"You two won't be saving anyone!" the Hanzaki Megid roared as it lunged forward, sword raised high.
"Stay back!" Artoria called out to Issei and Sora without looking away.
"Yeah, kick his ass!" Issei shouted, gripping Sora's hand.
Steel clashed as Artoria met the Megid head-on. Sparks flew when their blades collided, the force rippling through the ground. Artoria pivoted and drove a sharp kick into Hanzaki's chest, sending it skidding backward.
Before it could recover, Rin leapt in.
She swung her left arm, the Capture Hook firing out with a sharp snap. The chain wrapped tightly around the Megid's arms, binding them in place.
"Artoria-now!" Rin shouted, bracing herself.
Artoria yanked the Needle Hedgehog Wonder Ride Book from her driver and slammed it against Kaenken Rekka.
HEDGEHOG!
Hmm Hmm!
LEARNING FLASH!
"Hyah!" Artoria cried.
Golden energy surged through the blade as sharp yellow quills formed along its edge. She slashed forward-once-releasing a storm of glowing needles that tore into the Megid's body. Rin released the chain and vaulted away just in time as the quills detonated on impact.
Artoria followed through with three rapid slashes, each strike carving through the Megid's form.
The Hanzaki screamed as its body was engulfed in flames, collapsing into burning fragments.
"Yes!" Artoria cheered, lowering her sword.
Suddenly, something struck her shoulder. A charred piece of the Megid rolled across the ground.
A guttural voice echoed.
"REGENERATE."
Black energy surged as the fragments twisted and fused together. In seconds, the Hanzaki Megid restored itself completely, roaring as it spun wildly.
"Wha-?!" Rin barely had time to react.
The Megid unleashed a brutal spinning slash, the force of its blade striking both Artoria and Rin at once. They were sent flying, crashing hard into the ground.
Meanwhile, back in the real world-
Steel rang out as Dogouken Gekido met Grudge Dent, the shock of the clash cracking the concrete beneath their feet.
"Those youngsters are giving it their all," Ogami muttered, bracing himself as he blocked another vicious strike from Desast. "So I can't afford to fall here."
Desast moved like a shadow, vanishing and reappearing in flashes of magenta. His blade carved across Ogami's armor again and again, sparks flying with each hit.
"Tch-still standing?" Desast sneered.
Ogami grunted, digging his heels into the ground before forcing Desast back with a powerful shove. The two skidded across the pavement and tumbled apart. Desast rolled to his feet instantly.
Ogami wasn't as quick-but he stood anyway.
"Come on now," he said, straightening his posture. "I'm not out for the count just yet."
He reached to Dogouken Gekido, pulling free the Genbu Shinwa Wonder Ride Book-then the second book he'd taken earlier.
Jackun to Domamenoki.
Ogami flipped it open.
The curious tale of a boy whose magic beans suddenly grew into a giant beanstalk.
With a decisive motion, he snapped the book shut and inserted it into the Gekido Shelf.
The pages burst open as energy surged outward.
Ogami stood within a stone-filled library, towering images of Genbu Shinwa and Jackun to Domamenoki looming behind him.
Jackun-to-Domamenoki!
Glowing green vines spiraled around his left armored arm, pulsing with life.
Cleave with one stroke!
RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

Stone armor shifted and expanded, vines weaving through reinforced plates as Ogami completed his transformation.

Desast dragged the tip of Grudge Dent across the ground, sparks trailing behind him.
"Calamity Strike."
He leapt into the air, spinning as waves of magenta energy erupted from his blade, raining down upon Ogami.
Ogami raised Dogouken Gekido, absorbing the barrage as he was driven backward, boots carving trenches into the concrete.
"Tch...!" Ogami growled.
He pressed Genbu Shinwa against the blade.
Genbu Shinwa!
RUMBLE!
GEKIDO SPORADIC STRIKE!
"Grand Revolution!" Ogami roared.
A massive beanstalk erupted from the ground, intercepting Desast's attack. Using the rising vines as a launch point, Ogami propelled himself forward, delivering a single, devastating slash.
The impact sent both warriors crashing down.
They landed on one knee.
Desast clutched his side, panting, his sword embedded in the ground to keep himself upright. Then his eyes narrowed.
"...Huh?"
Across from him, Ogami slowly straightened-and held up a red Wonder Ride Book.
"I'll be taking this," Ogami said firmly.
Desast burst into laughter.
"Fine by me," he said, stepping back into the shadows. "Keeping it will only make things more entertaining. Enjoy it."
With that, Desast vanished.
Ogami exhaled and de-henshined, the armor dissolving away as he lowered his sword.
"Saber..." he murmured, gripping the stolen book. "Sora's in your hands now."
He closed his eyes, recalling Artoria's promise and placed his faith in it.
