Why Katsuki Bakugo?! Why the boy who was ubiquitously known across the entire school as the most troublesome?!
As Rikuya Katsuki stared at Bakugo's dream, he couldn't help but rethink these questions that he had been asking himself for the last few moments.
A blue mote of light pulsed next to him, as if staring at the little boy as well.
[… A Radiant must know how to sacrifice personal interests for the greater good.] Singularity pulsed. [For Justice, Truth, and Righteousness. To stand tall against adverse situations, both internal and external. To go against one's morals, if needed. Bakugo has had these qualities in him, but only recently have they begun surfacing.]
"And what makes you think he will accept it?" Rikuya demanded. "As far as I know, the boy's a twisted ball of pride, ego, and rage. Nothing more."
[He will…]
"Why?!"
[… because that's his Fate, as it's yours, and as it's of all Radiants.]
…
Bakugo fell.
Pretty common dream, he realized in the back of his mind, his eyes opening up with a start, nonetheless.
Something felt different, though. Even as his heart raced, and despite it being pretty dark, Bakugo could instinctively tell he wasn't alone.
A Villain?!
Grinning, Bakugo lifted his hands for a fight.
Out of nowhere, the surrounding darkness boiled.
Then, a blueness seeped in, taking the shape of a ring around a black hole, pulsating rhythmically.
The Blue Hole!
Then, with each rhythm, the Blue Hole uttered the same words that it had spoken moments ago to Rikuya.
When it finished, Bakugo stared at it with a stunned face. "What the fuck…"
"Whoa! That's a pretty strong language…"
Bakugo didn't even wait to see who had spoken.
A BOOM echoed against the blackness as an explosion burned everything in that direction.
When the fire died, though, Bakugo couldn't see anyone there.
"Here…"
Bakugo snapped to his right, sparks flickering on his left hand.
But this time, a hand grabbed his wrist, two black eyes staring right back at him, glowing blue.
"Easy," Rikuya said. "What are you? An animal?! Don't just attack anything you see…"
"Who are you?!" Bakugo asked, narrowing his eyes.
One wrong answer, and he would show this bastard that holding his wrists was already a bad move.
"Dammit…" Rikuya mumbled under his breath. "I told you this wasn't a good idea… Cough! I am Dream Walker…"
Dream Walker?! Bakugo couldn't remember any Hero or Villain by that name.
"You heard the thing, right?" Rikuya asked, pointing at the illusion of Blue Hole he had created, without any special effects like he had experienced. He couldn't replicate them even if he wanted to. "Radiant…"
Bakugo snatched his hand back. "I don't care," he said. "One more chance. Who are you and where are we?"
Rikuya sighed. "I am Dream Walker," he repeated. "It should have given you a hint if you weren't so busy being a complete fucking idiot!"
[… Sigh!]
Bakugo, who finally calmed down somewhat because of Rikuya's sudden cursing him, looked around.
"I can pull people into Dreamspace," Rikuya explained. "That's my Quirk. Well… not exactly. I couldn't do it before. But now I can."
So that sudden feeling of falling was about coming here… Bakugo realized. "Pull people? I am here with my real body?"
Now that surprised Rikuya. Perhaps the rumors of this hotheaded moron having insane instincts were true.
"Anyway, here's the deal…" Rikuya began.
"No to everything," Bakugo said. "Send me back or… let's see what happens when I beat the crap out of you in this Dreamscape."
"Dreamspace…" Rikuya corrected. "If that's what you want, then alright. I will send you back."
Is this a trick? Bakugo narrowed his eyes, feeling disappointed. He had already been looking forward to a fight. "What do you want?"
"You," Rikuya answered. "I didn't lie when I said I couldn't pull people in the Dreamspace with their real bodies before. Only recently, my Quirk was… awakened. The message you heard was what I heard, too. The Fate is changing… The Radiants it spoke of are mostly… gone. Now, she needs someone to step up…"
"She?!" Bakugo asked.
Rikuya nodded. "… Singularity."
Bakugo was an inch away from having a headache. Radiants?! Singularity?! What did he care about FATE?!!
"Send me…" he said.
"Power," Rikuya intervened. "If you agree to become a Radiant, then Singularity will awaken your Quirk… just like she has awakened mine."
Quirk Awakening… The two words made Bakugo suddenly thoughtless.
"You are strong," Rikuya said. "But… the world is changing fast. Don't tell me you haven't realized it. The Nomus. Sudden increase in Villain activities. You have been in the thick of it, haven't you? Don't you feel… that you aren't growing up as fast as the world around you?! … that you aren't leveling up as fast as your… friends?!"
"Oi!" Bakugo lunged and grabbed Rikuya by the collar.
"I… am… a… Radiant!" the Dream Walker said, the blue glow in his eyes intensifying. "Not because I understand the meaning behind this word more than you, but because I understand the need for it.
"Katsuki Bakugo… you have all the qualities to improve yourself. But can you improve enough in time?! Even right now… Villains are wreaking havoc, killing people, changing fates… for the worse! I am giving you a chance to do more… to step on a grander stage. Come with me and see for yourself!
"And if you think I am spouting nonsense, then you will never see my face or hear the word Radiant again. You can even keep the Awakened Quirk… Not that it can be reversed…"
Bakugo ground his teeth, staring deep into Rikuya's eyes, his grip tightening on the collars.
Then, suddenly, he let it go, taking a step back. "… Alright," he said, grinning. "If I find that you are lying… then…"
Bakugo raised his hands and let out sparks from the palms of his hands. However, before he could finish his words, his entire body lit up with a blue radiance…
… his entire body burning up, beginning the Quirk Awakening!
