CHAPTER 35
CHLOE'S POV
That was wild!!!
When I dated Nolan, nothing like that has ever happened. No intense make out sessions, just one or two kisses.
Keith and I aren't even dating and he makes me feel this good.
I'm beginning to get scared.
What if I get too attached and he just leaves me for another girl.
"You okay?", Keith asked because of my sudden silence. We're cuddling on my bed and I'm laying on his bare chest.
"Yeah, I'm good"
"You sure?"
"Yeah, I'm just thinking about some stuff"
"Oh, do you mind sharing?"
"Telling someone won't make it better"
"Ok, well you should get ready cos we're going to the cinema in about 20 minutes"
"Ok", I got up and went into my walk-in closet to pick an outfit.
I chose black skinny jeans and a white tank top. I spotted Keith's black leather jacket that he gave me when he, Jess Matt and I went to the cinema. I put it on and came out of the closet.
"Wow! You look very cute. Is that my jacket?"
"Yes, it is. Do you want it back?"
"No, you can keep it. It looks better on you", he snaked his arms around my waist and pecked my forehead.
"You look good yourself", I complimented. He was wearing a white tee and black jean pants, also paired with a black leather jacket.
"We are dressed like couples. Did you read my mind?", he asked with a teasing smile.
"No, I just felt like I should wear it, you know. You're cologne is intoxicating"
"Well, you do have a think for vanilla scents. C'mon, let's go", he led me out of the house and his car was already parked in front of my house.
"After you", he opened the passenger door for me to get in.
"How kind of you", I giggled. He got in and drove off.

"Ahhhhh", I screamed and people shushed me. I hid my face in Keith's chest, while he just laughed.
"Make it stop", I whined.
We're in the cinema and the movie Keith chose was a horror movie. I haven't watched a horror movie since I was a kid.
They terrified me and this one, was no different.
"Don't worry, it's almost over", he patted my head.
And the movie ended, I hurriedly left the cinema, waiting for Keith beside his car.
"You are such a crybaby", Keith said when he came up to me.
"Why would you pick a horror movie?"
"Because I thought you would like it"
"Well, I don't like them, please pick another genre next time"
"Noted, peanut. Now, would you like to go to the park?"
" Yeah"
" Okay, hop in", he held the door open for me to get in.
He got in and drove us to the park.
Since it was already past 8, they weren't many people in the park so we sat down on the swing.
" I love coming here"
" Me too. It helps clear my head", I said staring at the sky. There wasn't that much stars but the moon was a little bit visible.
" Would you come to the basketball game on Friday?"
" Yeah"
I'm not sure if going would be a good idea since I already turned Nolan down but then again, we aren't even involved so it's not bad, right?
" That's nice. I want you to wear my jersey and cheer me on"
" Why do you want me to do it?"
" Because I want you to"
" That doesn't answer the question"
" Well, my reason is stupid so why bother"
" Oh", was all I said and we fell into a comfortable silence.
I was getting scared....
What if Keith eventually ask me out?
What do I say?
He already told me he's in love with me so he must be planning on asking me out...
God, help me.....
"You seem to be in your head all these days", his voice broke me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?"
"You space out a lot"
"I just have a lot of things going on"
"Mm", he hummed softly.
I looked at him and the way the dim light around illuminated his features....
His sharp jawline, trimmed brows, pink lips, disheveled jet-black hair.....
I'm doomed....
I teared my gaze of him and closed my eyes, taking in the night breeze.

"Good night, peanut", Keith leaned in to kiss me but I turned my face so it landed on my cheek.
"Good night", I went into the house and leaned against the door.
What am I really doing??
I can't keep living like this.....
Although I'm starting to fall in love with him, I can't date him.... Not after what happened with Nolan...
He might just be like Nolan - use me and sleep around with other girls.
I can't let that happen....
I'm gonna set boundaries - no kisses, no cuddles....
Just friendly hugs and conversations.....
And maybe, just maybe, after the project we could go our separate ways.
This plan might not be the best but it should work...
But I feel kinda hurt, by just thinking of it.
I picked myself up and went to the room to test on my dress and it was good but I wasn't in the mood for admiring it. I just slipped it off and wore my nightgown.
I slept off not long after thinking about what to do about my situation....
MONDAY
The shrill sound of my alarm clock woke me up and I had my bath, picked a simple outfit: big tee and skinny jeans. I didn't even bother to style my hair, I just let it down and applied a little bit of concealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes. I spotted one of the lipglosses Keith got me and I smiled. I picked it up and applied it on my lips before heading downstairs with my backpack.
I grabbed an apple and head out. I didn't bother to wait for Keith to pick me up. The fresh air was gonna help clear my head.
I walked to school with my earbuds on and I arrived in less than 20 minutes. I was still early though, so I decided to sit in the school art class. No one usually comes here when classes haven't begun so I have the class all to myself for about 45 minutes.

KEITH'S POV
I think Chloe's avoiding me. She didn't let me kiss her last night and now she's off to school without waiting for me to pick her up.
Did I mess up?
Everything was fine between us and now she's avoiding me. It doesn't make any sense.
I drove school, expecting to see her in our first class but she wasn't there.
Where could she be?
I didn't know where else to check cos she's not the type to have hideouts.
I tried calling but she wasn't picking up.
I gave up and went to the basketball court. Coach sent all the players a message for a brief meeting.
"What's up, snatcher?"
Fuck me
"What'd you want, Nolan"
" I just wanted to let you know that I'm gonna win Chloe back and there's nothing you can do about it"
" Oh, please! You don't know what you're saying. She hates you already"
" No, she doesn't. She just need time and very soon, we'll be a couple again"
" We'll see about that"
" I always knew you were jealous of me. You took away my position as captain and now you take away my girlfriend"
" Correction. Coach chose me as captain and Chloe chose me over you because you betrayed her"
" Would you shut the fuck up?", he punched my jaw and I retaliated with a punch to the gut.
" Are you trying to pick a fight with me?", I asked, giving him a blow to the nose.
People had already gathered and more were still coming then I spotted her, making her way through the crowd.
She froze when she saw me and we locked eyes.
God, help me...
