The level of her delusion was almost fascinating, in a scary way. She didn't just misunderstand us; she had built an entire fantasy version of us in her head, made from her own greed and entitlement, and she believed it with absolute conviction.
Scarlet stood up from the chair slowly, smoothing her hands down her dress. The anger was gone as put on a mask of perfect calm, looking down on us as if she had already won and we were too stupid to realize it
"You are upset," she said calmly. "I understand that you feel betrayed. But you know what i did makes so much sense. I'm the only one who is right for you. I'm the only person who can match you all drive and actually stand beside you all as an equal."
