Chapter 349 - Dragon’s Sin of Wrath, Meliodas!

Bab 1: Dragon's Sin of Wrath, Meliodas!

"Aaah—!!!"

"System, you tricked me again—!!!"

High above the ground, hundreds of meters in the air, a lone figure was plummeting downward at a terrifying speed.

The wind screamed past his ears, and somewhere within that howling gale, there was even a faint sound that resembled a sonic boom—more than enough to prove just how horrifyingly fast he was falling.

And the one free-falling from that impossible height was none other than Yukinoshita Akira—also known as Shin Akira—who had just arrived in this world.

What he absolutely did not expect was that his arrival point would be in the middle of the sky.

That was completely outside his calculations.

He had once thought that appearing for the first time in Orario, inside Hephaestus's bathhouse, was already the worst kind of bad luck.

But this?

This was on a whole different level.

The moment he appeared, he was already hundreds of meters in the air. A true "no solution" opening.

In the blink of an eye, the ground rushed up to meet him.

Normally, every time he arrived in a new world, his power would be restricted.

And right now, he was falling freely from a height of hundreds of meters.

This really looked like the kind of start that led straight to a game over screen.

But just as Akira was about to release his restrictions, he suddenly realized something.

His power wasn't sealed.

He was still in his peak condition.

"Bang…"

"An explosive impact…"

The next second, a "meteor" smashed into the ground, creating a massive crater in the earth.

Amid thick smoke, swirling dust, and shattered stone inside the pit, Akira lay there for a moment.

"Damn… I let my guard down for a second. Good thing my power's still here. Otherwise, I'd be dead."

He stood up, brushing dirt and debris off his body as he spoke, his voice still carrying a trace of lingering fear.

But when he looked around, all he saw was barren, desolate land stretching endlessly in every direction. Not a single sign of life.

It made Yukinoshita Akira frown in confusion.

What kind of world was this?

"By the way, System… why didn't you restrict my power this time?"

That question had been stuck in his head since the moment he landed.

[Ding]

[Host has completed three inheritances, thereby completing the "Trial." From now on, further template inheritances will no longer restrict the Host's power, except under special conditions.]

"Three inheritances… so that was a trial? If I had failed, what would've happened?"

[Ding]

[If the trial failed, the system would sever its bond with the Host.]

"Wow… then I guess I really am 'lucky.'"

Starting from zero three times in a row had turned out to be a test.

Akira had always wondered why his power was sealed every time he inherited a template.

Now, it finally made sense.

Alongside his shock, what he felt most was relief.

After all, templates were obtained completely at random.

The fact that he had drawn powerful ones three times in a row was nothing short of absurd luck.

If he had pulled a weak template even once, who knew what kind of fate he'd be facing right now.

[Ding]

[Host has been detected to have "arrived safely." Would you like to begin the next template inheritance draw?]

The system's voice sounded again.

Akira could only smile wryly.

Arrived safely?

With a method of world travel like that, it still dared to call this safe?

"Start the template draw."

Complaining was one thing, but the inheritance draw was far more important.

The next moment, a system panel appeared before Akira's eyes.

A massive, translucent wheel spun rapidly, and one by one, silhouettes of different templates flashed across its surface.

Finally, the wheel came to a stop.

What appeared before Akira was a small boy with green eyes and blond hair.

The instant he saw that figure, Yukinoshita Akira froze.

He knew him far too well.

[Ding]

[Congratulations to Host, you have obtained the template: Meliodas!]

[Meliodas: Leader of the Seven Deadly Sins, the Dragon's Sin of Wrath, son of the Demon King, former leader of the Ten Commandments. Due to a curse from the Supreme Deity, his body cannot grow and remains in the form of a child, while also granting him immortality.]

[Ding]

[Congratulations to Host, you have obtained: Power of Darkness!]

[Ding]

[Congratulations to Host, you have obtained Ability: Demon Mark (Fragment)!]

[Ding]

[Congratulations to Host, you have obtained Talent: Immortality (Curse)!]

The Power of Darkness began to merge into Akira's body.

In an instant, it resonated with the Shadow Force he already possessed, the two dark energies echoing and responding to each other.

Power of Darkness and Shadow Force—both were forces born from the same source.

[Power of Darkness: A magical force of the darkness attribute, the signature magic of the Demon Clan. A devouring darkness that consumes all things, the core power of the Demon race.]

[Demon Mark (Fragment): A remnant of the Demon Clan's power, allowing entry into an incomplete Demon Mark state, at the risk of losing control.]

[Immortality (Curse): A curse bestowed by the Supreme Deity and the Demon King. Eternal life, a curse that prevents death. Each death consumes a portion of the user's emotions.]

[Name: Yukinoshita Akira]

[Identity: Visitor from another world]

[Template Inheritance: Meliodas (0%)]

[Talent: Immortality (Curse)]

[Magic: Darkness]

[Skill: Demon Mark (Fragment)]

[Equipment: None]

[Items: Tears of the Phoenix ×1]

The Curse of Immortal Life.

Akira smiled faintly.

He truly hadn't expected that when inheriting a template, even the curse would be inherited along with it.

In the world of The Seven Deadly Sins, the emotions Meliodas lost to the curse fell into the hands of the Demon King.

So what about him, who now carried Meliodas's template?

A small spark of curiosity rose in his heart—but Akira had absolutely no intention of testing it.

After all, who in their right mind wanted to die for no reason?

Still, this could be considered a kind of insurance.

Even if each death would consume a part of his emotions, compared to death itself, that side effect was still acceptable.

Besides, Akira wasn't Meliodas.

He didn't have a tragic love story like his.

So in the end, this was just an insurance policy—with a price.

"Rooaaar…"

At that moment, from all around him, one beast after another emerged from who knew where.

Their bodies burned crimson red, with yellow manes running along their backs. They looked like lions, yet each of them bore a pair of saber-like fangs, similar to those of a saber-toothed tiger.

The way they stared at Akira was filled with pure killing intent.

Clearly, he had become their target.

With a single thought—

Behind Akira, ripples of golden light spread through the air.

From within those shimmering waves, a silver chain shot forward, its tip glowing with brilliant gold, engraved with unknown divine patterns.

One strike.

One kill.

Purple blood splashed across the ground.

Akira raised his hand slightly, frowning as he felt a strange yet exhilarating sensation flow through him.

Standing on this land, he felt as if he possessed endless power.

The feeling was incredible.

Even back in the world of High School DxD, he had never experienced anything like this.

And that wasn't all.

In this world, the concentration of magic in the air was terrifyingly high.

If the magic density in the world of High School DxD was a ten…

Then here, it was at least a hundred.

Maybe even more.
