Clark's battle with the Phoenix shocked the world.

The fight in France had been devastating; the Phoenix's fiery attack on Clark had turned the iconic Eiffel Tower to dust. It was a stark reminder of how fragile human civilization was in the face of such immense power. And France and Britain were only the beginning.

As Clark had told Nick Fury, his plan was to lead the Phoenix into space. But once the real battle began, he realized the Phoenix's attacks were too violent and chaotic, each strike capable of causing catastrophic damage.

Clark was forced to constantly rescue civilians, which left him with no time to move the fight away from populated areas. The only option was to move from one city to the next just before it was completely destroyed. While this caused significant damage across the globe, at least no single city was completely razed.

As their brawl affected nearly all of Europe, the Phoenix landed a powerful punch that sent Clark flying. "That country is..." Clark, who had been constantly aware of his surroundings, saw that their battle was about to reach a great Eastern nation. "No, the population density is too high. I can't save them all..."

It was a testament to Superman's character that, even in this dire situation, he wasn't worried about his own safety but about the ordinary people who couldn't help themselves.

In 2006, this Eastern nation had the largest population in the world, and its population density was immense. While he could handle a regular disaster, his enemy was the Phoenix, and he knew he simply couldn't save so many people from her.

Just then, Clark's super hearing picked up a voice from the nation's capital. "Superman, can you fly to the new province? We can help you."

Superman recognized the voice—it belonged to a high-ranking military official. He also knew where this "new province" was: the largest province in the country, but with the smallest population density. Clark immediately understood their plan. He turned and flew towards the province without hesitation.

Meanwhile, at a secret military base near the capital, the senior official who had spoken to Superman turned to a thin man beside him. "Director Xian Zheng, what is your plan?"

"Sir, five nuclear bombs, each with a yield of 250 megatons, are ready," the man replied. "But are we sure about this? Humans haven't used nuclear bombs in an attack for decades. The last time was in 1962. Such an action could alarm other countries."

The military chief's response was firm. "We can't hesitate now! We once told Superman that our soldiers and police could protect our country. But now, we face an enemy we can't defeat. Even if we have to rely on Superman, we can't do nothing!"

"Understood!" Director Xian Zheng had no more objections.

On the other side of the world, Clark arrived in the new province. He used his super vision to scan the vast, sparsely populated area and felt a wave of relief. There was no one around. If there had been, Clark would have rather taken a few more hits from the Phoenix and been injured himself than agree to this plan and risk innocent lives.

"Where do you think you're going?" the Phoenix appeared next to him in a flash of fire. Clark immediately spun around, his fist colliding with her attack. The powerful impact, accompanied by raging flames, turned the sky a brilliant gold.

"I just... wanted to show you humanity's resistance!" Clark said, after forcing the Phoenix back. At that moment, five missiles, armed with nuclear warheads, shot out from behind him.

"Is this humanity's resistance?" the Phoenix sneered, her contempt evident. She felt the intense hostility of the humans and, as the embodiment of emotion, was easily influenced. She raised her hand, intending to incinerate the bombs with her flames before they could detonate.

"Don't even think about it!" Clark declared. He moved at light speed, appearing behind the Phoenix and seizing her in a tight grip. "Whether you get hurt or not, you're going to take this counterattack head-on!"

Holding the Phoenix tightly, Clark plunged straight into the path of the five nuclear bombs. The combined explosive power of 250 megatons detonated in a single, colossal blast. The intense nuclear radiation spread out, turning the area into a no-go zone for decades, perhaps a permanent nuclear test site.

The nuclear bombs that had once weakened Clark in 1962 no longer posed a threat. He slowly emerged from the explosion, his eyes fixed on the epicenter. The Phoenix's aura had not diminished or weakened, which was exactly what Clark had expected. After all, if countless nuclear explosions couldn't harm him after he had absorbed the sun's energy, they wouldn't harm the Phoenix Force.

While the Eastern nation's leaders hoped their attack had an effect, Clark already knew the outcome. Before the nuclear fallout could even dissipate, the Phoenix, wreathed in terrifying flames, crashed straight into him.

The collision sent the two of them hurtling across the great Eastern nation, over the Pacific Ocean, around the globe, and finally back to New York City. The people of New York, who had just learned of Superman's battle, had no idea their city was about to become the next battlefield.
