Chapter 177 - Battle Of The Gods

The true nature of the God of Destruction finally revealed itself. Beerus's expression twisted into something cruel and merciless, his usual sleepy demeanor replaced by an aura of pure malevolence. Dark crimson energy condensed in his palm, forming a concentrated beam of destruction aimed directly at Karnel's chest.

"How ungrateful," Karnel said with mock disappointment, his tone remaining conversational despite the death ray pointing at his heart. "I treated you to a wonderful meal out of pure kindness, and this is how you repay me? Truly disheartening."

He made no move to dodge or defend himself, treating the God of Destruction's attack as little more than an irritating gesture.

Beerus's face darkened to an almost purple shade. "Don't lecture me, you insignificant worm! I'll do whatever I please, starting with erasing you from existence!"

Whis observed the escalating tension with obvious amusement, making no attempt to intervene. If anything, his smile suggested he was thoroughly enjoying the show.

Karnel's casual facade finally dropped, replaced by something far more serious and infinitely more dangerous. "Enough theatrics, Beerus. Fight me. I'm genuinely curious to see just how powerful a God of Destruction really is."

Without waiting for a response, Karnel exploded into motion. His form blurred into crimson lightning as he rocketed away from Earth at impossible speed, his trajectory carrying them far beyond the planet's atmosphere in mere seconds.

"Lord Beerus!" Whis called out with barely contained laughter, "It looks like you've finally met your match! You might actually get beaten up this time!"

Beerus stared in shock at the rapidly disappearing figure. 'How did he become so powerful so suddenly? He seemed like an ordinary mortal just moments ago!'

After processing this unexpected development, he turned to glare at his smirking attendant. "You knew he wasn't normal, didn't you?"

"Perhaps," Whis replied with feigned innocence. "But where's the fun in spoiling such a delightful surprise?"

Beerus growled in frustration. "Hmph! It's been far too long since I've encountered a truly worthy opponent. If this Saiyan wants to play, I'll indulge him. But if he disappoints me, I'll obliterate both him and his precious little planet!"

The God of Destruction's form shimmered, and he vanished, reappearing beside Whis as they pursued their challenger into the cosmic void.

Karnel didn't stop until he'd traveled well beyond the solar system, finally coming to rest in an empty region of space where distant stars appeared as mere pinpricks of light. Earth's sun was nothing more than a bright dot among countless others.

"This should suffice," he murmured, surveying the desolate expanse. "As long as we keep our energies contained and avoid directing any attacks toward Earth, the collateral damage should be manageable."

'Here they come.'

Beerus and Whis materialized before him, the angel maintaining his characteristic serene expression while the God of Destruction radiated barely restrained hostility.

"Considerate of you to relocate our battlefield," Beerus acknowledged with grudging respect. "Most opponents are too stupid or too arrogant to think of such things. I hope you can provide adequate entertainment, otherwise, I'll destroy you and that pretty blue planet you're protecting."

He raised one finger, and another crimson energy sphere formed at its tip before deliberately dissipating, a clear demonstration of the power he could unleash.

"Oh, you'll be satisfied," Karnel replied, his eyes flashing with murderous intent at the casual threat to Earth. "In fact, you might find the experience... explosive."

Fiery red energy erupted around Karnel's form like a divine inferno. His hair shifted to a brilliant crimson, and thin wisps of scarlet aura danced across his skin. The transformation was unmistakable, the true power of a Super Saiyan God had been unleashed.

'When did such a being appear in this universe?'Whis's perpetual smile faltered slightly as he reassessed their opponent. His strength is genuinely comparable to Lord Beerus... possibly even superior.'

Even Beerus felt a chill of recognition, and genuine concern. The figure before him radiated an aura of lethal danger that few beings in the universe could match. This wasn't some pretender or lucky amateur; this was a warrior capable of actually killing a God of Destruction.

"Saiyan..." Beerus said, his voice dropping to a respectful murmur. "You're far more impressive than that pathetic excuse for a Super Saiyan God I encountered eons ago. That weakling barely registered as a threat."

"Ah, you mean the one who achieved the form through that ridiculous ritual?" Karnel's expression turned disdainful. "That watered-down transformation created by combining multiple lesser powers? Please. Comparing that abomination to my divine ascension is like comparing a flickering candle to the sun itself."

The fundamental difference was profound. Where the traditional Super Saiyan God form relied on borrowed power and artificial enhancement, Karnel had achieved his transformation through pure personal evolution, a divine state earned rather than gifted.

"Beerus!" Karnel's voice echoed through the void like thunder. "Let's see who's truly stronger, the so-called God of Destruction, or a nameless Super Saiyan God! Come!"

He launched himself forward with explosive force, crossing several thousand meters in an instant. His fist, wreathed in divine fire, aimed for Beerus's chest with enough power to shatter planets.

Beerus's playful demeanor vanished entirely. This wasn't a time for arrogance or casual dismissal, his opponent possessed genuine god-killing potential. He met the attack with his full attention and considerable skill.

BOOM!

The collision between God of Destruction and Super Saiyan God sent shockwaves rippling through reality itself. The fabric of space-time, normally resilient beyond mortal comprehension, cracked like glass under the immense energies unleashed by their clash.

Cosmic black holes began forming spontaneously around them, while the gravitational distortions from their battle tore at nearby asteroids and space debris. Nothing within light-years of their conflict remained untouched by the devastating aftershocks.

The small galaxy that had the misfortune of hosting their battle began to buckle under forces it was never meant to withstand. Planets caught in the crossfire didn't even have time to explode, they simply ceased to exist, their matter scattered across dimensions or compressed into nothingness.

Entire star systems collapsed as the battle raged across multiple sectors of space. One moment they fought among asteroid fields, the next they had teleported to distant nebulae, leaving trails of cosmic devastation in their wake.

"This is getting rather excessive," Whis observed mildly as he watched a galaxy-sized black hole forming from the accumulated destruction. With casual precision, he tapped his staff against the void, and silver light washed over the devastated region.

Time flowed backward, stars reconstructed themselves, and destroyed planets reformed from scattered atoms. Within moments, the galaxy had been restored to its state from three minutes earlier, though half the celestial bodies showed fresh battle damage from the ongoing conflict.

"That's the best I can do under these circumstances," Whis murmured, then vanished to follow the two combatants as they continued their reality-shaking duel across the cosmos.

The battle showed no signs of slowing. If anything, both warriors seemed to be growing stronger as they fought, their powers escalating beyond what should have been cosmically possible.

Wherever they appeared, destruction followed, and behind them, Whis worked tirelessly to prevent their conflict from unmaking the universe itself.
