"Phoenix Force?" Clark murmured, a name he had never heard before. It was a humbling thought; despite his immense power, his reach was still limited to the solar system. There was so much he didn't know.

The Ancient One didn't hesitate. "The Phoenix Force comes from the primordial universe, born at the very beginning of all things. It is chaotic yet immortal, eternal yet impermanent, and a fundamental symbol of the universe itself."

"So it's a special kind of energy?" Clark asked. "Then why… why can it give birth to an intelligence and even form another personality within Jean's body?"

"Because the Phoenix Force is the embodiment of cosmic life and spiritual power. It symbolizes life and emotion," the Ancient One explained. "Even in its most primitive, invisible energy state, it has its own consciousness.

In one universe, the Phoenix came to Earth and met a magician named Vernon. His awe of the Phoenix led it to choose the form of the Firebird. After an unknown event, the Phoenix Power was shattered into countless fragments, scattered across various universes.

In some, it remains independent, a fiery bird traversing the cosmos. In others, it finds a host like Jean, granting them its immense power."

Clark clenched his fists. "Just a fragment has so much power?" The realization that he was about to face a mere fragment of this force was both unnerving and motivating. He took a deep breath. "I have one last question."

"Go on," the Ancient One said, calm and patient.

"If the Phoenix Force leaves, will it harm Jean?"

The Ancient One was visibly surprised. "You have a plan!" she exclaimed. She could see the future of others, but not Clark's, and his question indicated a course of action she hadn't foreseen. She quickly regained her composure.

"Jean and the Phoenix Force have been fused for too long. They are now like one being. If the Phoenix Force leaves, Jean will feel like she has lost a part of herself and will be weakened for a long time. However, her life will not be in danger."

"In that case, I understand." Clark nodded, preparing to leave. Time was short. The confrontation was inevitable, and he had to get to the laboratory as soon as possible.

"Superman!" the Ancient One called out, opening a portal. As he stepped through, she gave him a final warning. "To make the Phoenix leave Jean, you will need someone who can both defeat the Phoenix-controlled Jean and who is more receptive to the Phoenix Force.

However, even with a superhuman will, it is not easy to fight the chaotic and complex emotions within the Phoenix. Remember that."

Clark nodded wordlessly and left. In that instant, the Ancient One vanished, and time resumed its flow.

Emma Frost, who had been opening the door, suddenly found Clark standing in the corridor behind her. Before she could react, he spoke. "Emma, stay here and protect the Professor. I'm trusting the future of mutants to you, but there are more important things to deal with now."

"All right!" she replied, taken aback.

After his conversation with the Ancient One, Clark had a plan. He headed for the front gate but was stopped by two men: Agents Coulson and Nick Fury.

"Hello, Superman, nice to meet you," Coulson began.

Clark's expression was calm. "First time meeting? I don't think so. This isn't the first time we've met, not for you or me."

"What?" Nick Fury's shock was momentary. He quickly recovered. "You've been aware of our existence for a long time?"

"If you could sit in the US and hear what the people in the capital of a major Eastern country were having for breakfast, then you would also be forced to know many secrets," Clark replied simply. "I generally don't like to eavesdrop, but unfortunately, you're too close to me and you make too much noise."

Clark had never been truly ignorant. He paid attention to matters concerning him. His previous tolerance was just that—tolerance. But with Nick Fury coming to him directly, there was no need for games.

"So… you…"

"I know that my uncle Richard's disappearance was your doing," Clark said, silencing Fury. Any hope of establishing a good rapport with Superman was gone before it even began. Fury couldn't fathom how Superman could feel anything but animosity, knowing they had been responsible for his uncle's disappearance.

"And yes, I really don't have good feelings toward you." Clark's voice cut through Fury's thoughts. The seasoned spymaster felt an instinctive fear toward this Kryptonian. He knew his face hadn't betrayed his thoughts, so how could Clark know?

"You can control your expression, but you can't control your blood flow, hormone secretions, and a series of other micro-reactions," Clark explained, a simple but terrifying truth. Fury's hand instinctively clutched the pager he used to contact Captain Marvel.

In his mind, Clark was now a greater threat than anything else. He was more terrifying than even Charles's psychic abilities because he could read people with nothing more than his own eyes, no mystical power required.

"Put away your pager that can transmit signals across the universe. I know where my uncle is and how to bring him back. I only left him alone because I was waiting for you to contact me," Clark said, the words finally calming Fury's trembling. "If you have any questions, just ask."

"What do you want to know?" Fury asked.
