The late afternoon sunlight glimmered over a wide forest lake, its surface perfectly still except for the occasional ripple caused by a Goldeen or Poliwag swimming beneath. Trees surrounded the clearing like a natural arena, their leaves rustling in the breeze. Several wild Pokémon gathered on branches and rocks, curious about the upcoming clash. Me and ash faced each other.
Tracy decided to act as the referee for this match. The Tracy raised his hand.
Tracy:"Official battle between the Ash and Regina—begin when ready!"
Opening Moments
The challenger stepped forward confidently.
Ash:"Lapras, I choose you!"
Lapras emerged in a burst of light, gracefully sliding into the lake. The water glowed around her as she let out a melodic cry, the waves rippling outward in circles.

Regina just smirked. Makes sense, its still a baby after all.
Regina:"Speed wins battles. Scyther—take flight!"
A flash—and Scyther burst out, blades gleaming like sharpened emeralds. He hovered above the water's surface with rapid wingbeats, sending a thin spray of droplets into the air.

The two Pokémon locked eyes: elegance versus ferocity.
Tracy:"Battle, begin!"
Regina:"Scyther, Quick Attack!"
Scyther shot forward like a green bullet, dashing across the surface of the lake without sinking, each step so fast it barely touched the water.
Ash:"Lapras, Ice Beam—cut him off!"
Lapras fired a brilliant blue beam across the lake. Scyther flicked sideways, skimming across rippling water as the beam froze a long stretch of lake behind him.
Misty sitting besides gasped at Ash strength. She knew that since Regina and Ash talked with each other in the hidden village where ash caught his bulbasaur and eevee, something in Ash have shifted and he had begun to train even more seriously. But this level of battle truly was astounding considering the fact that Lapras had just been caught and was still a baby.
Ash: "Again! Ice Beam!"
Lapras shot another.
Regina:"Air Slash!"
Scyther swung both blades, releasing cutting waves of compressed air that sliced through the Ice Beam mid-stream, breaking it into glittering frozen shards. The air blades then struck the lake, creating twin geysers.
Lapras recoiled from the spray, surprised.
Regina:"Scyther, Double Team!"
Scyther split into a dozen fast-moving images racing across water, rocks, and frozen patches. Lapras spun, unsure which was real.
Ash:"Lapras, Surf—clear them out!"
Regina widen her eye at that 'Lapras know surf. Just how strong have ash become compared to cannon.'
Lapras summoned a towering wave, the lake erupting around her. The massive surge swept across the battlefield, crashing through Scyther's clones.
Most vanished.
But the real Scyther leapt skyward just in time.
Regina:"Dive down with X-Scissor!"
Scyther crossed his blades, energy crackling as he plummeted toward Lapras.
Ash:"Sing!"
Lapras opened her mouth—soft musical notes drifted out.
But Scyther was too fast and too trained in this type of battles courtesy to Clefable..
He struck Lapras across the shell, the X-Scissor blow sending a shockwave across the lake. Lapras was thrown backward, splashing violently.
Lapras resurfaced, shaking off pain.
Ash:"Water pulse!"
Water blasted from Lapras with tremendous force.
Regina:"Vacuum Wave!"
Scyther swung his blades, generating spiraling shockwaves that deflected the Hydro Pump to the sides, splitting the beam in half. The redirected spray struck trees, shredding bark.
Scyther darted forward.
Ash:"Ice Shard—freeze the water around him!"
Lapras created a burst of icy projectiles that froze part of the lake surface. Scyther landed on the ice—his claws slipping for a split-second.
This was the opening Lapras needed.
Ash:"Now—Body Slam!"
Lapras lunged, using her weight to crush the frozen platform and Scyther along with it.
Ice shattered everywhere as Lapras crashed down.
But—
Scyther blurred at the last moment, evading with terrifying reflexes.
He reappeared behind Lapras, breathing heavily but still dangerous.
Regina:"Now, Fury Cutter—keep the pressure!"
Scyther slashed once—twice—thrice—each strike faster than the last, growing stronger and sharper. Lapras winced, water splashing violently with each blow.
Ash:"Lapras, Icy Wind!"
Lapras unleashed a chilling gust. Frost spiraled outward, coating Scyther's wings.
His flight slowed.
For the first time, Scyther was forced to land on a floating ice patch.
Exactly what the challenger wanted.
Ash:"Finish this—Icy wind!"
Lapras fired a sparkling sphere of supercold energy.
Regina:"Use Agility—break free!"
Scyther roared, his body glowing white. He forced his wings to move despite the frost, shattering the icy buildup and leaping upward just before the Freeze-Dry blast enveloped the lake.
The sphere hit—
BOOM.
An explosion of frost engulfed the entire battlefield. Ice spread across the water, freezing nearly everything in sight.
When the mist cleared—
Lapras floated, panting, while most of the lake was frozen solid.
But Scyther…
…was gone.
A faint shimmering movement appeared behind Lapras.
Scyther emerged from the haze—wings tattered, breathing heavy, but eyes burning with unmatched intensity. He had flown behind the ice explosion at the last instant.
Reginna:"End it. Night Slash."
Dark energy flooded Scyther's blades.
Ash:"Lapras—Perish Song! Now!"
Lapras began singing an eerie, ghostly tune. The air vibrated. Even the wild Pokémon flinched and covered their ears.
Regina just gritted her teeth at that.
Scyther froze for a heartbeat.
The song's cursed melody washed over the battlefield.
But the pause was only momentary.
Scyther pushed through the pain.
With a chilling cry, he struck.
The Night Slash hit Lapras square across the neck and shell, dark energy surging through the impact. The blow rippled the frozen lake, cracks radiating outward like lightning.
Lapras cried out, collapsing backward onto the ice with a deep groan.
She tried to rise—
—tried to sing—
—but her eyes were already closing.
The Song faded from her lips.
A long silence hung over the clearing.
Conclusion
Tracy himself in awe and trembling:"Lapras is unable to battle! Scyther wins!"
Misty was surprised at how strong Ash had become and was feeling like compared to him and Regina her training fell far shorter.
Scyther though the winner was far too tiered himself.
"You did wonderful scyther. Rest well." I said recalling scyther.
"Good job lapras, rest well." Ash said recalling Lapras.
"It was a good battle ash. Your lapras is strong I have to say." I said. Way better than how cannon him would have battled. I wonder if realizing his family's financial situation when his dad was not present made him work harder. Though now its okay considering his dad has came back but that feeling will never ever fade really.
"It was... I lost again though, but this will be the last time I lose. Plus your scyther is no less is he." Ash said. I just chuckled and nodded at that.
