Chapter 579 - KWM Chapter 576 Commission

Leyton watched Bugs Bunny skillfully reset his bones, and the corner of his mouth, which had just settled, twitched twice again.

He looked at Bugs Bunny, who was diligently checking his equipment, sighed speechlessly, and a few specks of starlight spread from his hand, forming a wide, misty, shimmering palm that easily distorted Bugs Bunny in front of him.

Bugs Bunny, caught in mid-air, distorted his body twice, and realizing he couldn't break free from the starlight-formed hand, he finally turned his gaze to Leyton:

"Boss, wait a moment. I need to check if there's anything wrong with this mechanical battlesuit. If it malfunctions, it will explode."

Leyton briefly scanned the mechanical devices Bugs Bunny was wearing and spoke calmly:

"Don't worry, it won't explode. Even if it does, with your current body strength, nothing will happen to you. At most, you'll feel pain for a while and lose some fur."

"It's not just 'some'! Last time it blew my butt bald!" Bugs Bunny retorted strenuously.

Leyton shrugged, turned and walked towards the house behind him, while controlling the starlight-formed hand to twist Bugs Bunny along beside him.

As he walked, he asked curiously, "Were you tricked by those two cats into being their invention test subject?"

Bugs Bunny shook his head and said, "No, they're building a Robot for me."

As soon as he finished speaking, Crow Anu, with shiny black feathers, flew out of the room and said with contempt:

"No, the foolish rabbit was tricked by those two cats."

"Hmph! You stinky bird, you're getting more and more impolite."

Bugs Bunny glared angrily at Crow Anu, who was circling in mid-air, as if he would immediately jump up and bite the other party down if it dared to lower its altitude.

Leyton reached out and patted Bugs Bunny's head, releasing him from mid-air, and then said:

"Stop messing around. First, each of you report on how well you've completed the tasks I gave you earlier."

"I have already advanced to Sequence 6," Crow Anu answered first.

In Backlund, at the Bravehearts Bar, Klein, in the guise of Sherlock Moriarty, appeared in the bar.

Holding a glass of Southville beer, he followed the bartender's guidance to the No. 3 billiard room behind the bar and knocked on the door with a bent finger.

Thump Thump—

Amidst the rhythmic knocking, the door creaked open, and Ian, with crimson eyes, peered out from behind the door. When he saw Klein in the form of Sherlock Moriarty, a smile immediately appeared on his face:

"Sir, please come in."

Inside the room, Maric, with somewhat messy hair, sat on the billiard table, while Sharron, dressed in a black, intricate court gown, appeared on the other side of the table. She sat quietly on a high stool.

"Good evening, both of you," Klein greeted them proactively.

In the manor outside Paz River Valley in the Southern Continent, Leyton sat at the desk in the study on the second floor, flipping through Bugs Bunny's observation notes on the Southern Continent.

Amidst the rustling of turning pages, Bugs Bunny's head sank lower and lower, wishing he could shrink his entire head into his shell like a turtle.

After a while, Leyton sighed and put Bugs Bunny's observation notes aside, then reached out and pulled him onto his lap, kneading his soft, large ears while saying:

"You only focused on the taste of fruits from different regions and the richness of local species?"

"I also studied how to improve them," Bugs Bunny said, raising a hand. He paused, observing Leyton's expression, then added, "After all, I'm just a rabbit. Writing is already very difficult."

Leyton squeezed his ears twice vigorously, then turned his gaze to Crow Anu, who was standing on the bookshelf, and said:

"How about you?"

Crow Anu flapped his wings in front of his chest and said in a high-pitched, serious voice:

"My undead and Natural Spirits have found quite a few people secretly believing in that 'Mother Tree'. According to Mr. Pulak's instructions, we only recorded them and did nothing extra."

"Besides the Rose School of Thought, there are also many people from the Feysac Empire here. The Church of the God of Combat is trying to contact Mr. Pulak and Mesagnes."

"Also, Mr. Pulak said that the Feysac Military seems to have an intention to ally with Intis."

Leyton nodded slightly towards Crow Anu and said, "Well done."

After tossing Bugs Bunny onto the desk in front of him, signaling that they were free to move, Leyton got up and walked to the study window, looking at the scattered lights outside and sighing:

"The major Churches and royal militaries seem to have subconsciously ignored the New Church led by Sasrir. Are they planning to observe the True Creator's state first?"

"Excluding 'Storm' and 'Sun', and the ambiguously positioned 'Knowledge', the other four would not mind the True Creator, free from madness, returning to the Northern and Southern continents."

