Chapter 382 - Primordial Flame

The giant dragon's voice was heavy. "Young Master, I'll leave this ignorant child of mine in your care."

Yun Jin quickly nodded. "Don't worry, you can count on me."

She felt a bit embarrassed. She had barely made an appearance, and now she'd somehow abducted someone else's child. Considering the dragon hadn't tried to roast her on the spot, he was already being remarkably polite.

The dragon seemed to lose interest in speaking further. He spoke slowly, "My situation, An Tong and the others are aware of. If you ever need my help, just let this child tell me. We Lava Dragons have our own special way of communicating. But every time I act, it costs me some of my waking time. If I go all out, I'll probably fall back into slumber within twenty-four hours."

A trace of sorrow flickered in the dragon's eyes. "Our race is considered powerful among the super spirit beasts. We grow stronger simply by sleeping. But in return, we carry a flaw. Though our lives are long, we spend most of them asleep. Many Lava Dragons reach the end of their lifespan without ever seeing much of this magnificent world. This child… will likely be the same. If he falls into slumber, I ask that you not resent him. It is beyond his control."

Yun Jin nodded. "I understand."

A spark of interest flickered in her eyes.

A race of beasts whose power grew through sleep—how fascinating.

She thought back to her Beastmaster talent.

Bloodline Purification.

Gun Gun and Huan Huan had both undergone one round of bloodline purification, and the improvements had been massive.

Once they reached the Golden Core stage, they would be ready for a second round—and would only grow stronger from there.

For the Lava Dragons, their excessive need for slumber could be seen as a bloodline defect, couldn't it?

If she used Bloodline Purification, maybe she could solve that flaw.

One round wasn't enough? Then two rounds. Three.

Yun Jin had a feeling.

This little Lava Dragon, after repeated purifications, might evolve into something truly terrifying.

The dragon gave a few final instructions, then lost all interest in talking. He cast a reluctant look at the egg, then slipped back into the lava. He never reemerged.

The egg bounced up onto Yun Jin's head, even waving toward the lava, like it couldn't wait to get out of there.

With the egg perched on her head, Yun Jin turned and left the lava cave.

Tian Po Sword chuckled. "Young Master, this is a super spirit beast. Once it hatches, it'll start at the Divine Transformation stage at minimum—and it'll be ready for combat right away. That means you've gained another powerful ally."

The egg bounced lightly on Yun Jin's head, clearly in agreement.

"Alright, alright. I'll look forward to your birth then." Yun Jin gently held the egg in her arms again, just in case it messed up her hair.

Her third contracted beast would be this super spirit beast—the Lava Dragon. As for its name? "Dan Dan" would do just fine.

"Young Master, between the sword spirit and the Lava Dragon, you should be able to handle most situations," said Tian Po Sword. "And if things still get out of hand, I can temporarily unleash Mahayana-level strength."

Yun Jin nodded.

If she went all out—

That meant the sword spirit, the Lava Dragon, and Tian Po Sword—three Mahayana-level forces.

That should be more than enough to deal with the Tianxing Sect.

Yun Jin checked their current location.

Shan Dian-fast flight wouldn't take long. In a few more hours, they would arrive near the Tianxing Sect.

"I've made some gains recently. I'm going into seclusion for a bit. Call me when we're near the sea region by Tianxing Sect," Yun Jin said.

Tian Po Sword agreed.

Yun Jin found a secluded chamber and began processing her recent harvest.

She released Gun Gun and Huan Huan, asking them to take Dan Dan and go explore elsewhere for a while.

When Gun Gun and Huan Huan saw Dan Dan, they both felt a sudden sense of crisis.

Even though they were older and more experienced, Dan Dan's sheer rank already put him a cut above them.

He was still just an egg, and they could already feel the pressure.

No good. They needed to get stronger—fast.

Otherwise, their master might get tired of them and favor the new baby instead.

They were wary of Dan Dan, but fortunately, he was a complete airhead. He bounced happily between them, eager to play and acting incredibly affectionate.

Gun Gun and Huan Huan felt a little guilty. He was just a baby who hadn't even hatched yet.

So, the three of them ran off to mess around inside Wushuang Sect.

Yun Jin didn't bother with them. With An Tong watching, they couldn't cause too much trouble.

Her brief seclusion had two main purposes.

The first:

Now that she was at the Divine Transformation stage, she could open a fourth Beastmaster space and awaken her second Beastmaster talent.

Normally, a Beastmaster would only gain three talents in their lifetime.

After awakening a second talent at Divine Transformation, the third usually wouldn't come until the Tribulation or even Mahayana stage.

So in the short term, this second talent would be her last—and Yun Jin had high hopes for it.

The second:

She needed to sort through the many Primordial Fragments she'd gained from the River of Enlightenment.

