The two-hour-long Battle Royale had seemed long for a Sports Festival, especially with so many students involved.
Yet, these two hours had gone by in the blink of an eye, leaving behind a blurry image in all hearts.

The most unexpected thing was that almost the entire audience had picked their favorite students involuntarily, believing in that particular student to make it to the very end.
Whenever such a student's panel had shown up, taking the central stage on the large screen, his or her followers would go wild, celebrating the momentary limelight with loud cheers.
Then, these followers had seen their favorite students… getting kicked out of the tournament as well.

It was like they had lost all interest in the tournament right there and then.
But what kept their eyes planted dead on the screen, not so surprisingly, were the same students who had kicked out their favorites.
Whenever these students would show up in the central area of the screens, these members of the audience would mourn the loss of their favorite characters with boos as loud as their previous cheers.

Every student had gained their equal share of cheers and boos in the tournament so far.
Of course, the students of Class 2-A and 2-B had surpassed the General Education and Support Course students in that regard.
From the Support Course, only Mei Hatsume had managed to rile up the crowd with her out-of-the-box equipment and her charming personality.
She had just been gaining even more popularity when Tokoyami had punched her out of the Battle Royale X, earning him a massive crowd of haters.

The likes of Uraraka, Shoji, Jiro, Mina, Toru, Kirishima, and others had forced the people to root for them to the very end as well.
Even among them, Uraraka and Toru had stood out the most, because of their resilience.
Toru had casually knocked out three General Education students while making a beeline toward the central region of the city. Uraraka had gone much farther, taking on at least half a dozen Support Course students by herself.
Both girls had shown exemplary close combat skills, attracting nothing but praise and cheers till the very end.
However, this was something where, unexpectedly, the students of Class 2-B had done much better.

The Battle Royale had promised nothing but a show of one's strength and will to survive to the very end.
Going against it, in the very opposite direction, Class 2-B students had teamed up, helping each other out.
At first, people had scoffed at that, even Pros shaking their heads at their decision.
But, as time had gone by, the emotions, enthusiasm, and actions displayed by Class 2-B students had surpassed the audience's imagination, changing their views.

Kinoko Komori and Pony Tsunotori had all but defeated Bakugo, the winner of last year's Sports Festival, depending upon nothing but their well-executed strategy.
The only reason Bakugo survived getting choked by Komori's mushrooms was that he was a maniac, going as far as to use an explosion upon himself, letting the fire burn the mushrooms in his throat.
The girls had never stood a chance when he had already gone that far to stay in the game.
But the greatest reason behind the audience's eerie attachment to Class 2-B's students was not their teaming up, per se.
Mostly, and no one would dare to admit it, it was… pity.

Starting with Hiryu Rin, and then the trio of Juzo Honenuki, Reiko Yanagi, and Shihai Kuroiro — it was Luke who had turned most of Class 2-B students into martyrs.
Things went so far that the same people who had gone wild seeing Luke on the large screens when the tournament had begun… went utterly silent whenever he reappeared, taking the central area.
And that happened a lot!
Most of the audience, especially the younger generation, and even UA's students, just couldn't believe that this was the same Luke of Class 2-A, the student who was publicly known to be easygoing, friendly, and nonchalantly funny.
At some point, after butchering Togaru Kamakiri, Ibara Shiozaki, and Sen Kaibara, people had begun feeling like they weren't even looking at a UA student, promised to become a Pro, anymore.
Because leaving behind pools and trails of blood could only be the work of a Villain!

But even then, even as Luke had hopped from one student to another, snapping bones and cutting flesh, some had remained excited.
That excitement had only one reason behind its persistence, despite his villainous acts.
Raven — Luke's Quirk with Quirks of its own!
Just how many Quirks did he have?
How many Quirks would he use in the Battle Royale?
What were the strengths and weaknesses of Raven, and what were its limitations?
Just who didn't want to know more about Raven, especially after what he had done at the Training Camp had leaked out?
But forget about seeing the wonders of Raven, the audience couldn't even get to see Nyx more than two times.
That, too, only when Luke used her to heal his wounds — an ordinary Quirk that no one cared about anymore, adding onto their disappointment.
And that was the case for everyone, including the Villains keeping an eye on him!

However, despite the lackluster performance by Luke, somewhere in their hearts, people knew that what Luke had done in the Battle Royale was no less wondrous than his using Raven to conquer the battlefield.
It was just…
Could Luke continue not using Raven when he had already reached the endgame?
And with that question, the timer finally hit another 0.
With that, the laser boundaries jumped by a hundred meters again, creating a square of reddish hell within the circular region at the center of the city.
With that…
… the finale began — with a massive BOOM!
