As their plane continued its flight above the clouds, special variants roamed the mansion below, with many evolved variants swarming it. Lyra managed to catch a glimpse of them before the plane flew too far out of her range.
"We need to come up with a way to fight back," Adam explained, "The humans may not be able to handle the special variants."
Johan felt the pressure. "Only Vlad and I truly have a chance against that many," he admitted. "If that's just a small glimpse of their armies, we wouldn't be able to protect the civilization."
Lyra analyzed the outcome of facing the special variants. "There's little to no chance of winning," she stated. "We need to get the humans involved to have a better chance, either by gearing them up or having them provide cover from the back. Their lives will be at high risk." All three of them struggled to conceive a way to defeat Serbas and his armies.
Azrael's Startling Evolution
"Human evolution," Azrael suddenly spoke, startling everyone. Azrael's demeanor and speech had matured. He walked towards them with an unexpected eloquence.
"Human evolution is key to fighting them. Just like the zombies evolve through mana, humans might be able to evolve as well. Both humans and zombies are infected with the virus; it's inside their system. So technically, humans can evolve as well."
"Azrael, you've matured and don't speak like your age!" Adam exclaimed. "Are you really the same person?"
"Dad, I'm still Azrael," he replied. "However, I'm receiving extra knowledge which alters my brain chemistry. While I was in stasis with mana flowing, I was inside my own body for years. I learned through this knowledge about the virus and even mana, the evolution, and my newfound powers. There are two ways to make humans evolve: by blood or mana-induced."
He continued, "Vlad's blood would be easy for evolution, but they would, in return, become vampires. Induced mana, like Dad's mana armor, can cause evolution. It has a 60% success rate or they die due to mana poisoning. It depends on their will to live." Azrael then added, "I'm currently carrying Mom and Dad's blood, with a mana core from my own evolution. I want Vlad's blood to make me more powerful."
"What about my blood?" Johan asked.
"You carry Vlad's blood; however, you are still second generation. It won't be as powerful as first generation," Azrael explained. "If we are going to face the demon itself, send me to the front line. I want a taste of his blood as well. I can decipher his blood and use his powers against him." Azrael licked his lips.
"If he dies, wouldn't you die as well?" Adam asked.
"No, the blood I receive is similar to your powers, Dad. You carry multiple artifacts that sync with your body. I possess powers by drinking blood. With Mom's special ability of accessing, controlling, and replicating knowledge, I can replicate each of the demon's powers and even unseal yours. Just so you know, Mom and Dad, I have accessed your memories. Both of you should really just have sex already," Azrael stated honestly.
Everyone was stunned by Azrael's newfound ability and blunt knowledge. "Son, please filter your words," Lyra said, embarrassed.
Johan instantly freaked out. "Don't you dare taste my blood!" Azrael jumped at Johan, startling him, and he quickly moved away.
"That's for the bloodlust you did towards me," Azrael said jokingly, referring to their past encounter.