If she could combine enough of them, maybe she could form a complete Primordial Force. A single Primordial Force was made up of countless fragments, which cultivators referred to as Concepts.

Low, middle, high, and superior Concepts.

Similar low-grade Concepts could merge into middle-grade ones.

Middle could merge into high.

And similar high-grade Concepts could, in turn, form a superior one.

If she gathered enough superior Concepts of the same element, she might comprehend the corresponding Primordial Force. And once she mastered a Primordial Force, her strength would soar.

She began with the first task.

Yun Jin sat down and focused, opening her fourth Beastmaster space.

With her previous three experiences, this went smoothly.

Once the space formed—

She immediately awakened her second Beastmaster talent.

This one was quite interesting.

Name: Power Borrowing.

With this talent—

She could borrow the talents and strength of her spirit beasts.

While she borrowed them, the beast could not use the corresponding abilities.

Yun Jin blinked.

Gun Gun and Huan Huan weren't very high level, so she couldn't borrow much raw power.

But their talents...

She experimentally borrowed one talent from Gun Gun.

Immediately—

A suit of iron armor materialized on her body.

Because of Gun Gun's current cultivation, the armor's strength wasn't especially high.

But—

What if Gun Gun reached Divine Transformation as well?

Then wearing that battle armor would make her nearly unbreakable to most cultivators at her level. She gave it a brief test, then returned the talent and tried Huan Huan's sensory talent. This one, though still low-grade, enhanced her perception noticeably. Her five senses felt sharper, more acute.

Again—once this talent was leveled up...

In battle or reconnaissance, it would be a tremendous advantage.

If her first talent was about increasing the potential of her beasts—

Then this second one was all about boosting her personal combat strength.

Yun Jin was quite satisfied.

A Beastmaster could have up to seven spirit beasts. Once she gathered all seven and trained them to full strength, she could borrow their powers at will.

That was practically invincible.

Outside, Gun Gun and Huan Huan suddenly felt something shift between them and their master. When they sensed their talents being borrowed and then returned, realization hit them immediately.

So, the master's new talent... was to borrow theirs.

They exchanged a glance, then looked at the still-bouncing Dan Dan.See? The master still liked them best. That silly egg didn't get its talent borrowed!

It didn't take long for Yun Jin to finish awakening her second talent.

Then she moved on to the second task—organizing her Primordial Fragments.

Last time, she had gathered seven gold-colored supreme fragments, twenty orange high-grade fragments, and too many lower ones to count.

Among the seven gold fragments, three were fire-based.

Specifically:

Supreme Concept: Explosion.

Supreme Concept: Blazing.

Supreme Concept: Flame Dominion.

Many of the other fragments were also fire-aligned—nearly half of what she'd collected.

Yun Jin couldn't help but feel curious.

What was going on?

Did she have an affinity with fire?

That wasn't quite right.

Her elemental roots were perfectly balanced—none stood out.

She thought for a moment.

It was probably because she already wielded a high-grade fire concept: Flame Dragon.

Through resonance, fire-based fragments had gathered toward her.

She also possessed a high-grade metal concept: Sharpness.

But she had only received a few metal fragments.

It seemed some of this came down to Luck.

She didn't know the exact reason, but judging from what she had—

Her first Primordial Force would definitely be fire-based. These fragments would help her comprehend it quickly.

Yun Jin looked at the first supreme fire fragment: Explosion.

She touched it with her mind.

Understanding dawned.

This concept emphasized fire's explosive force—how it could erupt in a single overwhelming burst.

Next: Blazing.

A slower, tormenting fire. Once it latched onto someone, it was nearly impossible to extinguish.

Lastly: Flame Dominion.

Mastery of this concept allowed one to command all fire under heaven.

"System," Yun Jin asked, "to master the Fire Law, aside from these three, what else is needed?"

[Ten high-grade comprehension attempts will be consumed. Proceed?]

Yun Jin raised an eyebrow.

Not too expensive.

She might have been able to ask Tian Po Sword or others for the answer—but she trusted the system more.

She confirmed.

The cost was deducted.

The system gave the answer:

[The Law of Fire requires five supreme concepts. In addition to the three you have—Explosion, Blazing, Flame Dominion—you must also comprehend Wildfire and Flame Mastery. Wildfire allows flames to spread instantly across heaven and earth. Flame Mastery enhances all fire's power.]

Yun Jin's brow lifted slightly.

Explosion, Scorch, Flame Dominion, Wildfire, Flame Mastery.

These were the five supreme concepts required to master the Primordial Flame

Once she fully grasped all five, she would naturally attain mastery over fire—and step onto the Primordial Force.

蛋 (dàn) means "egg".

So Yun Jin literally call it 'Egg'

You can visit my shared documents and folder if you curious about the 'Concept', if I remember correctly I already write about it too in there.
