Chapter 626 - The Phantom of a Divine Beast

Yun Jin blinked. "Of course I know. The human race's classics also record such common knowledge."

She looked directly at the red-haired man. "If you win, I'll put Gun Gun and Huan Huan back into their beast space. But if you lose..."

Yun Jin stroked her chin thoughtfully. "If you lose, you'll have to recognize Gun Gun as your Big Brother, and Huan Huan as your Big Sister. How about that?"

Given what she knew of her two spirit beasts, this wager was exactly the sort of thing they'd enjoy.

Big Brother? Big Sister?

The Red-Winged Tiger felt utterly insulted. He shot to his feet with a snarl. "That's fine by me! But you'd better ask your two spirit beasts first if they even have the courage!"

To him, this was laughable.

Two high-grade spirit beasts daring to challenge a super spirit beast in bloodline might?

What could this be but self-humiliation?

"Good, I'll call them over." Yun Jin smiled and summoned Gun Gun and Huan Huan through her spiritual link.

They had no idea what was happening, but ran over at once.

"Gun Gun, Huan Huan, this is the super spirit beast, Red-Winged Tiger," Yun Jin introduced smoothly.

"Brother, that red fur of yours looks pretty good," Gun Gun said with envy. "I've always felt I lacked some color. Luckily, I have my Rainbow Battle Armor!"

With that, he donned his rainbow armor and began wiggling his rear.

The red-haired man's face turned dark.

Brother?

Who was his brother!

He couldn't resist releasing a wave of super spirit beast aura toward Gun Gun. Yet Gun Gun seemed oblivious, still twisting happily.

The Red-Winged Tiger's expression shifted sharply.

Gun Gun's cultivation was lower, his bloodline inferior, and yet he hadn't reacted at all to the suppression?

How could a mere Iron-Eating Beast shrug off even a partial release of his aura?

Yun Jin acted as though she hadn't noticed, smiling faintly. "Gun Gun, Huan Huan, Red-Winged Tiger wants a bloodline showdown with you two. Are you willing?"

"Of course!" Gun Gun pounded his chest. "A real man should face a bloodline duel head-on!"

Huan Huan, more sensitive, glanced at Yun Jin, then at the Red-Winged Tiger's expression. She laughed lightly. "I listen to Master."

Yun Jin turned back. "Well?"

The Red-Winged Tiger gritted his teeth. "Fine. As long as no one claims I bullied your beasts."

"Naturally not," Yun Jin said, pulling out a pouch of sunflower seeds. "Then let's begin."

She was already cracking seeds leisurely, thoroughly entertained.

Rong Zhou, watching, could hardly bear it. He sent a voice transmission to Yun Jin. "Do you understand? A bloodline duel can wound a beast if it loses."

Yun Jin replied calmly, "Don't worry, I've prepared for it. I have pills ready."

Rong Zhou was struck speechless, even angry. "They are your spirit beasts. Do you truly not care if they're hurt?"

His poor granddaughter—under Yun Jin's hand, what kind of life was she even living?

But Yun Jin's transmission came again: "Senior, you misunderstand. The pills are for the Red-Winged Tiger. After all, he provoked first. A little lesson shouldn't be excessive, right?"

Rong Zhou turned, staring at her to see if she was joking.

But Yun Jin's expression was utterly serious.

Rong Zhou: "???"

No way, no way—does she really believe her beasts can win?

"Then we start with you!" The Red-Winged Tiger glared fiercely at Gun Gun.

Gun Gun was delighted. "Brother, I knew you wanted to fight me most! This is the unspoken bond between men!"

Huan Huan rolled her eyes and stepped aside.

Mu Mu brought Dan Dan and Xiao Bao over as well.

Dan Dan shouted excitedly, "Big Brother Gun Gun, go for it!"

Though Dan Dan's cultivation and grade were higher, since the days she'd still been an egg, Gun Gun and Huan Huan had been the ones dragging her along. She had always called them Big Brother and Big Sister.

That single address made all the super spirit beasts' faces change.

A super spirit beast calling a high-grade beast Big Brother? Absurd!

Some of the elder super spirit beasts had thought of stopping the duel, but now they held back. If Yun Jin didn't understand their rules, fine. But today she'd learn firsthand the vast gulf between super spirit beasts and high-grade ones.

"Brother, let's begin." Gun Gun beckoned warmly.

The Red-Winged Tiger could endure no more.

A strange power suddenly erupted from his body.

As a human, Yun Jin couldn't sense it at all.

But among the spirit beasts, all immediately felt it.

Even in the distant high-grade beast region, many felt their chests tighten uncomfortably.

"What is this?"

"It's the bloodline power of a super spirit beast!"

Some tried to crane their necks to see, but the distance was too great. If just brushing the edge of it caused them discomfort, what of the one it was aimed at?

Other than another super spirit beast, any lower grade would surely be grievously harmed!

The Red-Winged Tiger fixed his gaze on Gun Gun, eyes bloodshot. He had been gradually increasing his bloodline suppression, until now it was nearly at maximum.

Yet this Iron-Eating Beast remained utterly unaffected?

Damn it! What's going on?

Sweat beaded across his brow.

Something is wrong. Something is terribly wrong!

"Brother, are you tired?" Gun Gun asked kindly. "This is turn-based, right? You rest a bit, then I'll go."

The next instant—

Gun Gun's blood roared to life. He too unleashed his bloodline power!

It was the first time he had released it at full force.

The Red-Winged Tiger snorted dismissively. What could a high-grade beast's bloodline amount to? No matter what—

But before the thought finished—

His pupils shrank violently.

In his vision, the Iron-Eating Beast loomed impossibly large.

Gun Gun, clad in battle armor, eyes glowing scarlet, his whole body shrouded in black demonic plating.

The colossal beast wielded twin hammers, each step toward him pounding directly on his heart.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

The Red-Winged Tiger's heartbeat raced faster and faster.

Then the monstrous Iron-Eating Beast bent low, jaws yawning wide.

With a scream, the Red-Winged Tiger collapsed into unconsciousness.

The field fell utterly silent.

Gun Gun looked confused, glancing from the fallen tiger to Yun Jin. "Master, what happened to Brother?"

The super spirit beasts all stood, staring at Gun Gun in disbelief.

In that instant when his bloodline had fully flared, they had seen it—

Behind him, a massive phantom of an Iron-Eating Beast had manifested.

Bloodline Manifestation!

This...

This was something only a divine beast could achieve!
