"Shit!" Hiraya screamed in her thoughts.
'Did he recognize me? Is my cover blown?!'
Acting as though he could hear and read her thoughts, Joel added.
"You have nothing to worry about, my child?" He pulled away, brushing off a few strands of hair from her face and neatly tucking them behind her ear. "Your secret is safe with me...for now."
He drawled the last two words with a devilish smirk, leaving Hiraya completely immobilised for a split second.
"What fucking secret?" She almost cried out, her nerves spiking and her eyes twitching slightly.
[Stay calm, child. Smile and nod. He knows nothing. This is just a test to unnerve you.]
Hiraya heard Griffin's voice in her head.
[I want to kill him right now where he stands.]
She replied through the mind link and Griffin replied almost immediately.
