Klein's thought process was very simple. The divine kingdom of the Evernight Goddess also belonged to a concealed world, which could sever the gazes of Amon and the True Creator, ensuring his subsequent actions would not be interfered with and no information would be leaked.
After grafting that ancient palace above the gray fog, which resembled a giant's residence, into the Divine Kingdom of darkness, the figures of the Evernight Goddess and Roselle materialized in the hall one after the other, separated by less than a second.
Klein sat on the high-backed chair at the absolute head of the mottled long table. He nodded gently toward the Evernight Goddess and Roselle who had appeared in the palace hall, speaking in a fairly relaxed tone:
"Fortunately, we didn't step into the worst-case scenario."
Klein's tone carried a hint of deep exhaustion as he said:
"I briefly fooled Antigonus's spirit, separating It into a marionette and grafting a state of slumber onto It. Due to the death and the subsequent blows, the Celestial Worthy's will awakening within the Beyonder characteristics has been ground down considerably as well."
"This is thanks to the fact that the Celestial Worthy hasn't awakened to the point of being able to use a miracle to follow me in resurrecting together. But even so, His spirit remains very powerful and is continuously awakening."
Roselle nodded. Looking thoughtfully at Gehrman Sparrow, whom Klein had manifested and who still accommodated the authority and characteristics of the Door pathway, he let out a light laugh:
"From the moment you accommodated the Uniqueness, it was a layout targeted at Amon, and that Celestial Worthy of Heaven and Earth for Blessings awakening inside your body was the bargaining chip you used to force Amon to make a choice and back down?"
"A highly aggressive and highly risky plot, with every link interweaving with the next. At a glance, it clearly bears that fellow's handwriting. He even factored in the True Creator who grasps the Visionary pathway."
Klein smiled and nodded: "It was indeed highly risky, but he convinced me using destiny."
"The Uniqueness of the Wheel of Fortune is in His hands, and He seems to have reached some sort of cooperation with the Key of Light. Coupled with a portion of the destiny authority grasped by the Hermit, cheating the True Creator who has yet to reclaim the Omniscience authority on destiny is not surprising."
The Evernight Goddess's voice remained gentle, capable of making one feel peaceful from the bottom of their heart. Merely the voice alone made Klein feel that his spirit was a bit better.
"Yes." Klein nodded, bringing this topic to an end as he said:
"I need a quiet slumber to separate my spirit from Antigonus's in my dreams, separate the three converged Attendant of Mysteries characteristics, lower my own status and level, and suppress the Celestial Worthy's consciousness continuously awakening inside my body."
"No problem." The Evernight Goddess nodded gently, flicking a pitch-black, lightless drop of water from the golden bird-shaped ornament held in Her hand, which submerged into Klein's forehead.
The already dim ambient light grew a bit deeper, and a quiet, serene aura spread rapidly.
Klein only felt his eyelids become incomparably heavy, and every single Worm of Spirit on his body grew incomparably drowsy, eager to enter into an eternal slumber.
Klein did not resist this power. Relaxing his spirit, he entered the slumber created by the Evernight Goddess.
With the blessing of the Evernight Goddess, he could maintain clarity within his slumber, allowing him to interfere with reality while half-dreaming and half-awake to create marionettes and separate characteristics and spirits.
Roselle gazed at Klein, who had plunged into a slumber. Seeing that the bizarre, cold, and illusory mask with no facial features worn on his face gradually vanished, and the faint fog surrounding his body along with that strange, translucent hooded cloak also retracted into his body, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
Within the quiet hall, Roselle and the Evernight Goddess faced each other in silence. This was his first time meeting this compatriot from the ancient era, and it felt inexplicably awkward, especially when thinking about how his past actions had very likely all been seen by the other party.
...Damn it, if I had known a transmigrator senior existed, and a female one at that, I definitely wouldn't have been that arrogant back then. Thinking about it now, it's a total social death, damn it.
Lamenting a few times in his heart, Roselle pulled a smile, raised his hand to point toward the row of seats opposite them, and said casually:
"Sit down for a while. It will take some time for him to separate Antigonus's spirit and that portion of the awakened Celestial Worthy's consciousness from his body. In their current state, they are already a mentally stitched monster to a certain extent."
"Fortunately, this world's need for the Lord of the Mysteries is no longer that urgent. Before long, that Savant should be able to become the Demon of Knowledge, breaking open the seal left behind by that Celestial Worthy from the inside and causing the Western Continent to reappear in the world."
"However, with numerous Sefirot appearing in the world, this world will in all probability plunge into a new round of chaos. Heh... no wonder he wanted to clear out the seal on the Forsaken Land of the Gods first. This is preparing a suitable battlefield for everyone, controlling the chaos and strife within a certain range. No wonder the True Creator would cooperate with him as well."