With a long sigh, Leyton's eyes flashed, becoming extremely deep, like the sea before a storm, clearly losing focus, his eyes a vast blank.

In this state, his gaze pierced through the physical dimension, seeing the long river representing fate. With the connection between himself and the Paz River Valley area, he cast his gaze into the future, attempting to discern the direction of fate at a certain moment.

A Red Light filled with rust and fresh blood gradually appeared in his eyes. Beneath the light of iron and blood, he saw a gray-white Church of the Bones, a blurry figure of a tall Angel with layered wings on his back, and a battlefield of guns and gunpowder.

A moment later, his eyes cleared again, and the scattered lights outside the window reappeared in his vision.

"Accompanied by the clash of iron and blood, the victors win everything, the losers..."

"Heh, unlucky Medici, used by Adam again, trying to incite war through his special Beyonder rank..."

"Medici and their trinity of evil spirits couldn't have such an extent of influence. Has he, who has been to Bansy Harbor, unknowingly been controlled by the city of Calamity?"

As he muttered to himself, a dense Gray Fog suddenly surged from his eyes, and crimson light rose and churned like a tide.

Klein's voice then echoed in his ears:

"Do you have time to accept a commission? The location is Backlund, the time is two days from now, and it's related to the Rose School of Thought."

Leyton raised an eyebrow, recalling the information Crow Anu had reported to him earlier, and chuckled softly:

"Related to the Rose School of Thought? No wonder they haven't been as active here in the Southern Continent recently."

"What exactly is it? If there's a good reward, I don't mind returning to Backlund for a trip."

He's returning to the Southern Continent so quickly? Above the Gray Fog, Klein sighed inwardly, organized his words, and began to introduce the commission he was talking about:

"This commission comes from Miss Sharron. In two days, a ship from the Southern Continent will arrive at Pritz Harbor, carrying wealth that the Loen Military previously plundered from the Southern Continent. Due to the changing situation in the Southern Continent, Loen transported that wealth back first."

"Among them is a mummy, it is Tutanssess II, the nineteenth king of the ancient highland kingdom."

"This mummy seems to hold very significant meaning for Beyonders of the Mutant Pathway. Miss Sharron and her companions want to seize this mummy, and members of the Rose School of Thought, also of the Mutant Pathway, similarly want to reclaim this mummy."

"The identity of Dwayne Dantes just happens to have some business dealings. I will leave Backlund tomorrow and board the airship bound for West Balam."

Leyton narrowed his eyes and said calmly, "I understand."

After a second's pause, he continued:

"Remember to find time to go to Calderon city and quickly obtain the true soul body of the Spirit World Plunderer. If you drag it on too long, it will be too late."

"What will be too late?" Klein asked, puzzled.

Leyton chuckled mysteriously:

"You'll know when the time comes."

"Tell Miss Sharron for me that I accept this commission. As for the reward, after she advances to Puppet, she needs to help me clear out Rose School of Thought members outside the Southern Continent."

I'm the Seer, so why does this guy act more like a charlatan than me?

Is Miss Sharron seizing that mummy for her advancement to Puppet? So the mummy is part of the material? Or part of the ritual? It should be the latter. A mummy that has lost its characteristics cannot be the main ingredient, and supplementary ingredients are actually not that important, not enough to make Miss Sharron and the Rose School of Thought members risk seizing it.

Collecting his thoughts, Klein took a deep breath, resisted the urge to ask further questions, and responded in a deep voice:

"I will inform Miss Sharron, and she should be able to give you a reply soon."

As his voice faded, he directly cut off their connection and quickly left the Gray Fog. He rummaged through the room for paper currency and began writing a letter to Sharron.

Summoning Miss Messenger by playing the harmonica, Klein handed the freshly written letter to her and asked:

"Can you still pinpoint Miss Sharron's location? The lady who summoned you to send a letter for me before."

Reinette Tinekerr, carrying four golden-haired, red-eyed heads, had one head bite the letter, another bite a gold coin, and the third head spoke:

"Yes."

Klein nodded and, after watching Miss Messenger leave, he turned to the storage cabinet in the room and brewed himself a cup of black tea.

He had just brought the brewed tea to his lips for a sip when his spiritual perception was triggered, and he saw Miss Messenger, dressed in an intricate court gown and carrying four golden-haired, red-eyed heads, appear in the room at the bay window, holding a letter.

"So fast!" Klein exclaimed in surprise.

While exclaiming, he put down the black tea in his hand, and as he took a gold coin from his pocket to hand over, he reached out to take the letter.

He shook the letter open in front of him. The letter had a large blank space, with only one word in elegant Loen script in the center: "Yes!"
