Chapter 5 - First day of School, and i am already done with it.

The Children's reactions to me were pretty varied. Some showed excitement at the mention of me gaining my quirk, some looked jealous that I received mine first, a majority showed a mix of curiosity and heavy judgment, which only got worse when the teacher mentioned me not going to be able to speak with them.

Few yelled things like, 'what does her quirk do?', or 'if she can't speak does that mean she doesn't have to participate in lessons.'. I merely tilt my head at the questions, and reactions. I was really curious on how the teacher was going to answer them, her answer would probably determine my opinion of her.

The teacher to her credit, calmed the other children down before answering the questions she heard.

"Kara here will be participating in all the lessons, from what her parents told me, she has already been taught Sign langauge. Which is how people who can't use their voice well, or physically can't speak talk. As for her quirk, as far as the doctors told her and her parents it let her produce a liquid with unique properties." she speaks calmly before adding in a stern tone. "I am also fluent in sign langauge, so if you think you can get away with bullying or making fun of her cause you believe she can't tell on you. Think again. But I am sure none of you will do that right?" I she asks the kids. And the kids Chorus back a reluctant 'yes ma'am'.

After this impromptu speech from my teacher, and my opinion of her going up a few notches we were allowed to play until lunch. I decided I didn't feel like dealing with curious, and possibly annoyingly stubborn children so I go sit away from them and quietly practice drawing. While I wasn't horrible, it wasnt any kind of masterpiece.

After 30 minutes of uninterrupted drawing practice, one of the more particularally annoying, and almost egotistical kids come up to me. The guy wasnt bakugo level of ego, and pride, but definitely thought themselves above the others. The reason? Well simply because untill now he was the only kid in class to get their quirk, of course logically that was because his birthday was in early September, and most kids in my class had birthdays after December.

Anyway I stared at the kid, feeling a bit petty and spiteful I intentionally stare him dead in the eyes. But alas he wasn't scared off and spoke up.

"I dont care that you have a quirk now, or that you can't talk. You are still just another kid that should listen to me. So go be weird someplace else." He says like it had already been decided.

I merely stare at this arrogant kid and think

'Damn this kid must have some wonderful parents to have rasied such a kid that has a God complex and completely oblivious.'

I stare at him for a while longer, now not knowing what to do. I couldnt get up, mostly because I didn't want to listen to this brat. But I also couldn't give him a verbal beat down to tone down the ego. I was stuck, so I did the petty thing, and just stared at him till he got uncomfortable and left, or he tried to physically harm me, in which I could defend myself.

The kid stands there with his arms crossed, then speaks annoyed.

"Well? Are you going to do what i said?"

I consider what to do, this kid was stubborn. And clearly didn't understand what my stare meant. It was almost impressive that he didnt get unnerved or annoyed enough to just walk away. I quickly decide to write on a peice of paper.

'I am not going to listen to you, I dont have to do anything. I would prefer you go play King somewhere out of sight.' I write down and lift the page for him to read.

The kid silent stares at the page, then scoffs.

"You deaf as well as mute? I said move out of the way, and go be your weird self someplace else."

I could feel my non-existent eye twich at this brats audacity. Who the hell did he think he was, the reincarnation of all deities? I stare at him for a few more seconds before just just going back to drawing as I didn't know what else to do.

It was the kids turn to be annoyed.

"Hey! Don't ignore me you freak!" The foolish kid yells before grabbing my shoulder.

His yell caused the teacher to come over and immediately ask. "What is going on here?" In a stern tone.

The kid immediately let's go and complains.

"She isnt listening to me at all! I told her to move and she won't."

The teacher shakes her head, then speaks in a stern but calm voice.

"She doesn't have to move at all if she doesn't want to. And did you ask nicely? If you did, she might move. Also we don't call others freaks."

The kid scowls lightly, but then responds with a completely fake 'okay' and apology before walking off.

The teacher then gently pats me on the shoulder and asks in a gentle tone.

"Are you okay?"

I look at her tilt my head, then nod. Following that i use sign langauge.

'Just fine, he was simply being annoying and stubborn.'

The teacher nods, but adds.

"Thats good, but let's not call others annoying for such simple matters okay?" She says kindly.

Not particularly wanting to be difficult i nod in acknowledgement. And watch as the teacher walks away. The day just kinda progressed like that. Me being alone, kid trys to test if the rules are strict. Gets reprimanded, and the day continues. The lessons where as boring as you'd expect for kids at this age level. I was obviously far past them in math. Genuinely the only thing I gained was time to improve my writing skills, or better said my penmanship.
