All eyes, both inside and beyond the emergency room, snapped toward the motionless figure standing at the doorway.
Kendrick stood frozen, his expression taut with shock and something dangerously close to fear as he stared at Hiraya.
He understood that this was all an act. But something about the way she said those words felt too real and too scary to be fake.
In addition to her cold words, Kendrick didn't expert how to be this badly injured.
The slightly bloodied bandage around her bruised head, her paled expression, her bandaged knees and elbow and the amount of hatred in her eyes drained the colour from his face.
"Isn't that Kendrick Silva?" One nurse whispered, leaning toward her colleague and shielding her mouth with her palm.
"The third heir of the multi-billion dollar Silva conglomerate?" The other murmured back, instinctively tugging her closer, wary of being overheard.
"Yes," the first nurse nodded. "That's him."
