Whoosh whoosh whoosh...
A dozen chunks of disgusting-looking, brownish mucus flew by at high speed, creating a piercing whistling sound. Cross had no desire to get his weapon dirty.
"Surtur!"
"Understood, Master!"
Instead of dodging, Cross commanded Surtur, who had become his fiery crown, to open its mouth. It let out a great whoosh of scorching flames, like a flamethrower, that surged forward.
Boom, boom, boom, boom...
In an instant, the column of fiercely burning fire engulfed all the chunks of mucus, resulting in a series of violent explosions. It seemed the chunks of mucus were flammable and exploded when they came into contact with fire. A massive, hot airwave, like a fierce wind, mixed with a large amount of fire, spread out in all directions.
Even Doflamingo had to stop and retreat to avoid being caught in the blast. Cross, on the other hand, relied on his shadow form and was completely unharmed by the flames, charging directly into the raging inferno.
A fierce wind moved through the scorching sea of fire, splitting it to create a long path that led to a terrified Trebol.
"Oh, damn it!" At this moment, Trebol felt a terrifying, landslide-like pressure surge towards him, and the hair on his body stood on end. His spine went cold. He quickly took a defensive stance, only to find Cross had already arrived in front of him, enveloped in a fierce, hot wind.
"G!"
Suddenly, a man in a thick, beige coat and a blue hat with rabbit ears appeared, leaping over Trebol's head like the wind. He positioned his hands in the shape of the letter 'G' and launched a fierce attack at Cross.
With no other choice, Cross had to withdraw his sword and defend, blocking all the attacks. The fiery katana clashed with the man's fists, making a series of dense bangs that created multiple airwaves.
"Lao G, get out of the way!"
Right after, another man in a dark red and pink striped coat rushed over. He wore a two-horned hat and a pair of sunglasses on his face, with long, brownish-yellow hair. He reached into his coat and pulled out a large, red cloth that fluttered in the wind.
In the next second, the cloth rolled into a stick and, under some force, became a metal-sheened iron staff. He swung it fiercely at Cross like a baseball bat.
Clang—
The flame-covered Shusui met the man's red iron staff, creating a sharp clang of metal.
"Yo~ Diamante, long time no see!" Cross turned his head. He recognized the man with the staff and greeted him.
"We know each other?!" Diamante was slightly stunned. He looked at the pitch-black demon engulfed in flames and couldn't recall ever meeting him.
Whoosh—
Suddenly, a large shadow covered Cross. He looked up and saw a tall, muscular man suspended in the air above him. The man wore a grassy green fur coat and a black hat. He had long, curly blond hair and looked like a weightless human balloon.
Cross recognized him as Machvise, one of the Donquixote Family executives.
"Hold him down, Ten-Ton Vise!!!" Machvise grinned menacingly. His body suddenly descended, crashing down heavily like a giant lump of iron.
Rumble—
The entire street shook, creating a visible airwave.
"Nani?!"
"You've gotta be kidding me!"
"That's ten tons of weight!"
"He's holding it with one hand?!"
"..."
The members of the Donquixote Family all wore shocked expressions, barely able to believe the scene before them.
Cross had extended his left hand upward and was holding Machvise's body. The ground beneath his feet had caved in, forming a large, cracked circular crater.
"You bastard, let me go!" Machvise's expression was one of panic. He struggled continuously in the air but found he couldn't break free from the demon's iron-vice-like grip. He could only remain suspended in the air.
"I don't know who you are, but I can't stand by and do nothing when a family member is being harmed!" The speaker was a handsome man in a black fedora and sunglasses, wearing a greenish-brown winter coat. He carried a bandolier of bullets and stood a few meters away, holding a flintlock rifle aimed directly at Cross's head.
"Shoot him! Blow his head off, Señor!" Machvise yelled urgently.
"You don't have to tell me!" Señor Pink's expression was cold. He pulled the trigger of his rifle, and a spark flew from the hammer.
Bang—
A flash of fire erupted from the muzzle, and with a gunshot, a large lead bullet shot out of the barrel and flew toward Cross's head at a speed almost invisible to the naked eye.
However, in the next moment, one of the huge bat wings on Cross's back transformed into a demonic claw and, with lightning speed, caught the lead bullet in mid-air.
"Out of everyone here, I admire you the most, Señor Pink!" Cross grinned. The demonic hand on his back released the bullet, letting it fall to the ground, and then transformed back into a large bat wing.
"I'm not looking for an enemy's admiration!" Señor Pink's expression remained unchanged as he replied coldly.
Cross didn't care. He immediately turned and threw Machvise backward toward the silently approaching Doflamingo.
"Young Master!" Machvise screamed in terror in the air as his body flew out like a cannonball.
Doflamingo quickly flew past Machvise, his left hand moving back and forth to create several fine strings. He accurately wrapped them around Machvise's body, saving him.
"Hahahaha~ Come at me, all of you!" Cross laughed maniacally. His aura soared, creating a powerful wind pressure out of thin air. He gripped Shusui, the famous blade covered in flames, and mercilessly slashed towards Trebol across the street.
"One Sword Style: Blade of Divine Fire!!!"
RUMBLE!!!
A massive, fiery slash erupted, pulverizing the ground in front of him with its high temperature and terrifying force.
"Damn it, I have to block this!" Trebol's expression was contorted as he roared. "Beta Beta Chain!!!"
"Beta Betton Meteora!!!"
He fired a brownish, slippery mucus that formed a globular chain, which stuck to a large rock. Using the momentum from swinging the chain, he ripped the entire rock from the ground and launched it forward like a meteor.
"Half-Moon Glaive!!!"
"Yotsu no Kamae: Eye-Jab Strain!!!"
"..."
Several other members of the Donquixote Family attacked simultaneously with everything from Devil Fruit abilities to swordsmanship and martial arts.
Rumble—
A deafening roar immediately erupted. A fierce airwave mixed with flames swept out in all directions, affecting nearly half the town. It leveled over a dozen large and small houses like a tsunami, and the entire mountaintop of Minion Island shook violently.
