"Dammit..."
Inside the shed like structure, Grey saw three corpses. These corpses were slightly bloated, and their skin was both green and black. They emitted a putrid smell that was enough to make whoever smelt it to puke. These corpses were also in the process of dissolving as their flesh had burst open and their internals could be seen.
Two of the corpses were adult. The last corpse was small and Grey assumed for it to be child. Because of the green and black all over their body, Grey could not see their faces clearly, but he could see the pain and shock in their eyes before they died.
From the way the corpses lay, Grey could guess that the first corpse was a male and the second corpse was a female. The baby in between them must've been their child.
Although they were dead, their actions and positions told Grey that they still cared for their child before disaster fell upon then.
From afar, Grey saw this scene. And after seeing that the corpses were really just corpses, he got a little closer.
As he got closer, a choking, putrid smell entered into Grey's nostrils. But he endured the smell and advanced closer.
When he was close enough, Grey saw a large circle on each of the Corpses left hand. That circle was very big and pitch black. Some sizzling sounds could be heard as if the skin was slowly being melted
As he went closer, Grey also saw a patch of black substance and the traces of dissolved clothes. That lead him to believe that another corpse had also been here, but it had disintegrated faster than the other three.
When he looked at the large circle on each of the corpses hand, Grey felt as if his eyes were burning. He quickly retracted his gaze and took a step backwards. The vigilance in his heart had not dissipated even one bit.
After observing for a fewore seconds, Grey came to conclusion.
"These corpses must have died when God's blinding radiance fell on this city. Since they did not mutate into abominations, the decay point must've reached it's highest point and killed them. Their bodies are in the middle of dissolving but... the corrosive substance keeps rising. Soon, they will be reduced to puddles of flesh and putrid acid." Grey said slowly. He could feel the corrosive substance in his own body slowly rising just from being in close proximity with the corpses. If he stayed here for long, Grey's body would also start to bloat, and the decay point on his hand will reach a critical level, and he would mutate into an abomination, or die just like these corpses.
After observing the cabin for a bit, Grey attempted to leave, but an item that lay close to the corpses drew his attention.
When he drew closer again, he saw that it was a small bottle. Taking the risk of the corrosive substance in his body exploding, Grey crouched close to corpse's before grabbing the bottle and hurridly retreating.
When he saw that the corpse's did not show any signs of life, or any movement, he heaved a sigh of relief.
Without looking back, Grey quickly left the shed and ran away. After leaving the area where the shed was, Grey stopped running to see what was contained inside the bottle.
Immediately he opened it, a sweet smelling fragrance entered into his nostrils. That smell was not powerful, but it was enough to cause the corrosive substance in his body to react as if it was repelling it.
In surprise, Grey brought out what was inside the small bottle. Inside the small bottle was several white colored pills. Those pills were what emitter the sweet smelling fragrance.
And slowly, Grey realized what these white colored pills were. They were medicinal pills!
