Chapter 121 - The Return of Albrecht Nuclear Systems

An even bigger energy crisis has gripped Germany because the Lignite reserves are dwindling, NATO sanctions mean that Russian natural gas is still off the table, and you can no longer afford French power prices. Well, frankly Chancellor, I don't see any upside in me returning, and gambling even more of my already diminished personal fortunes in the German energy market," said Friedrich, trying hard not to let his fury show.

"Please Herr Albrecht. The Fatherland needs you," said Liesel, tears in her eyes.

Friedrich however, just glared at her.

"Whatever lingering love I had for the Fatherland is buried in those lead tombs that were once my nuclear power plants. No, Chancellor. The Germany that I once served is dead, and it isn't coming back," he said flatly.

"Would you rather see the country tear itself apart than help?" asked Liesel incredulously, the tears vanishing from her eyes.
