayed low.

Condition looks best."

"Luck counts as strength."

Caesar laughed lightly.

"But result feels unfair."

"He gets spot too easily."

"I will step in."

"Wait, Caesar."

"Are you planning to disrupt assessment?"

Erza snapped back.

Eyes filled with vigilance.

"Not even married yet."

"Already worried about future husband?"

Caesar glanced toward Erza.

Smile carried tease.

Erza blushed instantly.

Face turned red.

Steam almost rose.

"Relax."

"I will not interfere directly."

Caesar looked back at screen.

Tone turned calm.

"I only speed process."

"Final winner already among them."

"Let them clash."

"Let fate decide."

Hands clapped once.

Palms struck ground.

Maze shook violently.

Deep paths twisted instantly.

All routes merged.

Wide battle platform formed.

Arena waited silently.

Four teams approached.

Natsu and Happy arrived first.

One human.

One exceed.

Happy magic nearly gone.

Natsu recovered much strength.

Next came Jellal and Mavis.

Clothes torn slightly.

Condition remained solid.

Gray entered with Ur.

Eyes narrowed instantly.

Both crushed Spell Jewel.

True forms returned.

Elfman and Abba Green arrived last.

Both near tears.

Mechanisms tormented them badly.

All curse jade exhausted.

Other teams still looked stable.

Pressure felt overwhelming.

"Everyone arrived."

"Final battle begins now."

Caesar voice echoed across space.

Authority carried weight.

All teams grew serious.

Chaos loomed.

Grand melee unfolded.

Fairy Tail tradition lived on.

Final victor must emerge.

No retreat remained.

"Ur, target Jellal first."

Gray spoke quickly.

Jellal and Melty held highest mana.

Leaving them meant disaster.

Abba Green saw same danger.

Alliance formed instantly.

Elfman nodded firmly.

Plan locked in.

"This feels bad."

Jellal stiffened.

"Jellal, leave it to you."

Melty stood back to back.

"Magic Link."

Spell activated.

Patterns appeared on wrists.

Mana flowed into Jellal.

"Thank you."

Relief washed over him.

Mana recovery mattered greatly.

Environment drained reserves fast.

"Seven Star Sword."

"Meteor Shower."

Light burst outward.

Attacks rained down.

Natsu joined fight instantly.

Happy followed despite exhaustion.

"Is this end…"

Observers thought silently.

Battle balance already broken.

Two teams suffered fatal flaws.

Natsu relied on Happy flight too long.

Happy collapsed first.

Single strike sent Happy flying away.

Rules forced Natsu elimination.

Elfman situation mirrored fate.

Abba Green stalled Mirajane too long.

Magic drained heavily.

Weak point exposed.

Elfman fell soon after.

Only Gray and Ur remained.

Mana reserves ran dry.

No replenishment possible.

Only single decisive strike could save them.

Chance felt slim.

Magic Link shared senses.

Damage split between Melty and Jellal.

Attrition favored linked pair.

Gray and Ur faded slowly.

Mana emptied completely.

Defeat followed swiftly.

"Are these people monsters?"

Melty collapsed to ground.

Spell faded away.

Body trembled from strain.

"Normal."

Jellal breathed heavily.

"Three teams pressed us."

None felt weak.

"Caesar sets standards high."

"Only S class level mages enter."

"Missions count too."

Assessment stays brutal.

"They already stand at S class."

"Title just missing."

Melty sighed quietly.

Goal still felt distant.

Both walked deeper into labyrinth.

Path stayed clear.

Flag stood on stone platform.

Jellal reached out.

Hand grasped cloth.

Heart pounded.

Flag pulled free.

Cheers erupted outside.

Assessment ended perfectly.

Result stood clear.

Jellal advanced to S class mage.

Fairy Tail roared in pride.