The Evernight Goddess stood quietly on the spot, looking as though She fused into one with the surrounding night sky. Her voice echoed around with a sense of serenity:
"During this period while the barrier left behind by the Creator remains fairly solid, the power that the outer deities of the cosmos can infiltrate is limited. It is the best opportunity for Earth to birth Great Old Ones."
Roselle nodded in silence. After a brief wordlessness, to prevent their interaction from being too awkward, he randomly started a topic:
"Back then when you were dropped down by Sefirah Castle, you directly became a Demonic Wolf, becoming a High Sequence Beyonder?"
The Evernight Goddess's voice subsequently echoed within the silent hall:
"Yes, I inherited everything of a deceased Demonic Wolf. Relying on a certain type of protection from Sefirah Castle, I preserved my sense of self and directly became a high-level Demonic Wolf, but not a Demonic Wolf of the Seer pathway."
While nodding, Roselle voiced his own guess:
"An error occurred in Sefirah Castle's drop. Or, destiny at that time suffered interference, causing changes to happen to the deceased Demonic Wolf."
The Evernight Goddess's voice rang out without the slightest fluctuation:
"It could be the former, or it could be both. Just like you later on, you also avoided those three pathways occupied by the Celestial Worthy."
Roselle nodded gently. After agonizing for a moment, he still asked the question he cared about the most:
"Why was the Church of the Artisan the very first one I came into contact with back then, instead of your Church of Evernight?"
"After leaving Sefirah Castle, I never returned there. As a Sequence 0 of the Darkness pathway, I do not possess a sufficiently keen perception of Sefirah Castle to determine when a new person is dropped."
"Although my church nurtures Beyonders of the Seer pathway, you were in Intis, so the first you came into contact with was Zaratul's Secret Order. By the time I noticed you, you were already under the gaze of the Artisan."
"I did not wish to over-interfere with your destinies. Regardless of everything in the past, life still needs to continue. The truths and secrets of this world should be discovered by yourselves. This is also a part of growing up."
Speaking up to this point, the Evernight Goddess turned Her head to glance at Klein, who had plunged into a slumber, and continued to speak:
"Until the final time, I discovered the anomalous movement of that Attendant of Mysteries characteristic through concealment. Leveraging the then-already-mad Antigonus, I interfered with Sefirah Castle's drop, tossing that Attendant of Mysteries characteristic into the Forsaken Land of the Gods."
"Sigh~" Roselle let out a long breath and lamented aloud:
"If I could have met you or come into contact with you earlier, I might have known everything sooner."
"But it's fine now too. At least it can be considered turning the tide and surviving a desperate situation."
While the two were conversing, a somewhat transparent figure was outlined out of thin air at the front of the hall, gradually becoming clear and real.
His face was quite young, and his facial features were fairly decent. Yet, tufts of coarse, black, short hair resembling wolf fur grew upon his cheeks. His long hair was half-white, with half concealed and half obvious, giving off a contradictory feeling of being both elderly and youthful, both rational and mad.
His eyes were deep black, containing an unspeakable change of eras. He looked with some confusion at the several figures standing or sitting around the mottled long table, unable to recover his senses for a time, looking as though he were contemplating: Who am I, where am I, what am I going to do...
The gazes of Roselle and the Evernight Goddess lingered slightly on this figure. The former spoke up and lamented:
"This is stitching Antigonus's spirit into a Miracle Invoker characteristic and utilizing a miracle to resurrect It, leveraging this to separate and purify his own spirit?"
"These fancy Beyonder abilities are sometimes quite enviable."
While Roselle was lamenting, the marionette Gehrman Sparrow, who had plunged into slumber along with the true body, had already woken up. His gaze lingered slightly on Antigonus.
Silently and soundlessly, brilliant starlight manifested out of thin air, constructing an illusory door that enclosed Antigonus inside, sending It back to the Hornacis Mountains.
Only after doing all this did he turn his head to look at Roselle, saying with a smile:
"Do you want to be an Attendant of Mysteries? I can separate two characteristics to give to you, making you a King of Angels of this pathway directly."
Roselle curled his lip and said: "Heh... how about you come be a Prince of Abolition? Afterward, I can likewise give you the position of a King of Angels."
While he was speaking, another two figures manifested.
Wearing a black long trench coat, sporting a top hat of the same color, possessing a tough, tall, and thin build, and holding a silver mirror in his hand—this was an identity Klein had used when digesting the Miracle Invoker potion, the wandering magician, Merlin Hermes.
There was also Dwayne Dantes, who held a walking stick, wore a straight suit, kept himself meticulously groomed, and was middle-aged yet still quite handsome, with a mature and reserved temperament.
They were all identities Klein had used in the past, and now they became his special marionettes, sharing the extra Attendant of Mysteries characteristics on his behalf.
With the appearance of these two marionettes, Klein finally woke up from his slumber.
He nodded gently toward the direction of Roselle and the Evernight Goddess, indicating that he was already fine and had successfully resolved the trouble on his body.
