The live broadcast audiences around the world fell silent the moment they saw Clark appear and take the microphone.

"Everyone, I know many of you are confused. You're wondering why Superman, of all people, would do something like this. Why would I so openly help mutants?"

Clark's words echoed the thoughts of countless ordinary people watching at home. There was no rule for what Superman should be, but based on his past behavior and comic book stories, no one understood why he would support mutants in this situation.

In most countries, mutants were seen as a danger, a threat to public safety. When ordinary people heard about a mutant, their first instinct was to run. Even in more tolerant nations, mutants were still tracked and marked in population systems.

Compared to regular humans, mutants were indeed more likely to cause social unrest—that was an undeniable fact, and one Clark couldn't change. Just like himself, even if he didn't become Superman, his powers would still cause a stir.

"My reason is simple," he said, "I don't want any more pain or suffering to be caused by these issues."

Clark pointed to his ears. "I can hear it—the tragedies happening all over the world, the cries of countless people." Then, he pointed to his eyes. "I can also see that natural and man-made disasters keep striking this world. Even I can't prevent every single one of them."

His words were filled with a sense of helplessness that resonated with the audience. If even Superman had his limits, what hope did they have?

"But this world isn't just about sadness and pain. Take the mutant issue, for example. They aren't 'others'; they are our fellow human beings."

Clark's words made many people watching pause and think. They had always been influenced by the government's rhetoric and had never truly considered where mutants came from. Parents with mutant children began to question why their kids had abilities when they themselves did not.

"It's a special mutation of the X-gene—an inevitable part of human reproduction. They are born from humans. I am not human, but I became a Superman. Look at the mutants around you. They've had the same education, lived in the same environments, and share similar values. So why should a gene, without consciousness, be seen as a source of original sin?"

Clark held up a vial that Hank had given him. "It's true that some genetic changes are unacceptable, but humanity now has the technology to reverse these uncontrolled mutations. In that case, why can't we give mutants a chance to choose? They can voluntarily give up their abilities, but they should never be forced."

With a small smile, Clark gestured to himself. "After all, compared to me—someone who came from space—you're all brothers and sisters."

Will Clark's speech have an impact? Of course it will. If humans can accept and worship an alien like Superman, there's no reason they can't accept mutants who were also born from humans.

Clark used the massive public goodwill he had earned to counter years of government propaganda and dismantle the idea that mutants were inherently dangerous.

"Thank you, Clark," Emma said, her eyes full of gratitude after they had sent the Daily Bugle reporters back to New York.

"Next, you need to turn this island into a livable land. I've confirmed that the mineral resources in this piece of land I brought up are more than enough. This area is already very rich."

Initially, Clark had considered using Kryptonian terraforming technology to help the mutants transform the newly risen island. However, it turned out that his help was no longer needed. With their various powers, the mutants quickly got to work.

Mutants who could control plants made lush forests grow from simple seeds. Those who could manipulate the earth improved the soil.

Mutants who could control electricity provided basic power, saving them from having to start from scratch. Their abilities, while not always useful in combat, were incredibly powerful when used for development and construction.

Watching the scene unfold, Clark's last bit of doubt about his decision vanished completely.

If such a conflict had never broken out between humans and mutants, he thought, and if mutants had been able to fully use their abilities thousands of years ago, humanity might have reached a level of advancement comparable to Krypton, a home world I've never even seen.

Emma was smart. She would establish good rules and manage this new mutant nation well.

Of course, no matter how much this new country developed, it wouldn't be able to gather every mutant in the world.

Many would choose to stay in their home countries. And that was the greatest purpose of this new nation's existence: to demonstrate to the world that mutants could do more than just cause destruction.

Over time, as more mutants proved their value, the decades of discrimination would naturally fade away.

Now, it was time for Clark to leave. Unless there were extraordinary circumstances, he wouldn't return to this mutant nation, Krakoa. As Superman—a walking threat—it was better to not be too involved.

"Emma, this is the future I promised to the mutants, but it's also an opportunity. I will no longer interfere in anything related to mutants and humans. How far you go depends on the joint choices of you and humanity."

With that final message, Clark was gone.

A moment later, Nightcrawler teleported to Emma's side. "Boss... or should I say, the first mutant president? Is it time for us to leave?"

Emma nodded, took his hand, and teleported away. "From this moment on, in Superman's eyes, there will no longer be any difference between mutants and humans. Which means if we pose a threat to the Earth..."

"...Superman will see us as enemies and eliminate us directly," Nightcrawler finished.

As one of the few telepaths who had been inside Superman's mind, Emma knew this all too well. The Superman who still cared about the world had changed. He had become more rational and more ruthless.
